The ruling class mentality on full display in our nation's capitol isn't limited to that locality. No. It pervades every level of government right down to the very local homeowners associations. A level up from that is the city, and the mentality is pervasive there also. Take the city of Vancouver. The City Council passed a proposal for light rail that will necessitate tolls. Taxpayers showed up to voice their continued opposition. The reaction of the City Council was then to quash any such speech, and they made up rules on the fly to do so. From No Tolls:
Yikes. Jeanne Harris in particular is simply unhinged. The above video was shot a couple of weeks ago. Where is Harris now? Check this out:

After the city voted to close fire station #6 and layoff fire fighters due to lack of funds, council member Jeanne Harris is now on an all expenses paid $19,000 4 week tour of Europe as an ambassador of our city. This is city business, while the biggest project in our history is not? Should this city council be traveling the world as a role model? That's ruling class mentality all the way. Quash free speech, beat down taxpayers, lay a few of them off, and then go on vacation on their dime. This is the description of the problem in Vancouver:
Get some tea party mentality, Vancouver! Kick out ruling class liars like the numero uno on the Council:
The crisis is traffic congestion in Portland Oregon from the I-5 Columbia River Bridge to at least 5 miles south. The bait is a new bridge. But rather than widening the freeways in Portland to relieve that congestion, those Portland bottlenecks will remain. The switch is a massive bloated multi-billion dollar unrelated project that extends miles north in Washington that does nothing to solve Portland traffic congestion. The project turns existing Washington freeways into toll roads even if drivers don't cross the bridge into Oregon. Although voters defeated light rail by a large margin and voters are prevented from having an election to defeat it again, these politicians are determined to force light rail into the heart of Vancouver. Washington citizens are outraged as they awaken to the Bait-and-Switch scheme of incumbents that rule as dictators over their subjects.
