Playing the race-card is un-Presidential, yet Obama continues with it

Obama's Race Taunts Unsuited to the Presidency, Says Project 21 Chairman

Washington, D.C. – Mychal Massie, chairman of the Project 21 black leadership network, says President Obama's recent playing of the race card is inappropriate for a President and for someone who has publicly professed a desire for a post-racial America.

"Obama's comments further calcify his commonality, lack of couth, lack of propriety and unworthiness to be president," said Project 21′s Massie. "Never in the history of this nation has there been a president who so perfectly lacked even the most basic qualifications and social skills pursuant to the office he holds."

During a speech in Philadelphia on October 10, Obama played the race card by suggesting that conservatives want to disfranchise black voters and others by suppressing their interest in voting. Obama said: "They're counting on young people staying home and union members staying home and black folks staying home."

Obama also recently accused the U.S. Chamber of Commerce of using money from foreign donors to finance domestic campaign ads. White House staff will not provide proof to validate this claim, which originated in a blog post from the campaign wing of the far-left Center for American Progress. Experts in campaign finance are critical of the President's blog-based assertion.

Massie added: "During his own presidential campaign, Obama frequently spoke of how George W. Bush had brought shame on the nation. Is it now Obama's opinion that his cheap and inflammatory rhetoric, obviously intended to incite racial discord, brings honor to our nation?"

Project 21, a leading voice of black conservatives since 1992, is sponsored by the National Center for Public Policy Research (http://www.nationalcenter.org).
