JERUSALEM -- Israel's defence ministry has accused a London-based Palestinian centre of "terror-affiliated activities" and being the organisational arm of the militant Islamic Hamas movement in Europe.

Hamas, which controls the Gaza Strip and advocates violent opposition to the Jewish state, is designated by the European Union as a terrorist organisation.

An Israeli defence ministry statement issued on Tuesday said that the Palestinian Return Centre in Ealing, north London, organises conferences in Europe at which it plays taped speeches by Hamas leaders who are banned from entering the EU.

"The centre is involved in initiating and organising radical and violent activity against Israel in Europe, while delegitimising Israel's status as a nation among the European community," the statement said.

"Among other terror-affiliated activities, the centre organises many conferences in various European countries for Hamas and Muslim Brotherhood activists from all around the world," it added.

On its website, the centre describes itself as "an independent consultancy focusing on the historical, political and legal aspects of the Palestinian Refugees."

Israel however, says it is is "part of the broader Hamas activism and support network within Europe, which is especially strong in England."...

Hamas Principles

The principles of the Hamas are stated in their Covenant or Charter, given in full below. Following are highlights.

"Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it." (The Martyr, Imam Hassan al-Banna, of blessed memory).

"The Islamic Resistance Movement believes that the land of Palestine is an Islamic Waqf consecrated for future Muslim generations until Judgement Day. It, or any part of it, should not be squandered: it, or any part of it, should not be given up. "

"There is no solution for the Palestinian question except through Jihad. Initiatives, proposals and international conferences are all a waste of time and vain endeavors."

"After Palestine, the Zionists aspire to expand from the Nile to the Euphrates. When they will have digested the region they overtook, they will aspire to further expansion, and so on. Their plan is embodied in the "Protocols of the Elders of Zion", and their present conduct is the best proof of what we are saying."

The charter is a rather classical Islamist document, applied to the local issues. It declares that Jihad (in the sense of armed battle) is the only solution. It cites the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, a ludicrous anti-Semitic forgery.

The "Zionists" and the freemasons and others are blamed for what Hamas and radical Islamists see as the major calamities of the world, especially the French Revolution.

One of the most ominous aspects of the Charter however, is this Hadith:

Moreover, if the links have been distant from each other and if obstacles, placed by those who are the lackeys of Zionism in the way of the fighters obstructed the continuation of the struggle, the Islamic Resistance Movement aspires to the realisation of Allah's promise, no matter how long that should take. The Prophet, Allah bless him and grant him salvation, has said:

"The Day of Judgement will not come about until Muslims fight the Jews (killing the Jews), when the Jew will hide behind stones and trees. The stones and trees will say O Muslims, O Abdulla, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him. Only the Gharkad tree, would not do that because it is one of the trees of the Jews." (related by al-Bukhari and Muslim).

The implication is clear: Allah promised that the Jews will be murdered, and the Hamas "aspires to the realisation of Allah's promise, no matter how long that should take."

That is Hamas.

The Hamas base is the Hamas mosque, in Finsbury Park, in addition to the previous main brotherhood centre round the corner -- 'muslim welfare house'.

PRC is one of a very long list of Hamas promoters, advocates and fund-raisers, all of which are directly linked to the Muslim Brotherhood -- of which Hamas is the Pali branch. This is confirmed in the Hamas charter. Read how the mosque was knowingly gifted to hamas by the British authorities.

A MUSLIM leader appointed to help to run the recently reopened Finsbury Park mosque in north London is a former military commander of Hamas, the Palestinian terrorist organisation. Mohammed Kassem Sawalha is one of five trustees appointed to give the mosque a fresh start.

The mosque was closed last year after becoming a centre of Islamic militancy under Abu Hamza al-Masri, the radical cleric facing charges in Britain and America.

Sawalha's link with Hamas emerged after he was named as a co-conspirator in an American court case involving racketeering and conspiracy. Last week the cleric, who arrived in Britain 15 years ago and has been given indefinite leave to remain, said that he still supported Hamas, notorious for its suicide attacks in Israel.

However, he said he was committed to peace in Britain and would help to run the mosque in an open and inclusive way. "I am supported by the Muslim community and have been working ever since I arrived for that community," he said.

Asked whether he supported the military activities of Hamas, he replied: "I have no comment on the question of military activity. I am working here to give a new direction to this mosque and break with the past."

According to US court documents, Sawalha was a leading militant in the early 1990s "in charge of Hamas terrorist operations within the West Bank". The documents, from the federal court in Chicago, claim he met two of the three "conspirators" accused of laundering millions of dollars to finance Hamas activities, including the purchase of weapons.

The purpose of the first meeting with the men was alleged to have been to discuss revitalising Hamas's operations. He met one of the men a second time in London in January 1993. Sawalha allegedly directed him "to provide money to various Hamas members and provided him with contact information".

Although Sawalha is named as a co-conspirator, he has not been charged. Asked last week if he faced arrest in the United States, Sawalha said: "I have not tried to travel there."

Sawalha was president of the Muslim Association of Britain which is believed to have links to the Muslim Brotherhood, one of the oldest radical Islamic groups.

Abu Hamza is in prison facing trial in Britain on 16 charges, including incitement to murder, intending to stir up racial hatred and being in possession of a document "likely to be useful" to someone plotting terrorism. He is also awaiting extradition hearings on a warrant issued by the US Department of Justice.

Following his arrest a group of his supporters tried to take over the mosque, but after extensive discussion between the surviving trustees of the charity that runs the mosque — including Mohammed Sarwar, the Labour MP, the police and the Charity Commission, which had closed it — five new trustees were appointed.

Last night Sarwar, MP for Glasgow Govan, said he would remain a trustee despite being told of Sawalha's links to Hamas. He was happy with the way the mosque was being run by the new trustees: "The Muslim community is delighted that the Abu Hamza regime is gone and the mosque is open."

Barry Norman, the Metropolitan police chief superintendent who has been working closely with the trustees, said: "I am aware of the background, but if I took the view that I'm not working with this or that person I'd end up spending my whole life in my office."

This past weekend it was reported that Democrats inserted death panel language back into their unpopular health care bill. Democrats defended this move once they were caught by insisting that Bush supported death panels, too.

The Hill reported:

The Obama administration is trying to quiet talk about so-called “death panels” after The New York Times reported Sunday that a new Medicare regulation includes incentives for end-of-life-care planning…

However, an administration spokesman said the regulation, which is less specific than the reform law’s draft language, is actually a continuation of a policy enacted under former President George W. Bush.



“The only thing new here is a regulation allowing the discussions … to happen in the context of the new annual wellness visit created by [healthcare reform],” Obama spokesman Reid Cherlin told The Wall Street Journal.

In 2003, Medicare added a consultation visit for seniors new to the program, according to the Journal. Another 2008 law, enacted under Bush, said the visit can include “end-of-life” planning discussions.

Not true.

Republican analyst Matt Schlapp corrected this latest lie by the Obama Administration.

Bush vetoed the end of life provision that went into law in 2008.

What The Hill’s Jason Millman forgot to mention in his article was that President Bush VETOED the 2008 bill and the Democrats, along with some “good-willed” Republicans OVERRODE Bush’s veto forcing him to sign the legislation into law. The bill dealt with doctors’ reimbursements and more, but the Democrats slipped in the end-of-life planning by opening up the Social Security Act, which I have stated many times is dangerous, because once changed, it is difficult to amend again and allows for tinkering with the Medicare fee schedule and covered services definitions and requirements.

The fact that the Obama Administration claimed that the Bush Administration supported the end of life provision is a complete lie.

And, they know it.

Despite the record unemployment, the Obama Adminstration is going forward with its job-killing global warming policies. The Obama Adminstration, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and radical environmentalists are about to set greenhouse gas standards for American industry. The standards have drawn objections from congressional state leaders who say the law — last revised in 1990 — was never intended for such purposes. The new regulations will place heavy administrative burdens on state environmental quality agencies, will be costly to consumers and could be devastating to the economy and jobs.

President Obama’s proposed energy tax changes would trigger grave economic consequences including a loss of 150,000 jobs.

FOX News reported:

After failing to get climate-change legislation through Congress, the Obama administration plans on pushing through its environmental policies through other means, and Republicans are ready to put up a fight.

On Jan. 2, new carbon emissions limits will be put forward as the Environmental Protection Agency prepares regulations that would force companies to get permits to release greenhouse gases under the Clean Air Act.

Critics say the new rules are a backdoor effort to enact the president’s agenda on global warming without the support of Congress, and would hurt the economy and put jobs in jeopardy by forcing companies to pay for expensive new equipment.

“They are job killers. Regulations, period — any kind of regulation is a weight on economy. It requires people to comply with the law, which takes work hours and time, which reduces the profitability of firms. Therefore, they grow more slowly and you create less jobs,” said environmental scientist Ken Green of the conservative American Enterprise Institute.

Of course, this comes after the record blizzard that still has passengers stranded in airports across the country.

The last remaining police officer in the town of Guadalupe was kidnapped by gunmen on Monday and has not been seen.

FOX News reported:

The lone police officer in the Mexican border village of Guadalupe remained missing on Tuesday, five days after reportedly being abducted by gunmen who stormed her home.



Erika Gandara, 28, was the Mexican village’s entire police force in the farming communities in the valley of Juarez, the El Paso Times reports.

A spokesman for the Chihuahua state attorney general’s office told the newspaper on Monday that authorities were aware of the incident involving Gandara, but there was still no official report of the kidnapping. Arturo Sandoval, a spokesman for prosecutors in northern Chihuahua state, said a search has begun for Gandara, who hasn’t been since seen Dec. 23.

Sandoval said Tuesday that the search started as a missing-person case.

The rural valley, which is across the border from El Paso, Texas, is a busy smuggling corridor and has been plagued with narcotics-related violence. Three severed heads were left in an ice chest in the plaza in Guadalupe, the newspaper reports, with one of the heads belonging to a police commander. Several town council members have also been murdered.

With all the talk about forcing people to buy health insurance, health insurance exchanges, and high-risk pools, it is often forgotten that most of what Obamacare really is, is just a massive expansion of an existing and already failing entitlement program. Of the 34 million Americans who gain health insurance through Obamacare, over half (18 million) will receive it through Medicaid.

In its current form, Medicaid is already bankrupting states across the country. Obamacare only further overloads this already broken system by expanding Medicaid eligibility to include all Americans under 133 percent of the federal poverty level. While Obamacare will pay for all of the benefit expansion for the first three years, and 90% of it after that, Obamacare never pays for any of the state administrative costs for adding those 18 million Americans to their welfare rolls. That amounts to billions in unfunded federal mandates for states to absorb.

Worse, current Medicaid enrollees already have trouble finding doctors who will see them because, nationwide, Medicaid pays only 56% as much as private coverage does. And what state Medicaid programs do pay doctors for shrinks every day. Bloomberg reports:

Washington State may not pay for glasses anymore. Massachusetts already chopped dentures. As of Oct. 1, North Carolina no longer covers surgery for the clinically obese.

Governors nationwide are taking a scalpel to Medicaid, the jointly run state and federal health-care program for 48 million poor Americans, half of whom are children. The single biggest expense for states, Medicaid consumes about 22 percent of their total $1.6 trillion in expenditures, more than what is allocated to elementary and secondary education, according to a National Governors Association report.

In California, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger proposed $980 million in savings on Medi-Cal, which covers 7.5 million people, after previously slicing $110 million for acupuncture, chiropractic and dental services in 2009. His Dec. 6 proposal included $100-a-day copayments for hospital stays and a limit of 10 doctor visits a year.

Arizona will reduce payments to doctors, hospitals and ambulance services by 5 percent beginning April 1, according to Monica Coury, a spokeswoman for the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System, the Medicaid agency. … The state stopped paying for heart, liver and other transplants on Oct. 1, prompting criticism of Governor Jan Brewer, a Republican.

“We are the only state that has cut transplant care,” state Representative Anna Tovar, a Democrat from Tolleson who received a stem-cell transplant, said in a telephone interview. “Who are they to put a figure on a person’s life?”

Tovar asks a great question: “Who are they to put a figure on a person’s life?” But when the government takes over health care, which is what Obamacare’s Medicaid expansion is, putting a price on a person’s life is exactly what happens.

Social unrest will become visible in America in 2011. There will be demonstrations in many major cities. Some will turn violent. Economics will be at the heart of the anger.

Oh boy is 2011 going to be an exciting year! Some things that I think might happen:

-Volatility is going up across the board. If you have the stomach for the swings that are coming across all markets there is a ton of money to be made; balls and timing are all that are necessary.

-Spain will be the next sovereign debtor that falls prey to the market. This will happen before the end of the 1st Q.

-The US will have a full year deficit of 1.4 trillion dollars. This depressing reality will hang on the US economy/markets. Congress will talk about the problem endlessly, but little will be accomplished.

-Obama’s popularity will continue to fall. The legislative “successes” at the end of 2010 will convert to a series of failures. There will be no new stimulus. Portions of the health care legislation will be dialed back. The mandatory participation feature will be found unconstitutional. Without this feature the legislation makes no economic sense and a great debate will be initiated as to what to do about it. Nothing will be accomplished. Reason? There are no “answers” to this problem.

-The center of attention will move away from California as the most bankrupt state. In his State of the State address in January, New York’s new Governor Andrew Cuomo will fess up to the fact that for the past year of so NY has been burying its problems.

-Unemployment will not go down. The average for the year will be above 10%. The number of workers who leave the system will rise to 20mm. These workers will find part-time jobs that pay cash. The new day-workers will compete will illegals for employment. Social tensions will be the result.

I’m going to take the death panel end-of-life planning conundrum down one point at a time to make this very clear for Americans to understand what the Pelosi-led Democrats have done to your healthcare and attempt to take cover under a Bush-era law–the Medicare Improvement for Patients and Providers Act of 2008. The Hill reported that the Obama White House attempted to calm Americans’ fears of the dreaded death panels:

The Medicare policy will pay doctors for holding end-of-life-care discussions with patients, according to the Times. A similar provision was dropped from the new healthcare reform law after Republicans accused the administration of withholding care from the sick, elderly and disabled. However, an administration spokesman said the regulation, which is less specific than the reform law’s draft language, is actually a continuation of a policy enacted under former President George W. Bush.

“The only thing new here is a regulation allowing the discussions … to happen in the context of the new annual wellness visit created by [healthcare reform],” Obama spokesman Reid Cherlin told The Wall Street Journal.

In 2003, Medicare added a consultation visit for seniors new to the program, according to the Journal. Another 2008 law, enacted under Bush, said the visit can include “end-of-life” planning discussions.

However, what The Hill’s Jason Millman forgot to mention in his article was that President Bush VETOED the 2008 bill and the Democrats, along with some “good-willed” Republicans OVERRODE Bush’s veto forcing him to sign the legislation into law. The bill dealt with doctors’ reimbursements and more, but the Democrats slipped in the end-of-life planning by opening up the Social Security Act, which I have stated many times is dangerous, because once changed, it is difficult to amend again and allows for tinkering with the Medicare fee schedule and covered services definitions and requirements.

For the record, here is the text that the Democrats changed:

(b) Revisions to Initial Preventive Physical Examination-

(1) IN GENERAL- Section 1861(ww) of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. 1395x(ww)) is amended–

(A) in paragraph (1)–

(i) by inserting ‘body mass index,’ after ‘weight’;

(ii) by striking ‘, and an electrocardiogram’; and

(iii) by inserting ‘and end-of-life planning (as defined in paragraph (3)) upon the agreement with the individual’ after ‘paragraph (2)’;

Comedy gold indeed, when Democrats blame Bush for, um, everything wrong in America, and then use him for cover on healthcare.

Another Pilot Blasts TSA as Agency Goes After Whistle-blowing Pilot: "

If the Transportation and Security Administration plans on going after every airline pilot who believes the agency is mismanaged, it won’t have time to do its job. Which may just be a good thing.

Another pilot, this one an occasional journalist, has spoken out against the TSA and on behalf of Chris Liu, aka the YouTube pilot. Liu, who outed himself yesterday, was stripped of the federal license allowing him to carry a handgun while aboard an aircraft following his posting of six videos highlighting flaws in the TSA’s methodology.

Patrick Smith, a contributor to Salon.com, has written an article blasting the TSA and defending Liu. Speaking of the irrational TSA mandate that pilots and flight attendants pass through the same checkpoints as passengers while ground workers are exempt from these checks, Smith writes:

This has been TSA policy from the beginning. It is also something I’ve been writing about in my columns, on and off, for the past eight years. Finally the issue is getting some attention….

Noting that Chris Liu’s actions are now “under review” by the TSA who claims the pilot may have released “sensitive security information,” Smith writes:

That’s a head-spinner if you ask me. The screening rules are public knowledge. It’s not the pilot’s fault that the rest of the country has been ignoring them.

Smith goes on the condemn the TSA for choosing “not to review, revise or even acknowledge its foolish rules, but to harass and bully and threaten the person who drew attention to them.”

He warns that “[t]his is what happens when, in the throes of fear, you bestow a bureaucracy with lots of power and little accountability.”

He notes, moreover, that the industry’s largest trade organization, the Air Transport Association, has called for a shift away from the current, one-size-fits-all screening paradigm to a multi-tiered, profiling-based approach. This proposal, if adopted, Smith adds:

would soften or make redundant many of TSA’s protocols. No doubt TSA sees this as a threat, and will fight it tooth and nail.

Which raises a trenchant question: Whose side is the TSA on? Volumes on the inadequacy of the current bureaucracy have been written in this space alone. And yet, despite the criticisms that the full-body scanners are not foolproof or that the TSA is violating the fourth amendment rights of Americans, the agency has dug in of late.

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano’s most recent advice to Americans has been to love it or leave it. The Advanced Imaging Technology scanners, she insists, “are safe, efficient, and protect passenger privacy,” this despite ample evidence to the contrary. Pat downs, she further claims, are essential to making “air travel as secure as possible,” adding that “all passengers have the right to request private screening.” Someone should tell that the rape victim from Austin who was dragged 25 yards across the floor of the terminal for requesting that she be wanded instead of being prodded in places on her body that summoned up personal demons.

As Patrick Smith concludes:

It [the TSA] will not relinquish power until forced to do so by our leaders, under a critical mass of outrage. As a nation we are still a long, long way from that. And the next terrorist attack, or even a close call, is liable to wipe out our resolve and re-set the clock.

Chris Liu, the pilot who angered Big Sis last week by revealing potential loopholes in airport security, went public on Monday. The 50 year-old pilot told CNN that TSA sent an anti-terrorism task force to his home after he posted his video on YouTube.

McClatchy reported:

The pilot who posted a cell phone video on YouTube revealing potential loopholes in airport security identified himself Monday and said he is “pretty shocked” by the national uproar he has caused.

Chris Liu, a 50-year-old Colfax resident and 27-year veteran pilot, said in an interview with a Sacramento television station that he never imagined his “little video” of what he felt were lax procedures at San Francisco International Airport would get much attention.

The video, posted Nov. 30, has since been pulled from YouTube, and Liu has been stripped of his role in a federal anti-terrorism program that allowed him to carry a handgun while flying. His story has been covered by media across the country – including local outlets, CNN and Fox News.

“I never even thought about being an activist,” Liu told News 10 Monday night, “but it’s kind of turning into that direction.”

A website Liu set up to chronicle his story indicates a man on a mission.

“The Patriot Pilot: An American Hero,” describes what Liu views as a contrast between security measures faced by travelers and airline employees and those faced by ground crews. He also expresses his frustration with the Transportation Security Administration’s response to his security complaint.

How many times has Obama said Gitmo was a major Al-Qaeda recruitment tool… The “biggest propaganda weapon for many of these extremists”?

It isn’t.



“We can regain the moral high ground in the battle against these terrorist organizations. There is no bigger propaganda weapon for many of these extremists than pointing to Guantanamo and saying that we don’t live up to our own ideals.”

Wrong answer.

The Weekly Standard reported, via Ace:

THE WEEKLY STANDARD has reviewed translations of 34 messages and interviews delivered by top al Qaeda leaders operating in Pakistan and Afghanistan (“Al Qaeda Central”), including Osama bin Laden and Ayman al Zawahiri, since January 2009. The translations were published online by the NEFA Foundation. Guantanamo is mentioned in only 3 of the 34 messages. The other 31 messages contain no reference to Guantanamo. And even in the three messages in which al Qaeda mentions the detention facility it is not a prominent theme.

When was the last time we’ve had a president who was so fundamentally wrong on so many issues?

Unbelievable.
