Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin kicked off a Tea Party Express bus tour on Monday demanding that Republicans to "man up" and support the movement. She went further after her speech and told reporters that the GOP is through if it doesn't embrace Tea Party message.

Another Obamacare Casulty: Boeing Employees To Pay Significantly More
Look for a major congressional inquiry into Boeing. The Aerospace company is joining others such as McDonalds, 3M , AT&T, Verizon, Caterpillar and John Deere in accidentally exposing lies we were told about Obamacare. In this case its the lie about Obamacare reducing what you will have to pay for healthcare.
Last week Boeing sent a letter to its 90,000 non union employees informing them that, thanks to Obamacare, their heath insurance is going to cost significantly more beginning next year.

"The newly enacted health care reform legislation, while intended to expand access to care for millions of uninsured Americans, is also adding cost pressure as requirements of the new law are phased in over the next several years," wrote Rick Stephens, Boeing's senior vice president for human resources.The villain is the new tax on "Cadillac health plans," meant to discourage companies from giving its employees plants with better than average coverage, and picking up much of the cost.
Spokeswoman Karen Forte said the Boeing plan is more generous than what its closest competitors offer, and the company was concerned it would get hit with a new tax under the law.But obviously the changes would not have been as severe as they will be as the company tries to avoid the Obamacare taxes. According to St. Louis Business Journal:
The tax on so-called "Cadillac" health plans doesn't take effect until 2018, but employers are already beginning to assess their exposure because it is hefty: at 40 percent of the value above $10,200 for individual coverage and $27,500 for a family plan.
"We want to manage our costs so this tax doesn't apply to our plan, but that's down the road," said Forte. "If this health care law hadn't passed, would we be making changes to the health care benefit? Absolutely. For competitive reasons."
Workers companywide learned last week that Boeing is raising employee-only deductibles from $200 to $300 next year and family deductibles from $600 to $900, company spokeswoman Karen Forte said. The plane and fighter jet maker, which has about 15,000 employees in the St. Louis area, last raised deductibles in 1999, she said.According to Forte Those changes will reduce the value of the Boeing plan, but it's unclear whether that will allow the company to escape the tax looming in 2018.
Boeing also plans to require employees to pay co-insurance. Right now, the company covers 100 percent for most services. In 2011, Boeing will pay 90 percent and ask employees to chip in 10 percent. In 2012, the split will be 80-20. Boeing pays about $2 billion a year on health care and expects that to rise 7 or 8 percent in annual inflation, Forte said. If Boeing hadn't asked its employees to shoulder more of the costs, the company would have to pay $3 billion on health care in five years, she said.
"It's certainly going to help," said Forte. But "we are still slightly above market in what we offer to our employees."Nancy Pelosi was correct when she said we won't really know about Obamacare until it gets signed by the President. Since it's been signed we are learning that much of what we have been told about the bill is false. The Boeing example is just one more indication that the "pig in a poke" known as Obamacare is harmful to the health and well being of Americans.

WASHINGTON – The big aircraft maker Boeing Co. says "cost pressures" from the new health care law are part of the reason it's asking employees to pay more for their medical benefits next year.
In a letter mailed to employees late last week, Boeing said deductibles and copayments are going up significantly for some 90,000 nonunion workers.
The company cited three major reasons for the cost shift, including untamed health care inflation, the effects of the new law, and lifestyle issues including being overweight and lack of exercise.
Spokeswoman Karen Forte said Boeing is concerned that its relatively generous plan will get hit with a new tax under the law in 2018, but that the company would have made the changes anyway.
Boeing isn't the first organization to find the legislation compounding problems. I suspect it won't be the last.

New Column: Obama Can't Be Wrong, so We Must Be Crazy
Memo to those who believe Obama is going to move to the center following his upcoming electoral smack-down: Dream on! Many of you also told us he wouldn't be that liberal in the first instance. Is that egg on your face sticky yet?
I'm not denying that Obama might pretend to move to the center on some issues. As an accomplished Alinskyite, he'll do what he has to do to move the socialist football forward. But if he feints to the center, it will not be real. He will not deviate from his relentless quest to advance his leftist agenda. And you wouldn't, either, if you had his warped mindset, God forbid!
This guy isn't just arrogant; he's an elitist, contemptuous of the unwashed who don't have the mental clarity to see issues the way he does. It would never occur to him to actually readjust his policies.
The more we've seen him off prompter the more we've learned about his heartfelt beliefs. His notorious "bitter clingers" moment wasn't a verbal slip; it was Obama being candid. He didn't just say (in effect) that "some people out there in fly-over country don't share our values but mean well." He implied there's something wrong with them (us) psychologically, spiritually and even morally for clinging to their Bibles, their guns and their antipathy toward people who aren't like them. That is, they're simple-minded, aggressive bigots.
When Obama runs into opposition on his agenda, it never occurs to him that he could be wrong. That's why every time his policies are rebuffed, he reacts the same way: "They don't understand my plan. It's too complicated. I haven't given enough speeches on the subject or spoken to people about their core values. I want the people to take another look at my plan."
This signature Obama arrogance reared its head again this past weekend, when Obama said that Americans' "fear and frustration" are what is driving their opposition to his agenda. The difficult economic times, which, of course, he blamelessly inherited, are interfering with the people's ability to "think clearly."
But fear not. He selflessly agreed to undertake the burden of breaking "through the fear and the frustration people are feeling." Hmm. What do you suppose he might say differently in his hundredth approach to this that he didn't cover the first 99 times?
According to Obama, people can deal with Bush-induced "trauma" concerning the economy one of two ways. They can either push "away challenges" and look "backwards" or "meet these challenges" and "move forward."
Don't just casually pass over these words. Savor them for at least a second, and show me where he exhibits an iota of doubt in his failed policies. To the contrary, he is saying this is more a perception problem for the American people than it is their rational reaction to real problems he has created or exacerbated.
This same dripping condescension is present in his many iterations of the foreign money slander -- his deliberately manufactured tale that the Chamber of Commerce is fomenting angst and buying the upcoming elections with foreign money. (It's interesting that Democrats are reportedly receiving twice as much foreign campaign dough as Republicans.)
At his recent "youth town hall" meeting, Obama suggested that "what has happened is layered on top of some of that general frustration that has expressed itself through the tea party. There is an awful lot of corporate money that's pouring into these elections right now." In the battleground states, he said, "you are being bombarded with negative ads every single day, and nobody knows who is paying for these ads. They've got names like 'Americans for Prosperity.'"
Do you fellow clingers see the recurring theme? It's not just the foreign money; it's that the American people are just too weak-minded to resist its influence.
Well, I've got news for Obama and anyone else who is buying into his smear. I just spoke at two Americans for Prosperity tea party events a few weekends ago, and the attendees are hardly dupes being spoon-fed by some foreign-sponsored group -- too laughable for words. They are self-motivated patriots, outraged by government's power abuses, assaults on their liberties and policies bankrupting the nation.
Regarding the tea party protesters, Obama is merely projecting his own antipathy for people who aren't socialists like him. They are not mindless robots divorced from control of their mental faculties. They know full well what he's doing and how disastrous it is for the country, and they're fighting back.
Given the "trauma" Obama will be experiencing the day following the elections, we probably can't expect him to clearly comprehend the voters' resounding message. But everyone else will get it. They already do.

BlackFive is reporting today that the Commander in Chief of the VFW Richard Eubank has dissolved the VFW-Pac after it endorsed Barbara Boxer and a group of far left America-hating liberals.
Here's the letter:
I have reviewed the Political Action Committee (PAC) Board of Directors' response to our request to rescind this year's Congressional endorsements. I disagree with their assessment.
It is now evident to most of the VFW leadership, both National and especially the departments, that the VFW has been subjected to extreme negative publicity throughout the nation, and the recent endorsement decisions have, in fact, harmed the VFW's reputation and future ability to fulfill our mission.
I cannot let this erosion of public support for our great organization continue. The apparent lack of the committee to address these concerns will lead to a proposal by me, as Commander-in-Chief, to amend the by-laws at the 112th National Convention for the purpose of dissolving the PAC. Meanwhile, under the authority granted to me as Commander-in-Chief in section 619 of the VFW National By-Laws and under section 620 of the Manual of Procedure, I am withdrawing all PAC appointments effective October 15, 2010.
Accordingly, I'm asking the council for a vote of "no confidence" in the VFW PAC as
indicated on the enclosed ballot.
It was the right thing to do.

What did you all think? You pull $500 billion from the program and things will go south. And it's not just any Medicare official. It's the actuary:

The new analysis obtained by POLITICO finds the health care overhaul will result in increased out-of-pocket costs for seniors on Medicare Advantage plans.
Richard Foster, the actuary for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, also tells Senate Republicans that the overhaul will result in "less generous benefit packages" for Medicare Advantage plans next year. ...11 million senors take advantage of the program. Maybe AARP can explain to seniors why they helped push the unconstitutional boondoggle through. This adds to the bad news for seniors: ObamaCare: Doctors refusing new Medicare patients because of low government reimbursement setting a new high. The AARP supported ObamaCare so they could stuff their coffers with money from seniors purchasing supplemental insurance that AARP sells. The AARP is no longer the organization it was once was. It is now just another appendage of the liberal movement. Like the NOW and its attacking Sarah Paling, and the NAACP attacking Clarence Thomas, AARP no longer complies with its stated purpose. Should this health care boondoggle pass, no group will be more negatively affected than seniors. Yet here is the AARP snubbing their own membership to help push this through anyway. As reported by the Washington Times
Drug-smuggling gangs in Mexico have sent well-armed assassins, or "sicarios," into Arizona to locate and kill bandits who are ambushing and stealing loads of cocaine, marijuana and heroin headed to buyers in the U.S., the Department of Homeland Security has warned Arizona law enforcement authorities.
In a memo first sent in May but widely circulated since, the department said a group of "15, very well-equipped and armed" assassins complete with body armor had been sent into the state to identify, locate and kill the drug thieves, who are thought to be independent operators.
The memo said the assassins had been dispatched to the Vekol Valley, a well-established and widely travelled drug-smuggling corridor running north and south across Interstate 8 between the Arizona towns of Casa Grande and Gila Bend. The valley is a direct link to both the interstate and to Phoenix, giving drug smugglers the option of shipping their goods to California or to major cities both north and east.
Disguised as groups of backpackers but carrying empty boxes covered with burlap, the memo said the paid assassins would attempt to "draw out the bandits." Once identified, it said, the assassins "will take out the bandits."
"We just received information from a proven, credible confidential source who reported that a meeting was held in Puerto Penasco, in which every smuggling organization who utilizes the Vekol Valley was told to attend," the memo said. "This included rival groups within the Guzman cartel."
Joaquin Archivaldo Guzman Loera heads what formally is known as the Sinaloa Cartel, which smuggles multi-ton loads of cocaine from Colombia through Mexico into the United States. One of the most powerful and dangerous drug gangs in Mexico, it also is known as the Guzman cartel and has been linked to the production, smuggling and distribution of Mexican marijuana and "black tar" heroin.
The federal government recently posted signs along Interstate 8 in the Vekol Valley warning travelers the area is unsafe because of drug and alien smugglers. The signs were posted by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) along a 60-mile stretch of Interstate 8 between Casa Grande and Gila Bend, warning travelers they are entering an "active drug- and human-smuggling area" and may encounter "armed criminals and smuggling vehicles traveling at high rates of speed."
Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu, whose county includes the valley, told The Washington Times earlier this month that Mexican drug cartels have posted scouts on the high points around the valley to control movement in the area. He said they have radios, optics and "night-vision goggles as good as anything law enforcement has."
"This is going on here in Arizona … 30 miles from the fifth-largest city in the United States," he said.

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development last week announced nearly $100 million in new grants "to support more livable and sustainable communities across the country."
"Planning our communities smarter means parents will spend less time driving and more time with their children; more families will live in safe, stable communities near good schools and jobs; and more businesses will have access to the capital and talent they need to grow and prosper."
The Sustainable Communities Planning Grant Program — funded for the first time this year — is part of the Obama administration's Partnership for Sustainable Communities, an interagency collaboration that brings HUD, the Transportation Department, and the Environmental Protection Agency together to help communities across the country "create more housing choices, make transportation more efficient and reliable, reinforce existing investments, and support the kinds of neighborhoods that attract businesses."
The 45 organizations that received grants (see list) were competitively selected from more than 1,000 applicants from across the country. The grants were judged by a team drawn from eight federal agencies and from partners in philanthropy.

Corrupted Climate Science Exploited Basic Human Realities

Two major factors explain how the Anthropogenic Global Warming (AGW) people got away with massive deception. First is exploitation of fear – the Chicken Little factor – and in this case the claim the sky literally is falling. Second is their exploitation of people's lack of knowledge or understanding of science.
You can essentially divide the world into two groups. This is said with trepidation because H. L. Mencken argued you could divide the world into two groups, those who will divide it and those who won't. Lack of knowledge or understanding is more easily exploited because of the distribution of people that understand science and those who have no idea and are often proud of the fact. After 25 years of teaching a science credit course for arts students my experience was that 80 percent of university students avoided science courses and 20 percent took them. Less than one percent was comfortable and did well in both. Interestingly, this percentage increased as more women moved in to sciences.

Few exploited these population realities better than Al Gore. Few used it with more cynicism and arrogance than the people at the Climatic Research Unit (CRU) who controlled climate science through the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). They treated the public with disdain and through RealClimate, William Connolley, Gavin Schmidt, Michael Mann and others sneered at scientists who challenged the science.
Gore's movie "An Inconvenient Truth" was a brilliant piece of propaganda. It didn't deserve a Nobel Peace Prize because of the scientific errors that fooled many of those specialist scientists. It deserved the Oscar as a make-believe story in the best entertainment tradition. The challenge was to take complex scientific ideas and present them in an entertaining, highly emotional way. Home Box Office (HBO) producer Davis Guggenheim succeeded by falsifying, distorting, and misrepresenting facts and the science.
The challenge facing anyone trying to counter the exploiters is to bring logic, clarity and understanding in a way a majority of people can understand. You can write a book or make a movie that satisfies scientists, but the general public will not understand. Or you can write for a wider audience and scientists will say it oversimplifies. Many have faced the challenge with documentaries and books about climate. Martin Durkin faced the challenge commendably with his documentary "The Great Global Warming Swindle." A good book that straddled the dichotomy is Essex and McKitrick's "Taken By Storm" (Revised edition). I recommend it, but many say they get lost.
It's a problem most science books face even if they're tailored for the general market. How many people read and understand Stephen Hawking's "A Brief History of Time". Yet it was a massive best seller. Many buy books simply because it's a book club offering, but that doesn't explain continuance at the top of the list. High sales and lack of understanding also applies to novels. For example, Umberto Eco's book "The Name of The Rose" was top of the New York Times bestseller list for a long time. The newspaper briefly added a column that identified the percentage of people finishing a book. Eco's book had a very low percentage. As one reviewer wrote, "The novel, with its labyrinthine plot, deep philosophical discussions, and medieval setting, seemed an unlikely candidate for worldwide success."
It's a problem "Scientific American" faced as a journal on science for general consumption. Scientists reading articles outside their discipline found them interesting, albeit slightly arcane. However, with one in their discipline they realized it was over-simplified and inadequate. As a business and losing market share they decided to boost sales by becoming sensational, which included touting the false science of climate change.
A major challenge for education is to prepare people for the evolving scientific and technologically dominated world. I subtitled the course the science credit course for Arts students. "The Way the Earth Works." Citizens of the global village need a general idea of the dynamics so they can't be exploited, as they have been by environmentalists and scientists with political agendas.
Many universities have different combinations of 'required' courses. These variably include a science credit for arts students, and humanities or social science courses for all students. At the University of Winnipeg, because many Arts students complained about the difficulty of science courses, they created a course titled, "History of Science", but it wasn't science. It was an excellent course and as a graduate student I marked papers for the professor and later as a professor gave guest lectures. However, it bypassed the original intent of a true liberal arts degree. It should have been a required course for all science students. All students need to understand science, but all science students must know the history of science, the social impacts and therefore responsibility its practice requires.
In his 1961 retirement speech, President Eisenhower anticipated the corruption of climate science of the last thirty years. Yet, in holding scientific research and discovery in respect, as we should, we must also be alert to the equal and opposite danger that public policy could itself become the captive of a scientific-technological elite. We can only achieve by overcoming the general public fear of science through education. Then they can spot exploitation like that practiced by the CRU, IPCC, and extreme environmentalists or at least understand what the few skeptics who refused to be silenced were saying.
