McDonald's to go
The Wall Street Journal's Janet Adamy reports that McDonald's has sent a message to the lords of Obamacare. According to the Journal, McDonald's has warned federal regulators that it could drop its health insurance plan for nearly 30,000 hourly restaurant workers unless regulators waive a new Obamacare requirement. Adamy comments: "The move is one of the clearest indications that new rules may disrupt workers' health plans as the law ripples through the real world." Please read the whole thing.
It's a bit late in the day to ask whether President Obama made a single truthful argument in favor of Obamacare. Yet he and his congressional allies probably didn't expect the exposure of their lies to begin quite this soon after their nationalization of health care.

Obama Stumps For Jon Stewart’s Restore Sanity Socialism Rally
Bring in the ACORN buses…
Barack Obama today stumped for Jon Stewart's Restore Sanity Socialism rally at his Virginia backyard bbq.
The AP reported:
"Daily Show" host Jon Stewart has won some high-level backing for his "Rally to Restore Sanity" next month in Washington: President Barack Obama.
Stewart says the Oct. 30 rally is for people who think the loudest voices shouldn't be the only ones that get heard.
Obama raised the subject of the rally during a round-table Wednesday with residents of Richmond, Va.
Obama said he was "amused" by Stewart's rally and that it's for people who expect some common sense and courtesy in their daily interactions.

America’s Chavez [Reader Post]
Hugo Chavez has nationalized American oil rigs, shut down 34 radio stations, is busy confiscating private property and annointed himself President for life.
America has its own Chavez.
Doug Ross reminds us that Mark Levin observed that we are as close to a dictatorship as we have ever been.
Last May, Mark Levin — the President of Landmark Legal Foundation — stated that President Barack Obama was the "closest thing to a dictator" this country had ever seen.
The list of horribles included his naked attempts to silence critics, his encouragement of voter intimidation, his support of rampant vote fraud, the implicit campaign to encourage illegal immigration, and his blatant abrogation of contract law (e.g., the GM and Chrysler bailouts).
Now, in a bold attempt to shut down the opposition media, Obama has declared Fox News the enemy of the state.
Now Obama is at it again, demonizing the most popular and trusted cable news outlet in the United States. In an exclusive interview with Rolling Stone Magazine, Obama made the extraordinarily un-presidential claim that Fox is "destructive to [America's] long-term growth."
That's mind-boggling. Then again, Chavez also attacked Fox News.
But the list of Chavezesque plans is not complete.
Obama seeks control of the internet for "emergencies."
The new version would allow the president to "declare a cybersecurity emergency" relating to "non-governmental" computer networks and do what's necessary to respond to the threat. Other sections of the proposal include a federal certification program for "cybersecurity professionals," and a requirement that certain computer systems and networks in the private sector be managed by people who have been awarded that license.
And now that also includes the ability to shut down industries:
"Industries, companies or portions of companies could be temporarily shut down, or be required to take other steps to address threats," states the report, citing concerns about an "imminent threat to the U.S. electrical grid or other critical infrastructure such as the water supply or financial network."
Or support Republicans.
Obama has installed a shadow government of 35 czars who are unaccountable to Congress or to the American people. They include several Marxists.
Obama plans on using EPA rules to bypass Congress.
The timing of the EPA's moves also hint at political motives. Congressman Welch believes the new policies are intended to tell Congress, "that if we don't pass legislation, the President will not wait and will just go ahead and regulate."
Columbia's Heal agrees: "The EPA announcements are designed to put pressure on the Senate and on industry representatives who are pushing senators, that if they don't act, [the EPA] will, in ways industry won't like."
(By the way, if you'd like to se what increasing CO2 levels do for green plants, go here)
And Obama can't be bothered with Constitutional details.
Obama is hiring 17,000 health care mandate Schutzstaffel enforcement officers.
Barack Obama has never met a union he did not want to bailout. The head of the AFL-CIO, Richard Trumka, has called for the left wing government to take over private corporations.
And now he wants to wiretap your email.
And like Chavez, Obama has his own propaganda machine "Organizing for America." with the self-indulgent adoration name mybarackobama.com….
We're close. We're very close.

EXCLUSIVE: More Military Voting Violations Found
39 Dems Break Rank in Adjournment Vote, Pelosi Casts Tiebreaker
Government 39 Dems Break Rank in Adjournment Vote, Pelosi Casts Tiebreaker

In a rousing speech on the House floor before the vote, Minority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) called on his colleagues to stay in session long enough to vote on tax cuts: “Vote no on this adjournment resolution. Give Congress a chance to vote on extending tax rates.” After the vote was finalized, he accused those voting for adjournment of “putting their election above the needs of your constituents.”
Ironically, Democrats voting not to adjourn might have made that decision based on politics, too.
Many Democrats have been breaking with their party’s agenda as Americans increasingly grow disgruntled with the party’s track record in Congress. Breaking rank, then, may be a last-ditch effort to show that the candidates are more loyal to their constituencies than their party.
The vote to adjourn does not mean an immediate departure for the Representatives. As The Hill reports, the House still has to vote on several issues, including a measure to keep the federal government operating through Dec. 3, before it adjourns.

Houston voter fraud now tied to Obama activist
Houston voter fraud now tied to Obama activist
You may have read that there is strong evidence of voter fraud in Houston. Here’s what you may not have heard: the organization accused of shady behavior is linked to a former head of an Obama campaign office. She is a fan of Che Guevara. She is also the person who invited to a town hall meeting a woman who then posed as a doctor at that meeting during the health care debate.
Here are the details.
Last month, Houston’s Registrar accused a Democratic organization called “Houston Votes” of voter registration fraud. The allegations were recently detailed here, and make compelling reading:
When Catherine Engelbrecht and her friends sat down and started talking politics several years ago, they soon agreed that talking wasn’t enough. They wanted to do more. So when the 2008 election came around, “about 50” of her friends volunteered to work at Houston’s polling places.Guess who was active in recruiting for Houston Votes? That would be one Maria Isabel.
“What we saw shocked us,” she said. “There was no one checking IDs, judges would vote for people that asked for help. It was fraud, and we watched like deer in the headlights.”
Their shared experience, she says, created “True the Vote,” a citizen-based grassroots organization that began collecting publicly available voting data to prove that what they saw in their day at the polls was, indeed, happening — and that it was happening everywhere.
. . . .
Their work paid off. Two weeks ago the Harris County voter registrar took their work and the findings of his own investigation and handed them over to both the Texas secretary of state’s office and the Harris County district attorney.
Most of the findings focused on a group called Houston Votes, a voter registration group headed by Sean Caddle, who also worked for the Service Employees International Union before coming to Houston.Among the findings were that only 1,793 of the 25,000 registrations the group submitted appeared to be valid.
The other registrations included one of a woman who registered six times in the same day; registrations of non-citizens; so many applications from one Houston Voters collector in one day that it was deemed to be beyond human capability; and 1,597 registrations that named the same person multiple times, often with different signatures. . . .
“The integrity of the voting rolls in Harris County, Texas, appears to be under an organized and systematic attack by the group operating under the name Houston Votes,” the Harris voter registrar, Leo Vasquez, charged as he passed on the documentation to the district attorney.
Does that name sound familiar? It should. She is a radical Obama supporter who ran an Obama campaign office that sported a picture of Che Guevara.
Maria Isabel (identified by Babalu blog) at Obama/Che HQ
Her name resurfaced when we reported here that Isabel had invited Roxana Mayer to a Sheila Jackson Lee town hall meeting. Mayer, of course, is the woman who pretended to be a doctor to lend credibility to her support for Obama’s health care reform.
Go here for more pictures and information: http://patterico.com/2010/09/28/obama-activist-tied-in-with-organization-accused-of-voter-fraud/
(So, as it turned out, was Mayer.)
So last year, you had two Obama activists sitting in the front row of a Sheila Jackson Lee town hall meeting, one of whom invited the other via a listserv. One was a Che Guevara fan and the other lied about being a doctor.
Now the fan of Che Guevara and Obama is shown to have been involved (beginning as early as 2007) with an organization that stands credibly accused of rank voter fraud.
Doesn’t mean she had anything to do with it, of course. And she didn’t necessarily have anything to do with Roxana Mayer’s fraud, either. She just happens to keep popping up in the company of others who commit fraud. That’s all.
Or is it?
(Thanks to a reader who wishes not to be identified.)
UPDATE: Thanks to Instapundit for the link.
UPDATE x2: David Jennings, who took two of the photos used above, has a post that further ties Isabel to the Houston Votes organization — using photos that Isabel herself put on Flickr. It’s excellent work — go see it now.
WOW, Democrat Jokes That Seniors Should Be Denied End-Of-Life Healthcare
Democrat Gary McDowell is running to replace Bart Stupak (D, MI) in Michigan's First District and while he may be hoping he might get the votes of seniors coming to the end of their time here on this mortal coil, he sure seems reticent to give them the medical care they'll need to be around much longer after the election!
At a campaign appearance, McDowell agreed with those Obamacare supporters that think giving lifesaving medical care to seniors at end of life is a "resource" that needs to be rationed.
McDowell even makes a joke of the issue by saying that those that say end-of-life care should be rationed must be "from a safe district" because the "inconvenient truth" as he sees it is a tough pill to swallow.
Death panels, anyone?
Like a true Democrat McDowell thinks that setting up death panels should be swathed in less alarming language but that they should still be set up. "I was more diplomatic in not mentioning the end of life," he said to those gathered. Yet he still meant to talk about how we need to ration healthcare at the end of life because "as adults" we need to accept McDowell's "truth" that it's just too expensive to save grandma's life.
Let's hope that Michiganders vote for Doctor Mike Benishek instead of McDowell for Michigan's First.

Massive Houston Voter Registration Scandal Linked to Barack Obama
Earlier this week Houston authorities reported on a massive voter registration scandal involving more than 23,000 bogus registrations.
FOX News reported:
Two weeks ago the Harris County voter registrar took their work and the findings of his own investigation and handed them over to both the Texas secretary of state's office and the Harris County district attorney.
Most of the findings focused on a group called Houston Votes, a voter registration group headed by Sean Caddle, who also worked for the Service Employees International Union before coming to Houston. Among the findings were that only 1,793 of the 25,000 registrations the group submitted appeared to be valid.
The other registrations included one of a woman who registered six times in the same day; registrations of non-citizens; so many applications from one Houston Voters collector in one day that it was deemed to be beyond human capability; and 1,597 registrations that named the same person multiple times, often with different signatures. . . .
"The integrity of the voting rolls in Harris County, Texas, appears to be under an organized and systematic attack by the group operating under the name Houston Votes."
Now we find out the group Houston Votes is linked directly to the Barack Obama website.
Wizbang reported:
The fraudulent voter registrations were the product of a group called Houston Votes, an ACORN Lite. Houston Votes volunteers were recruited through President Obama's web site, www.barackobama.com. (He doesn't actively run it, but turned it over to his campaign staff after the election, now operating as "Organizing For America.") And one of the chief recruiters was a local Democratic activist (a very active one) named Maria Isabel.
To call Isabel "active" would be like describing Jeffrey Dahmer as "a man of interesting appetites." She once brought a friend and fellow organizer for www.barackobama.com to a health care town hall hosted by crazy whackjob Representative Sheila Jackson Lee. The friend stood up and said that she, as a doctor, backed ObamaCare. But the friend was about as much of a doctor as I am.

Rush: Obama’s comments on why he’s a Christian doesn’t jive
Rush listened to what Obama had to say yesterday when he was asked “Why are you a Christian” and says it doesn’t quite jive with what he’s said before about his Christianity:
Oh, It Was a Different Malik Shabazz
Numero Uno White House visitor and current subject of an FBI investigation Andy Stern isn't the only extremely unsavory character to find a welcome reception in the Oval Office. As the Justice Department's squashing of the voter intimidation case against the New Black Panthers came to a boil, the group's Racist Maniac in Chief Malik Shabazz was visiting the Manchurian Moonbat. Via Big Government, here's the timeline:
• July 8, Representative Frank Wolf sent a letter to Judiciary Chairman John Conyers and Ranking Member Lamar Smith demanding hearings before the House Judiciary Committee.
• July 9, Ten members of the House sent a letter demanding the DOJ Inspector General open an investigation.
• July 13, The Dept. of Justice replied but their letter contained factual inaccuracies about the case.
• July 17 Smith and Wolf send a swift and pointed rebuttal.
• July 20, Low-level DOJ staffers were sent to the Hill to brief Wolf on the Panther story, but Wolf threw them out of his office claiming they weren't being truthful to him.
• July 22, Wolf sent another letter to Attorney General Eric Holder demanding answers.
• July 24, Portia Robinson, intergovernmental liaison at DOJ, sent a letter to the Civil Rights Commission trying to deflect attention.
• July 25, a man named Malik Shabazz visited the exclusive, private residence in the White House.
• July 30, the Washington Times broke the news that top political appointee, Tom Perrelli (the #3 official at Justice) was involved in the dismissal of the case. Perrelli was also a top campaign bundler for Obama.
Wait: the White House claims this was some other Malik Shabazz. Thanks to the "transparency" that characterizes the Obama Regime, we may never know for sure.
Here's Shabazz admitting to the voter intimidation tactics that the Injustice Department doggedly refuses to prosecute because only white people can be racists:
His allies are running our federal government.

Chicago Terror Sweep Turns Up More Maniacs Linked to Obama
The same FBI terror sweep in Chicago that caught up Obama allies Hatem Abudayyeh and Joseph Iosbaker also snagged members of the New Party — a communist outfit with which Obama was involved in Chicago. One is Iosbaker, the other is his wife Stephanie Weiner.

Ugh. Where’s the Media?… Obama Openly Lies About National Deficit at Iowa Campaign Stop
If only we had a responsible, non-biased and honest media.
But we don't. We have a corrupt media and that is why not one news organization will challenge Obama's blatant lie about the national deficit.
Obama says its Bush's fault.
That's crazy. Good grief, look at the chart:
Sorry Barack, that wasn't Bush's fault and you know it.
The Des Moines Register reported this today from Obama's traveling economic sideshow:
Obama defended the health care bill he signed in March, saying neither it, nor the stimulus package nor the automotive industry bailout last year was responsible for the size of the federal deficit to the extent that (Bush) tax cuts were.
He was challenged by a Des Moines manufacturing company owner, who described allowing expiration of the tax cut for families earning $250,000 or more a year, including small businesses, as "strangling the engine that does create the jobs."
"Yeah, there's a lot of wealth, but it's trapped in the buildings … inventory and accounts receivable," David Greenspon, president of Competitive Edge advertising, told Obama.
Senate Democrats have postponed action on Obama's proposal until after the Nov. 2 election. House Democratic leaders have suggested members may still vote this week before leaving Washington to campaign.
What a blatant lie.
THE TRUTH – BUSH TAX CUTS GREW THE ECONOMY.
During the Bush years, despite the 2000 Recession, the attacks on 9-11, the stock market scandals, Hurricane Katrina, and wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the Bush Administration was able to reduce the budget deficit from 412 billion dollars in 2004 to 162 billion dollars in 2007, a sixty percent drop. In 2004 the federal budget deficit was 412 billion dollars. In 2005 it dropped to 318 billion dollars. In 2006 the deficit dipped to 248 billion dollars. And, in 2007 it fell below 200 billion to 162 billion dollars. During the Bush years the average unemployment rate was 5.2 percent, the economy saw the strongest productivity growth in four decades and there was robust GDP growth.
Not only were more jobs lost after the 9-11 attacks in 2001 than in the 2008 market crash, but more jobs were created by President Bush's pro-business policies and tax cuts than by the Obama-Pelosi "spend your way to hell" Keynesian failure.
THE REALITY – OBAMA'S BIG GOVERNMENT TAX & SPEND POLICIES CRIPPLED THE ECONOMY
Obama's trillion dollar stimulus package failed.
Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi tripled the national deficit last year by nearly a trillion dollars – something unheard of in our nation's history.
After an unheard of record deficit last year of $1.4 Trillion the economy is on track to experience a $1.3 Trillion deficit this year.
Now Obama wants you to believe that this was Bush's fault.
It's a lie.

Video: Elitist City Councilwoman has nuclear meltdown over taxpayers voicing opposition
Yikes. Jeanne Harris in particular is simply unhinged. The above video was shot a couple of weeks ago. Where is Harris now? Check this out:
After the city voted to close fire station #6 and layoff fire fighters due to lack of funds, council member Jeanne Harris is now on an all expenses paid $19,000 4 week tour of Europe as an ambassador of our city. This is city business, while the biggest project in our history is not? Should this city council be traveling the world as a role model? That's ruling class mentality all the way. Quash free speech, beat down taxpayers, lay a few of them off, and then go on vacation on their dime. This is the description of the problem in Vancouver:
Get some tea party mentality, Vancouver! Kick out ruling class liars like the numero uno on the Council:
The crisis is traffic congestion in Portland Oregon from the I-5 Columbia River Bridge to at least 5 miles south. The bait is a new bridge. But rather than widening the freeways in Portland to relieve that congestion, those Portland bottlenecks will remain. The switch is a massive bloated multi-billion dollar unrelated project that extends miles north in Washington that does nothing to solve Portland traffic congestion. The project turns existing Washington freeways into toll roads even if drivers don't cross the bridge into Oregon. Although voters defeated light rail by a large margin and voters are prevented from having an election to defeat it again, these politicians are determined to force light rail into the heart of Vancouver. Washington citizens are outraged as they awaken to the Bait-and-Switch scheme of incumbents that rule as dictators over their subjects.
