Congratulations to the Cincinnati Reds for making the playoffs for the first time in 15 years. But next time you celebrate, try not to behave as if this were still a free country:
The Cincinnati Reds decided to celebrate their first playoff berth since 1995 by lighting up victory cigars in their clubhouse after defeating the Houston Astros 3-2 on Sunday night. Now they're being investigated by the Health Department for violating Ohio's statewide smoking ban.
If that weren't bad enough, the Reds' own fans are the ones who reported them.
Even with the size of the government exploding almost as fast as the private sector that supports it is forced to contract, the authorities can't be everywhere. But there's never a shortage of freelance do-gooder rats.
On a tip from Lyle.
