FOX News reported today that Osama Bin Laden was behind the latest plot to attack Westerners in Europe.
Senior Al Qaeda leaders, including Usama Bin Laden, are believed to be behind the latest Mumbai-style plot to attack Westerners in European cities, a senior U.S. intelligence official told Fox News.
The multi-pronged scope of the emerging plan — which was to launch coordinated shooting sprees or attacks in Britain, France and Germany — is an Al Qaeda hallmark. One U.S. intelligence official added, however, that the details of how the plan was directed or coordinated by the group's core leaders is not yet clear. Bin Laden and his top lieutenants are believed to be in hiding in Pakistan.
