Video of Chris Matthews Asking O'Donnell's Opponent: Shouldn't Her Christianity Prevent Her From Run
Does anyone even watch his show anymore? As I have pointed out several times in this blog, this country was founded by Christians to glorify Jesus Christ. The Founding Fathers were Christians. The very authors of the 1st amendment used federal money to build churches, print Bibles, and promote (but not establish) Christianity. Church service was held in the Capitol building and most other federal buildings. You can still see that history in the Capitol building itself:
Even our Supreme Court had this to say:
"These and many other matters which might be noticed, add a volume of unofficial declarations to the mass of organic utterances that this is a Christian nation." - Supreme Court of the United States of America, HOLY TRINITY CHURCH v. THE UNITED STATES, 1892You need only look at the historical evidence, which I'm sure someone in the Obama regime is targeting for the shredding machine. Chris Matthews, and others like him, don't know their history, most likely because they knwo what is there and don't want to know it. That would be willful suspension of truth. Biden’s Friday Doc Dump: Defending the Indefensible Stimulus Package
Vice President Joe Biden released a glossy looking report (PDF) on Friday, September 17, 2010, purporting to defend the regime's $814 billion stimulus package. Entitled "100 Recovery Act Projects that are Changing America," it's got to be the much anticipated Friday Doc Dump. Because, well, it's nothing more than a defense of the indefensible.
I read the whole report, and my analysis shows that of the 100 projects—costing a total $8.3 billion of borrowed taxpayer money—92 of them reported jobs 16,693 jobs "saved or created." The projects showing job impacts cost approximately $7.5 billion, for an average cost per job created (or saved) of $447,019.41.
That's FOUR HUNDRED, FORTY-SEVEN THOUSAND, NINETEEN DOLLARS AND FORTY ONE CENTS PER JOB "SAVED OR CREATED?!?"
THIS is the 100 best? This is supposed to demonstrate the wonderful things we are saddling our children with billions in debt for?
As a frame of reference, the median household income in the US is about $50,000, meaning that for these projects that are "changing America," the government spent nine times the amount of a typical job's income. It's changing us, alright.
A few examples of the galling waste:
- The Nevada "Smart Grid" project, worth an estimated $137.9 million, "created or saved" 60 jobs for a per-job average of $2.3 million.
- A123, a battery manufacturer in Livonia, Michigan used $249 million to build factories that "created or saved" 90 jobs. Average: $2.8 million.
- The Kansas Broadband upgrade project cost $49.5 million and saved a grand total of nine jobs for a $5.0 million per job average.
- New dormitories at Keesler Air Force Base in Mississippi: $621,000 per job.
- A new roof for the Bean Federal Center in Indianapolis: $592,000 per job.
Some of the projects in the report didn't even bother to estimate the number of jobs "created or saved," and for good reason. They didn't create or save any. The Dallas County Hospital District borrowed $680 million to finance a hospital construction project that would have been built anyway. The impact: Transferring both the credit risk and the financing costs to the taxpayer for zero net job creation. But that's not all! Call in the next 20 minutes and you'll get our special $15 million deal to build electric car charging stations, $50 million to build solar panels that were going to be built anyway AND this exclusive $39 million New York Broadband upgrade!
This is not "absolutely headed in the right direction." This is headed right over a raging waterfall, and the only corner we've turned is the last river bend before the shoals. If this money were put in the hands of taxpayers and small businesses, this recovery summer wouldn't be such a train wreck.
The list of the 92 projects, with their estimate price tags and estimated numbers of jobs created or saved appear in the table below. The data comes straight from the report.

Figures. Dems Steal New Logo From Toilet Maker
It was billed as a major announcement that would excite democrats across the nation.
A new logo?
But, sadly this wasn't an original design.
IMAO discovered that the idea was stolen from a toilet bowl manufacturer.
Hah!
Inspired by this revelation, A True Obamanation created several bumper stickers including this one:

Good News: 3rd Detroit City Council Member Faces Foreclosure, Detroit Still $300+ Million In The Hol
- Charles Pugh is now the City Council President since he was the top vote-getter. Pugh is a homosexual and gay activist that campaigned in so-called churches (Detroit Democrats Campaigning In Churches; Support Separation Of Church And State, Except When They Don't) and foreclosed on his condo (Change not allowed! Detroit council candidates face foreclosures, debts). And he's supposed to fix a City budget $350+ million in the hole?
- Kwame Kenyatta, elected in 2005, walked away from his home on Bretton after defaulting on his mortgage. (Detroit councilman Kwame Kenyatta sending "jingle mail") And he's supposed to fix a City budget $350+ million in the hole?
How is it that she can't afford a $160,000 condo on her $81,000 salary? And how is she going to fix Detroit's debt problem when she can't fix her own? And don't for a minute think that these 3 City Council members are the only ones with problems. These are just the foreclosures. As I wrote back last November: New Detroit City Council Members Have Financial Problems, Debt, Tax Evasion Record. That includes these:Jenkins acknowledged she's facing financial problems. She said she explored a short-sale, concluded it wasn't viable and will probably walk away and lose the condo. It's due to be sold Sept. 29.
Just because I can't balance my checkbook doesn't mean I can't balance Detroit's
- JoAnn Watson is a property tax evader. (Detroit City Councilwoman JoAnn Watson To Get Away With Evading Property Taxes) Right after she started working for John Conyers, her property taxes dropped from around $5,000 to $68 as her property was reclassified as a vacant lot. She blames a tornado that somehow damaged her house (damage she never reported) but none of her neighbors. A fluke of nature? Nope. Just plain vanilla tax evasion. How is it that Watson spearheaded an effort to go after taxpayers who skirt their property taxes? How responsible is it to allow this tax cheat to have any say of Detroit's finances?
- Brenda Jones and Ken Cockrel Jr have already been serving on a Council that has run Detroit into the ground.

Another Dem Success Story: LA Spends $111 Million in Stimulus Cash to Create 55 Jobs
Another Democratic Success Story…
Los Angeles has used $111 million in stimulus cash to create a whopping 55 jobs.
Via LACP.org:
Continuing her efforts to ensure that taxpayer money is spent efficiently and effectively, City Controller Wendy Greuel released two audits today of how the City of Los Angeles has used American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funds. The audits looked at the how the two departments that have received the largest amount of ARRA funding so far – the Department of Transportation (LADOT) and the Department of Public Works (DPW) – have used those funds and how many jobs were created. Los Angeles becomes the largest City in America to conduct an audit of how ARRA funds have been expended.
DPW has received $70.65 million and created or retained 45.46 jobs, though they are expected to create 238 jobs overall (the fraction of a job created or retained correlates to the number of actual hours works). LADOT has been awarded $40.8 million and created or retained 9 jobs, though they are expected to create 26 jobs overall. Overall, the Departments have received $111 million in federal stimulus funds out of the $594 million the City has been awarded so far and created or retained 54.46 jobs.
"I'm disappointed that we've only created or retained 55 jobs after receiving $111 million in ARRA funds. With our local unemployment rate over 12% we need to do a better job cutting the red tape and putting Angelenos back to work," said City Controller Greuel. "While it doesn't appear that any of the ARRA funds were misspent, the City needs to do a better job expediting the process and creating jobs. We're going to continue to audit how these funds are spent, to ensure that they are expended quickly and correctly. I'm pleased that since our auditors completed their field work, the Departments have begun to implement the changes we identified to help get this money out the door faster."
