Top DOJ Voting Rights Official Testifies Before Congress, Calls Dismissal of Black Panther Case a 'T

As practically everyone knows by now, AG Eric Holder at the behest of Obama dropped all charges against members of the new black panther party that were intimidating white voters on camera at polling stations in Philadelphia. As Deputy Assistant Attorney General Julie Fernandes was quotes as saying: 'Never Bring Another Lawsuit Against a Black'
Justice Department prosecutor Christopher Coates testified before Congress yesterday after a year of stonewalling by the DOJ and against the wishes of the liberal political ruling class running the DOJ. His testimony was explosive to say the least. From The Politico:
A Justice Department prosecutor defied his superiors by testifying at a U.S. Civil Rights Commission hearing Friday, where he leveled an explosive allegation: top officials in the department gutted a voter intimidation case against a fringe African American militant group because the suspects were black and their alleged victims were white.

The prosecutor, Christopher Coates, also said the downgrading of the case against the New Black Panther Party was evidence of a Justice Department culture which discouraged "race neutral" enforcement of civil rights laws, frowned on prosecuting minority perpetrators and folded under pressure from black and Latino rights groups. After President Barack Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder took office, the culture intensified, Coates told the panel, ultimately leading to his departure as chief of the voting rights section early this year.

"They have not pursued the goal of equal protection of the law for all people," he said.
Democrats were aghast at Coates coming to testify so they came up with the idea of creating a farce in inviting comedian Stephen Colbert to testify in character. (Video: Congress descends into a farce as comedian Stephen Colbert testifies in character) More from Fox News:
The Justice Department is ignoring civil rights cases that involve white victims and wrongly abandoned a voter intimidation case against the New Black Panther Party last year, a top department official testified Friday. He called the department's conduct a "travesty of justice."
Not to liberals it isn't. Of course, the Colbert farce was picked up by the state-run MSM more than the Coates hearing. From Instapundit:
DISTRACTION: So, yesterday reader John Mark Williams suggested that the Colbert testimony was intended to distract from coverage of Christopher Coates' testimony about the Justice Department's racism scandals. If so, it's worked. Front page of Daily Caller: Colbert. Drudge led with Colbert until the news of the Klein & Zucker firings came out. Limbaugh led off today talking about Colbert. NRO has covered Colbert at The Corner, but not Coates. Washington Examiner headline: Colbert. Looking around other sites, I see more about Colbert than Coates. Hot Air and Power Line did better.
But let me quote the Power Line treatment: "Coates's testimony is a bombshell. It exposes a couple of Obama administration scandals at once. One involves the Obama administration's attempt to cover up the rationale for burying the case against the NBPP. The other involves the Obama administration's support for the racially based administration of justice. Coates's testimony is suggestive of other scandals as well. You probably won't be hearing much about it on the broadcast news tonight or in the papers tomorrow, but we all should do everything we can to get the word out."
It's a narrative thing. But the blogosphere is abuzz about the Coates testimony:
