Hamas-linked CAIR to Muslims: Pat yourselves down in airport security checks

from Jihad Watch

Hamas-linked CAIR to Muslims: Pat yourselves down in airport security checks: "

'It's all right, kaffir, I have checked myself and found nothing!'

From a press release sent out by Hamas-linked CAIR -- a group that never saw an anti-jihad terror initiative that it could support -- today (thanks to Twostellas):

If you wear the Islamic head scarf and you are selected for secondary screening, ask the TSA officer if the reason you are being selected for secondary is because of your head scarf. If the officer confirms you were referred to secondary because of your head scarf, before you are patted down, you should remind the TSA officer, who should be of the same gender, that they are only supposed to pat down the area in question, in this scenario, your head and neck. They should not subject you to a full-body or partial-body pat-down. You can always request to pat down your own scarf, including head and neck area, and have the officer perform a residue swab of your hands.

The problem with that 'residue swab,' and with airport security in general, is that some explosive substances are undetectable by such methods.

Irony: Lame duck President padons turkey

Irony: Lame duck President padons turkey: "From the AP via The Detroit News: Obama spares turkeys 'shellacking' he got at polls
It's official: President Barack Obama has pardoned the National Thanksgiving Turkey.

Continuing a decades-old White House tradition, Obama issued pardons Wednesday to a gobbler named 'Apple' and its alternate, 'Cider.' The two 21-week-old, 45-pound turkeys were raised on a California farm.

Obama said it 'feels pretty good to stop at least one shellacking this November.'
That shellacking has left Obama a lame duck years early. So much the better. His goose is cooked because his policies are foul. Related, from The Onion: Obama Outlines Moral, Philosophical Justifications For Turkey Pardon

LA Gov Bobby Jindal: “We used to pay farmers not to grow crops, let's pay congressmen to stay out of Washington”

from theblogprof

LA Gov Bobby Jindal: “We used to pay farmers not to grow crops, let's pay congressmen to stay out of Washington”: "Actually, they still pay farmers - the big farming conglomerates, not mom and pop farms - not to grow crops, but anyway. From The Politico via memeorandum: Bobby Jindal: Make Congress part-time.
“We used to pay farmers not to grow crops, let's pay congressmen to stay out of Washington, D.C.,” Jindal said in an interview with Human Events. “Mark Twain said that our liberty, our wallets were safest when the legislature's not in session.”

Jindal, himself a former congressman, said once elected, many lawmakers become entrenched in Washington and become the very people they once campaigned against.

“Make them part-time, give them term limits,” Jindal said. “Don’t let them become lobbyists. When they have to live under the same rules and laws they pass for the rest of us, maybe you’d see some more common sense coming out of Washington, D.C.”

As the system works today, he said, “you’ve got a permanent governing political class.
In actuality, Congress is part-time. They are constitutionally required to convene only a handful of times each session. Article 1, Section 4 of the US Constitution reads in part:
The Congress shall assemble at least once in every Year...
But the constitution doesn't cap how many times they do meet, and thus the ruling class is satisfied with tormenting us constantly. Here's the Jindal interview over at Human Events:

Video: ObamaCare Putting Alzheimers Patients at Risk

from theblogprof

Video: ObamaCare Putting Alzheimers Patients at Risk: "As part of ObamaCare, there were four aspects that will be the doom of seniors if the whole thing isn't repealed. 1) $500 billion was pulled out of ObamaCare, 2) The 'doctor fix' that was supposed to make permanent a 20% cut in Medicare reimbursement and thus incentivize doctors to drop out of the program, and 3) two death panel boards that will decide what treatments seniors get, and more importantly, what they won't get due to cost. That latter part we call rationing. The 'doctor fix' is the focus of this segment on Fox Business Network:
I have said many times in this blog that the hardest hit by ObamaCare will end up being seniors. All government run plans have one end result - rationing. And what is rationed is that which is most expensive. And those that bear the brunt of the rationing are those that need those expensive procedures but who aren't expected to be paying much in the way of taxes - the elderly. From the bureaucrat's point of view, why care for the elderly that 1) don't pay taxes and 2) aren't going to live much longer anyway? That's liberal compassion, the same that a fetus gets at Planned Parenthood. This is the essence of comparative effectiveness that is at the heart of ObamaCare. Comparative effectiveness, as per Obama's rationing czar 'Dr.' Ezekiel Emanuel, takes only 2 things into consideration when denying or approving treatment: 1) age, 2) cost. Simple as that. It yields this ghoulish chart:This chart would be page 1 of the 'how to' guide of any death panel. Old people are too expensive to be worth keeping alive because they've already paid their taxes and are thus essentially useless to a totalitarian state. The very young too are of little value since they won't be paying taxes for a while yet. The people that should be treated are healthy people that pay taxes, but don't really need it because, well - they're mostly healthy. Welcome to ObamaCare, where people that don't need treatment get it, and those that need it don't. Step 1? Healthcare plans dropping seniors via the 'doctor fix':
This is of course by design: Video: Doctors Face 23% Cut in Medicare Payments due to ObamaCare. Just recently, the NYT's Paul Krugman said that death panels were needed to balance the budget (ie - kill seniors because they are too expensive). A couple of years ago, Obama adviser Robert Reich said this: Video: Obama Advisor Robert Reich To Elderly 'We're Going To Let You Die!' Liberals want you to die if some bureaucrat determines that you are too expensive to treat. By definition a death panel. Democrat Gary McDowell, who lost to Dan Benishek (R) for the seat of disgraced Judas turncoat Bart Stupak in Michigan's 1st Congressional district, admitted to a crowd of supporters that people near the end of their will get kicked down the stairs to save on cost. Even the White House admits that seniors will see higher costs and less benefits, something they wouldn't do in the runup to the unconstitutional boondoggle.

CBO Says Effect Of Stimulus Plan Waning (There was an Effect?)

from YID With LID

CBO Says Effect Of Stimulus Plan Waning (There was an Effect?): "

If you are looking for help from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) commonly known as the Porkulus plan you may be a bit too late. The CBO released a report on the effect of ARRA on Employment and economic output from July 2010- September 2010 and found the effects of Porkulus on output peaked in the first half of 2010 and are now diminishing, and the effects on employment are expected to wane gradually beginning in the fourth quarter.

I know what you are thinking, what effect?

The CBO suggests that the ARRA raised the GDP, lowered unemployment, and increased the number of people with jobs even though most Americans haven't noticed. It also concludes (based on economic models) July through September stimulus spending “increased the number of people employed by between 1.4 million and 3.6 million.” I guess these people forgot to tell anyone they had a job.

Those mystery effects on the economy are almost over. The CBO estimates 70% of the budget impact ended with the fiscal year that ended in September. It suggests the impact on growth peaked and is now “diminishing” and the impact on unemployment will “wane gradually” in the current fourth quarter.

Keep in mind all of these employment estimates come from "computer models" and estimates based on historic trends. The only sure thing from this report is that most of the money has run out (they can track the spending).

Either way, if you feel the stimulus didn't work for you, based on the latest CBO report, its not going to ever work. You can read the full report below:

Taunting Secretary Gates: A Red Card for Bolivia’s Morales

On the way to a defense ministerial in Bolivia, Secretary of Defense Robert Gates was asked about Iran's growing presence in South America, particularly in Bolivia and Venezuela. He answered most cautiously:

Bolivia, obviously, can have relationships with any country in the world that it wishes to. … But I think Bolivia needs to be mindful of the number of United Nations Security Council resolutions that have been passed with respect to Iran's behavior.

Gates said exactly what Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said last year. Nevertheless, at the defense ministerial—designed to advance inter-American security cooperation—Gates, in the best Obama Administration manner, offered an olive branch to his Bolivian hosts.

As a hemisphere, we are more tightly linked than ever; never before has our collective well-being depended so much on one another. As Peru's recent Nobel Laureate Mario Vargas Llosa once said, "one can't fight with oneself, for this battle has only one loser."

For his effort at diplomacy, Gates was taunted for an hour by Bolivia's populist authoritarian president, Evo Morales. In a raging discourse, Morales, playing the role of victim and winner, said the following:

  • He claimed that the U.S (under Presidents Bush and Obama) have/are working to destabilize Latin America, plotting coups and assassinations;
  • Despite "U.S. interventions," the people's revolutions are ahead in the game. Claimed Morales: "Latin American compatriots, we must recognize that the U.S. beat us in Honduras, the North American empire beat us. But the people of America also won in Venezuela, Bolivia and Ecuador. The score is 3–1"
  • He accused U.S. Representative Connie Mack (R–FL) of being "a confessed assassin" and "conspiratorial agent against our brother Hugo Chavez."

For a player like Morales, who makes the rules as he goes, taunting the Secretary of Defense and the U.S. was all in a day's work.

On Iran, Morales proclaimed: "Bolivia under my government will have an agreement, an alliance, to anyone in the world! Nobody will forbid us!" Read: the U.S. has no international or moral authority to comment on any alliance or friendship that Bolivia chooses to make, particularly with Iran.

The Gates fiasco in Bolivia yields four takeaway points:

  1. While he may not be the nightmare to the U.S. he longs to be, Morales demonstrated in his speech a quantity of venom, a lack of restraint, and complete disrespect for the U.S. that befits a bully and tyrant. It is time for the U.S. to speak up and go on the offense.
  2. The State Department's tireless efforts to curry favor with Morales continue to fall on stony soil. They should cease.
  3. Regional organizations like the Organization of American States and events such as the Defense Ministerials of the Americas cannot bridge the ideological divides and pacify bad actors. Senior U.S. officials do not have to travel and pay to be publicly humiliated.
  4. Our new U.S. Congress needs to look closely at aid to Bolivia, whose president insults cabinet members, attacks individual Members of Congress, and appears to be doing quite fine with Venezuelan, Cuban, Iranian, and Russian help.

Congress and the Obama Administration should give Morales a red card.

Breaking: Nurses Union Was Behind Illegal Alien Maid’s Attack on Meg Whitman

The California Nurses Union was behind the last minute attack on Meg Whitman. The radical union pushed illegal alien Nicky Diaz in her accusations against Republican Meg Whitman.

Illegal alien Nicky Diaz lashed out at Whitman for not buying her baby a present.

The San Francisco Chronicle reported:

One of the most tantalizing mysteries in California's 2010 gubernatorial election involved the connection between one of the state's poorest women and one of its wealthiest.

How did an undocumented, Mexican-born housekeeper, Nicandra Diaz Santillan, end up in the national spotlight, boldly confronting her former boss, billionaire GOP gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman?

The short answer: with the help of a union.

The longer answer is that at the height of the gubernatorial race, as campaign ads blared on Spanish-language television, the aggrieved housekeeper was determined to tell Californians her story of being abruptly fired by Whitman after nearly a decade on the job.

In early September, Diaz turned to a friend who knew a member of the powerful, Oakland-based California Nurses Association, The Chronicle has learned.

The union called in two lawyers for Diaz:
Marc Van Der Hout, a longtime immigration attorney in San Francisco, and celebrity feminist attorney Gloria Allred, a fierce workplace rights litigator who arranged for Diaz to tell her story in a live-webcast news conference.

Asked to confirm her organization's role in Diaz's case, Rose Ann DeMoro, the nurses union executive director, said Monday, "I won't deny it, but I prefer not to comment directly on the case.

Thank Capitalism on Thanksgiving Day

During Thanksgiving Day, most families gather around a bountiful feast and give thanks for all the blessings in their lives. As nearly everyone was taught in primary school, the origin of Thanksgiving traces back to the first plentiful feast held between Puritan settlers and the Wampanoag Indians in the 1620's. Unfortunately, the official story of Thanksgiving leaves out quite a few important details.

Sadly, few Americans know the real story of the early colonists. For evidence of the failures of communism, we do not need to look to disastrous experiments in foreign lands. In fact, the Plymouth Plantation is one of the most apparent examples of the failures of collectivism.

Centuries before the Communist Manifesto was even published, the Pilgrims set up an economic system that looked similar to the "utopia" advocated by Karl Marx. In the early plantation, there was no such thing as private property or division of labor. It was even forbidden for an individual to produce their own food. All food and supplies were held in common. Plantation officials were supposed to equally distribute goods to all. Plymouth County Governor William Bradford wrote, "the taking away of property, and bringing in community into a common wealth, would make them happy and flourishing." Needless to say, the colonists didn't live happily ever after.

The Pilgrims experienced chronic food shortages. Half of the Pilgrims died or went back to England in the first year alone. Governor William Bradford writes in this diary, "So as it well appeared that the famine must still ensue the next year, also, if not some way prevented." In most classrooms, students learn that various external factors are to blame for the Pilgrim's suffering. But as economics Professor Benjamin Powell states, "Bad weather or lack of farming knowledge did not cause the pilgrims' shortages. Bad economic incentives did."

Incentives matter. Since all colonists received the same rations whether they contributed or not, there was little incentive to actually help produce any food. People quickly realized that it was easier to do nothing and still get rewarded. Despite their Puritan religious convictions, many Pilgrims stole food from one another. Other settlers faked illnesses to get out of work. It was a deadly disaster.

In 1661 and 1662, the Pilgrims and Wampanoag Indians did share two meals together. But it wasn't until the "miracle of 1663" that they celebrated a bountiful feast like we do today. As Governor William Bradford wrote that year, "instead of famine now God gave them plenty." This was the year that Bradford switched to a more capitalist system.

After three winters of misery, Governor William Bradford finally changed course. He began to note the flaws of communism, "For this community (so far as it was) was found to breed much confusion and discontent and retard much employment that would have been to their benefit and comfort."

Private property saved the Pilgrims. The Governor decided to assign "every family a parcel of land" to do with it as they saw fit. Some kept what they produced and others mutually exchanged goods with other Pilgrims. Finally, families could enjoy the fruits of their own labor. The results were dramatic. Never again did they face starvation and food shortages comparable to those dreaded first years. The greater system of property rights allowed everyone to live a richer and fuller life.

In 1683, Governor William Bradford states that this more capitalism system "had very good success for it made all hands very industrious, so as much more corn was planted than otherwise would have been. By this time harvest was come…the face of things was changed, to the rejoicing of the hearts of many."

Before we sit down to consume our plentiful Thanksgiving meal, we ought to thank capitalism. It has enabled America to become the freest and richest country ever known to man. Let us not forget the lessons of colonial America: communism will always fail to produce a happy and prosperous society.

The Pilgrims and Property Rights or, How our Ancestors Got Fat and Happy

The Pilgrims founded their colony at Plymouth Plantation in December 1620 and promptly started dying off in droves.

As the colony's early governor, William Bradford, wrote in "Of Plymouth Plantation":

That which was most sadd & lamentable was, that in 2. or 3. moneths time halfe of their company dyed.

When the settlers finally stopped croaking, they set about creating a heaven on earth, a society without private property, where all worked for the common good. Everything was shared. Especially bitching and moaning about working for the common good. Bradford again:

Yong-men that were most able and fitte for labour and service did repine that they should spend their time and streingth to worke for other mens wives and children, with out any recompense….And for men's wives to be commanded to doe service for other men, as dresing their meate, washing their cloaths, etc., they deemed it a kind of slavery, neither could many husbands well brooke it.

With nobody working, everybody was suffering. And in case you think nobody was working simply because they couldn't understand a damn thing Bradford was saying, chew on this: In 1623, Bradford and the other leaders

…assigned to every family a parceel of land…this had very good success; for it made all hands very industrious, so as much more torne was planted then other waise would have bene by any means the Govr or any other could use, and saved him a great deall of trouble, and gave farr better contente.

In no time at all

any generall wante of famine hath not been amongest them since to this day.

America would never go hungry again. So this week, before you drift into your annual tryptophan-induced coma, don't forget to give thanks to the true patron of this holiday feast: property rights.

Rocker Springstein Bashes Americans For Not Supporting Obama’s Radical Agenda

It looks like it's time to torch a few Springstein CDs.
The idiot leftist rocker bashed Americans for not supporting Obama's radical agenda.

The Telegraph
reported, via FOX Nation:

The 61 year-old rock legend, a high-profile supporter of the US President, railed against critics for their use of the "most extreme language" to describe "the most modest reforms" being introduced by Mr Obama.

The singer-songwriter, whose song The Rising became a theme of the Democrats' "Vote for Change" events, said there was a "tremendous distortion of information" in American politics.

The "Born in the USA singer", who has won 20 Grammys award, an Oscar and sold more than 120m records worldwide, appeared to also blame wealthy Washington lobbyists for hampering Mr Obama's reform agenda.

"There's a widespread political consciousness that's perhaps deeper in Europe than it is in the States," he told the Sunday Times magazine.

"The climate [in America] is very, very ugly for getting things done. The moderate reforms President Obama fought to make are called Marxist, socialist.

"I mean, the most extreme language is put into play to describe the most modest reforms that would move the economy back towards serving a majority of its citizens."

Maybe The Boss didn't notice but federal spending is up 84% under Obama, the deficit has tripled, unemployment has doubled and he's nationalized anything he can get his hands on.
Keep to singing, Springstein.

Thanks Barack… CHINA & RUSSIA QUIT DOLLAR!

More Hope and Change…

THANKS BARACK!
China and Russia decided to renounce the US dollar and use their own currencies for bilateral trades.

China Daily
reported:

China and Russia have decided to renounce the US dollar and resort to using their own currencies for bilateral trade, Premier Wen Jiabao and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin announced late on Tuesday.

Chinese experts said the move reflected closer relations between Beijing and Moscow and is not aimed at challenging the dollar, but to protect their domestic economies.

"About trade settlement, we have decided to use our own currencies," Putin said at a joint news conference with Wen in St. Petersburg.

The two countries were accustomed to using other currencies, especially the dollar, for bilateral trade. Since the financial crisis, however, high-ranking officials on both sides began to explore other possibilities.

The yuan has now started trading against the Russian rouble in the Chinese interbank market, while the renminbi will soon be allowed to trade against the rouble in Russia, Putin said.

"That has forged an important step in bilateral trade and it is a result of the consolidated financial systems of world countries," he said.

Putin made his remarks after a meeting with Wen. They also officiated at a signing ceremony for 12 documents, including energy cooperation.

The documents covered cooperation on aviation, railroad construction, customs, protecting intellectual property, culture and a joint communiqu. Details of the documents have yet to be released.

This comes after the Fed pumped $600 billion into the economy earlier this month.

Already the dollar has lost 13% against the Japanese yen this year. And even the euro, which was battered by the European debt crisis this spring, has gained 18% against the dollar since June.

More… Business Insider added this, via Free Republic:

It's not the end of the world if the dollar isn't the world's sole reserve currency. It certainly hasn't been bad for the yen, or the Singapore dollar, or the Swiss Franc — all widely respected and used global currencies — that aren't THE RESERVE CURRENCY. There's plenty of stuff to freak out about. This is not one of those things.

How Capitalism Saved the Pilgrims

By Daniel Griswold

When I was growing up, my father would occasionally tell me the story around this time of year of how private property rights saved the Pilgrims from starvation.

When the Pilgrims first arrived in 1620, as my father told the story, they tried to live communally according to the spirit of the Mayflower Compact. What crops they grew were put in a common storehouse and then apportioned according to each family's need. The small colony struggled to survive for two or three years until its leaders declared that every family henceforth would be responsible for growing its own food. The new system proved much superior at putting food on the table.

Years later, when I was writing editorials for the Colorado Springs Gazette, I would tell the story in print on Thanksgiving Day, this time quoting from Governor William Bradford's first-hand account. One of my fellow editors objected to my version, claiming it was Squanto the friendly Indian who saved the Pilgrims by teaching them how to fertilize their crops with dead fish. We agreed to disagree and I stuck to my version.

Earlier this year, as I was reading Nathaniel Philbrick's bestselling book, Mayflower: A Story of Courage, Community, and War (New York: Penguin Books, 2007, paperback edition), I came across a passage that weighs in decisively on our editorial dispute. It appears my father did know best after all.

From page 165 of Mayflower:

The fall of 1623 marked the end of Plymouth's debilitating food shortages. For the last two planting seasons, the Pilgrims had grown crops communally–the approach first used at Jamestown and other English settlements. But as the disastrous harvest of the previous fall had shown, something drastic needed to be done to increase the annual yield.

In April, Bradford had decided that each household should be assigned its own plot to cultivate, with the understanding that each family kept whatever it grew. The change in attitude was stunning. Families were now willing to work much harder than they had ever worked before. In previous years, the men had tended the fields while the women tended the children at home. "The women now went willingly into the field," Bradford wrote, "and took their little ones with them to set corn." The Pilgrims had stumbled on the power of capitalism. Although the fortunes of the colony still teetered precariously in the years ahead, the inhabitants never again starved.

Among the many things I'm thankful for this week is that I live in a country that was founded on the solid rock of property rights and free markets.

Morning Bell: Stop Treating Everyone As An Equal Threat

The Associated Press reported yesterday that "cabinet secretaries, top congressional leaders and an exclusive group of senior U.S. officials are exempt from toughened new airport screening procedures when they fly commercially with government-approved federal security details." The article goes on to report that while the rest of the public is still subject to either a body scanner or "an intimate personal pat-down," as of Friday the Transportation Security Administration had exempted pilots from the procedure, and then on Tuesday they added flight attendants to the exemption list.

Americans have every right to be upset about this double standard. But the solution is not ending the exemption for government officials, pilots, and flight attendants. The solution is ending the blanket body scanner requirement altogether. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano says the TSA is taking a "risk-based, layered security approach." But the TSA's continued policy of pat-downs or body scans for all suggests otherwise.

Our nation does still face a real threat from terrorists intent on attacking passenger air travel. But that threat simply does not justify the indiscriminate use of body scanners for primary screening. The TSA should not be targeting all passengers equally. Instead, the TSA should be practicing "focused security" that directs the most resources against the greatest risks. Programs like Secure Flight could be used to allow low-risk passengers about whom a great deal is known to pass through unmolested. Leisure travelers like families traveling together would receive cursory inspection. Then the TSA could focus the lion's share of its resources on high-risk passengers about whom either nothing is known or there is specific negative information.

The best security is intelligence and law enforcement that finds and stops the bad people before they get near the plane. Pretending that everyone is a risk, as the TSA does now, is a weak substitute for intelligence. Most of this physical screening going on now has no place in primary inspection lines. There should be some common-sense screening at the airport, but let's stop pretending that that is the best line of defense. The TSA must back off forcing all travelers to go through body scanners.

Good news: Each $1 in Higher Taxes Results in $1.17 of New Spending

From the Wall Street Journal via taxprof via Instapundit: Higher Taxes Won't Reduce the Deficit
The draft recommendations of the president's commission on deficit reduction call for closing popular tax deductions, higher gas taxes and other revenue raisers to drive tax collections up to 21% of GDP from the historical norm of about 18.5%. Another plan, proposed last week by commission member and former Congressional Budget Office director Alice Rivlin, would impose a 6.5% national sales tax on consumers.

The claim here, echoed by endless purveyors of conventional wisdom in Washington, is that these added revenues—potentially a half-trillion dollars a year—will be used to reduce the $8 trillion to $10 trillion deficits in the coming decade. If history is any guide, however, that won't happen. Instead, Congress will simply spend the money.

In the late 1980s, one of us, Richard Vedder, and Lowell Gallaway of Ohio University co-authored a often-cited research paper for the congressional Joint Economic Committee (known as the $1.58 study) that found that every new dollar of new taxes led to more than one dollar of new spending by Congress. Subsequent revisions of the study over the next decade found similar results.

We've updated the research. Using standard statistical analyses that introduce variables to control for business-cycle fluctuations, wars and inflation, we found that over the entire post World War II era through 2009 each dollar of new tax revenue was associated with $1.17 of new spending. Politicians spend the money as fast as it comes in—and a little bit more.

We also looked at different time periods (e.g., 1947-2009 vs. 1959-2009), different financial data (fiscal year federal budget data, as well as calendar year National Income and Product Account data from the Bureau of Economic Analysis), different lag structures (e.g., relating taxes one year to spending change the following year to allow for the time it takes bureaucracies to spend money), different control variables, etc. The alternative models produce different estimates of the tax-spend relationship—between $1.05 and $1.81. But no matter how we configured the data and no matter what variables we examined, higher tax collections never resulted in less spending.

This is exactly the opposite of what the tax-increase lobby in Washington is preaching today. For example, Erskine Bowles, co-chairman of the president's deficit reduction commission, suggested at a briefing several months ago that there will be $3 of spending cuts for every $1 of tax increases. Sound familiar? Reagan used to complain that he waited his entire presidency for the $3 of spending cuts that Congress promised for every dollar of new taxes he agreed to in 1982. The cuts never came.

We're constantly told by politicos that tax increases must be put "on the table" to get congressional Democrats—who've already approved close to $1 trillion of new spending in violation of their own budget rules over the last two years—to agree to make cuts in the unsustainable entitlement programs like Medicare and Social Security.

Our research indicates this is a sucker play. After the 1990 and 1993 tax increases, federal spending continued to rise. The 1990 tax increase deal was enacted specifically to avoid automatic spending sequestrations that would have been required under the then-prevailing Gramm-Rudman budget rules.
And it goes on and on. In more recent history, every tax dollar extra confiscated form productive citizens lead to far more than $1.17 in more government spending: Every $1 In Tax Increases Produces $1.91 In Added Govt Spending
Any new taxes, and there are plenty coming down the pike, go to extra spending measures, not debt reduction. So says the data as explained by Rep. Kevin Brady, (R-Texas):
The solution? Starve the heroin addict of heroine. Or as Rick Santilli says - "STOP SPENDING!:"

John Conyers caught on video openly checking out naked women in Playboy on plane to DC

The GOP red wave swept Michigan Republicans into total control. The GOP controls the Michigan executive branch, the House, Senate and Supreme Court (yes we elect our judges and they are accountable to us). As such redistricting Michigan's 15 districts (soon to be 14 because MI has been the butt of national jokes for the last 8 years and because the census showed population loss, but mostly because the census showed population loss). But there are two districts that cannot be touched - districts 13 and 14 in Detroit - because of a part of the Voting Rights Act (which IMO doesn't apply to MI because it was not a slave state. Like ever). As such, those districts - gerrymandered for the black vote - are in firm Democrat hands. How firm? So much so that district 14s Rep - John Conyers - can do as he pleases without worry, including reading porn openly on his flights to DC. Get a load of this video taken on an airplane by a passenger sitting 2 seats from Conyers:
Henry Payne over at The Michigan View magnifies clips of the above video:
Ironically, Conyers is seen here doing more reading than he did with the ObamaCare bill that he voted for (Video of MI Rep. John Conyers: "I'm not going to do my job. Screw actually reading the bills!"). The guy can apparently tell you who Mrs. November is, but can't tell you what's in the US Constitution (Video: John Conyers (D-MI) claims ObamaCare mandate constitutional because of nonexistant "good and welfare" clause in US Constitution). From Henry's piece this morning: Mr. Smut goes to Washington
via Republican Michigander
The video and pictures – first posted by ex-Detroit News reporter and New York Times Pulitzer Prize winner Charlie LeDuff on his Facebook page – were taken by an anonymous passenger seated two seats from Conyers (see video here). Conyers – in his aisle seat – is shown flipping though pages showing two nude gal pals in the August issue of Playboy. And he also apparently reads Hefner's product for the articles. The pages he lingers on appear to feature an article entitled "La Chatte" by Maureen Gibbon, on article exploring lesbian sex.

Of course, Mr. Conyers is the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, so it is entirely possible he is preparing for a committee hearing on the legal definition of pornography. Or perhaps he is studying new TSA pat-down procedures for female passengers.
John "too many white people on your staff" Conyers (D-Detroit), who by the way was caught using government payroll employees as indentured servants (including driving his kids to the best private school in the area while his constituents kids wallow in the filth of DPS - the worst school district in the nation), was also caught up in his wife's scandal ( House ethics complaint filed against John Conyers, links to Monica). Nothing came of that of course as Pelosi's House is ethically challenged (Charlie Rangel is getting a slap on the wrist for tax evasion after all). In April, Conyers used the "teabagger" slur on openly on the radio, and called the tea party "small and dismissive" to a group of socialists where he was caught on video trumpeting a 1-world government. A few years ago his staff stole 60 turkeys from a charity just before those same turkeys were to be donated to the poor and downtrodden just before Thanksgiving. (The1,000 turkeys donated to help needy families this year ought be under guard looking for his staff)

So all of the above begs the question: WHAT DOES THIS GUY HAVE TO DO TO BE KICKED OUT OF OFFICE? Whatever it is, he's willing and able. Really - he'll try it. Just for kicks as he gets re-elected over and over again.

CHINA AND RUSSIA QUIT THE DOLLAR

Is this the beginning of the End? Is the dollar about to finally collapse?  Not today but maybe tomorrow or the day after. China and Russia have announced they will no longer use the US dollar for bilateral trade and from now on will use their own currency.

China says the move represents concern about the stability if the American Currency.

Sun Zhuangzhi, a senior researcher in Central Asian studies at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, said the new mode of trade settlement between China and Russia follows a global trend after the financial crisis exposed the faults of a dollar-dominated world financial system.

Pang Zhongying, who specializes in international politics at Renmin University of China, said the proposal is not challenging the dollar, but aimed at avoiding the risks the dollar represents.
China has been concerned about the dollar for months, back in February they started to reduce their American holdings:
"The Chinese are worried that we have unsustainable debt levels, and we do not have a policy for dealing with it," Meltzer said.
He said the Chinese worry that confidence in the U.S. government's ability to repay its debt could erode. That would cause the value of Treasurys and the dollar to fall — and lead to losses on Beijing's' U.S. debt holdings.
The Fed's latest quantitative easing move (banker talk for devaluing the a currency) is another factor in the Russian/Chinese move. Creating $600 billion dollars out of nothing and its corresponding damage to the American dollar has been criticized worldwide, making it even more urgent that the Russians and Chinese protect their investments.

AP Exclusive: AP sources: Colorless terror alerts?

AP Exclusive: AP sources: Colorless terror alerts?: "WASHINGTON (AP) — The Homeland Security Department is proposing to discontinue the color-coded terror alert system that became a symbol of the country’s post-9/11 jitters and the butt of late-night talk show jokes.
The 8-year-old system, with its rainbow of five colors — from green, signifying a low threat, to red, meaning severe — became a [...]"

TIME FOR I TOLD YOU SO; And For War…It’s Inevitable Now: "
By: Resa LaRu Kirkland

Let’s dispense from the beginning with the idea that more “sternly-worded letters,” sanctions, condemnations, or talks (serious this time!) are the answer to North Korea’s dual declarations of war. They have NEVER worked, because when dealing with evil, you must speak to it in the language it understands. Evil only understands violence.

And yes, it’s time for violence.

It gives me no pleasure to say so, but the pattern of history has borne out this truth: there will never be peace so long as only one side is willing to abide by the rules for peace.

The pictures coming from Yeonpeyong, South Korea, are chillingly reminiscent of Pearl Harbor. But did we get the “a date which will live in infamy” speech, which Pres. Roosevelt delivered only 1 day after the December 7, 1941 attack?

Nope.

Here’s what we got from the Eunuch in Chief: “…too soon to discuss ways the U.S. military might deter the reclusive communist state from another strike.”

And from his lapdog Stephen Bosworth: “I would not at all accept that our policy toward North Korea is a failure,” Bosworth said after flying to Seoul to meet South Korean officials. “They are a difficult interlocutor,” he said of the North, “but we’re not throwing our policy away.”

While the North’s uranium program is disappointing and provocative, he told reporters, it isn’t surprising. “This is not a crisis.”

The best lines are from PJ Crowley: “…the Obama administration would take its time to assess the available information. He said the revelation of the new uranium enrichment facility would violate Pyongyang’s obligation to stop pursuing nuclear weapons but also may be what he called a ‘publicity stunt.’”

But my personal favorite came from State Department spokesman Mark Toner, who called North Korea’s actions “very, very bad.”

I guess their answer is to send NoKo to bed without any supper. I did not know this level of denial existed outside of Egypt.

But Obama has a point; I mean, if the sinking of a South Korean navy ship and the killing of 46 South Koreans in March wasn’t enough for us to consider violence against the violent, 200 artillery shells and a lousy 2 deaths certainly won’t qualify.

When I wrote DA PLANE! DA PLANE! When Did We Become Fantasy Island? last week, I was the only one who believed and warned that the LA missile was from North Korea. I don’t deny that China aided and abetted, perhaps even supplied weaponry or the submarine. That’s because China has long told us they would reign in NoKo, but the actions of both countries for over a decade now clearly indicate they were mere words.

I have said it over and over again in past articles: when the sh*t hits the fan, China WILL back, support, and use North Korean aggression to achieve their goals as outlined in their manifesto. Goals which have never, ever changed.

But don’t just believe me. Let’s look at the clues of just the past 8 months that lead any reasonable, NON-psychotic person to that very conclusion. (Hippies, avert your eyes…logic and truth are NOT your friends.)

March 26, 2010 – Sinking of the South Korean Cheonan Cruiser by North Korean torpedoes, 46 South Korean sailors murdered in the unprovoked attack.

August 26, 2010 Kim Jong-il visits China, supposedly to ask for a do-over on the six party talks. It was his second trip to China in a year, and incidents to follow call into question whether or not the discussion was really that benign.

September 2010 – North Korea makes overtures to South Korea—again—and hurriedly makes Kim Jong-il’s youngest son, Kim Jong-un, said to be 26, vice chairman of the central military commission of the Worker’s party. He’s made a four star general. (snort)

October 10, 2010It’s official: Kim Jong-un will fill his daddy’s tiny shoes.

October 10, 2010 –On the same day, during a parade to honor Un, NoKo unveils new Musudan submarine-launched Intermediate-Range Ballistic Missile based on Russia’s R-27 sub-launched missile.

October 27, 2010 NoKo hilarious propaganda outrage over US refusal to accept their “research” into how the sinking of the Cheonan was not caused by them. It’s good for a laugh, their denial of their nutless history regarding trustworthiness.

November 4, 2010Cuba’s Raul Castro meets with Vice-Chairman of North Korea’s military Ri Yong Ho, who left NoKo on October 28 for the meeting.

November 8, 2010The LA Mystery Missile is born, and in spite of what multiple American Generals know, what multiple military analysts know, and what our own eyes saw, the Pentagon sells out and demands it was most definitely NOT a missile, but provides NO evidence of the plane it insists it is. WARCHICK warns on Facebook and Twitter: This is North Korea, mark my words. Everyone laughs.

November 10, 2010A Red Blaze is seen behind the Empire State Building. Just a plane, you people who have been seeing Condensation Trails (contrails) for over 40 years now are stupid and don’t know what you’re seeing. Move along.

November 11, 2010Another Mystery Missile, this time on the other side of the States, in Queens, NY. Again, it’s only a plane, nothing to see here.

November 21, 2010 – The world is shocked when Professor Siegfried Hecker reveals an astonishingly modern and advanced covert Uranium Enrichment Plant North Korea eagerly showed him.

November 22, 2010 – As a result of the revelation of NoKo AGAIN breaking their word (do they even know what that phrase means? Do we?), US pushes (more like butterfly kisses) NoKo to AGAIN abandon nuclear ambitions.

November 23, 2010 – In response to America’s “Pretty Please?” NoKo launches 200 artillery shells on the South Korean island of Yeonpeyong. White House crickets chirp.

November 23, 2010 – WARCHICK gets last laugh, but finds it patently un-funny, yells and throws things at TV, and AGAIN breaks down the obvious for the Reality TV crowd and those assuming Kingship along Egypt’s most famous river.

And our response to every violent NoKo action?

“North Korea, that was very naughty of you. How about more money and aid?”

Look, people. All of these sky sightings are NOT coincidence, for there is no such thing. We are about to see a world war, and the forces of Islam and Communism—hence the term I coined ISLAMMUNISM—have been planning for almost 2 decades now. It is upon us, and we’ve been down this road too many times in the past 2 centuries to feign ignorance as to what to do now. WE KNOW WHAT TO DO; IT’S THE APPLICATION WHERE WE’RE FAILING.

“But as ye have once rejected these things, and have fought against the people of the Lord, even so I may expect you will do it again…

“…But behold, it supposeth me that I talk to you concerning these things in vain; or it supposeth me that thou art a child of hell…

“…I will come against you with my armies; yea, even I will arm my women and my children, and I will come against you, and I will follow you even into your own land…and it shall be blood for blood, yea, life for life; and I will give you battle even until you are destroyed from off the face of the earth.

“Behold, I am in my anger, and also my people; ye have sought to murder us, and we have only sought to defend ourselves. But behold, if ye seek to destroy us more we will seek to destroy you…”
–epistle from Capt. Moroni to the wicked Ammoron, Alma 54: 8,11,12-13, Book of Mormon

THAT is how you SPEAK to evil; THAT is how you ACT toward evil!

Sh*t, meet fan. Don’t know how to say it in Chinese, and wouldn’t even if I did. I’m an American, and I speak English…and now, violence, because THAT is the language they understand.

Keep the faith, bros, in all things courage, and no substitute for VICTORY.
