The CIA has launched a taskforce to assess the impact of 250,000 leaked US diplomatic cables. Its name? WikiLeaks Task Force, or WTF for short.

One of the most embarrassing revelations was that the US state department had drawn up a list of information it would like on key UN figures – it later emerged the CIA had asked for the information.

Peace in our time, or should we say appeasement in our time, as a sufficient number of GOP senators signed on the New START treaty to give the Democrats and President Obama the 67 votes needed for ratification.

This effectively gives Russia a veto over the defense of the American people against nuclear attack.

This past weekend, 59 senators voted to reject the McCain-Barrasso amendment, which would have stripped from the treaty preamble language linking offensive and defensive systems. That language gives the Russians cover to withdraw from the treaty if we enhance our missile defenses in the slightest.

It legitimizes the bogus Russian argument that defending ourselves is destabilizing and the threat comes from the weapons themselves, not those nations willing to use them.

The problem is not nukes but who has them. We don’t fear Britain and France. We should fear, and defend ourselves against, those who dream of a world without the United States.

A radical Muslim group launched a “Christmas is evil” poster campaign hoping that their efforts would help destroy Christmas.

The Daily Mail reported:

Fanatics from a banned Islamic hate group have launched a nationwide poster campaign denouncing Christmas as evil.

Organisers plan to put up thousands of placards around the UK claiming the season of goodwill is responsible for rape, teenage pregnancies, abortion, promiscuity, crime and paedophilia.

They hope the campaign will help ‘destroy Christmas’ in this country and lead to Britons converting to Islam instead.

Barack Obama held a press conference this afternoon after Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell was repealed and the liberal Senate passed START Treaty and the 9-11 Emergency Responder’s Bill.

The first reporter Caren Bohan from Reuters praised Barack Obama as “The Comeback Kid.”



It was a celebration.

Of course, the media congratulated Obama for extending the Bush tax cuts.



Even though not that long ago Obama blamed the Great Recession on those same Bush tax cuts.

But, don’t expect the media to report this. It’s not on the agenda.

Once again, Barack Obama promised that his singular focus over the next two years will be the economy.

Yeah, right. We’ve heard that one before.

More… Obama just said that the DREAM Act will secure the border. And, if Americans knew these kids, “and they probably do,” they would pass this amnesty bill.

If I knew these kids I’d call ICE.

The Obama Administration knew that ousted Honduran President Manuel Zelaya was an anti-democratic anti-Semitic pig whose goal was to become ruler for life like his buddy Hugo Chavez.  Team Obama decided to support him for the greater good of Latin American relations anyway. Barack Obama even cut off aid to Honduras in order to appease Marxist tyrant Hugo Chavez at the expense of the Honduran people.

The news that President Obama cut off aid to American ally Honduras did not make many headlines. Barack Obama openly sided with Marxists Raul Castro, Hugo Chavez and Daniel Ortega in punishing the government of Honduras.

Now, "thanks" to a leaked Wikileaks cable, we know that the Obama Administration knew that Zelaya was a dangerous leftist thug who could not be trusted. But, the Obama Administration sided with the wannabe tyrant anyway at the expense of the Honduran people.

Now the release of two WikiLeaked cables from the U.S. embassy in Tegucigalpa strengthens one of those theories: that the U.S. knew Mr. Zelaya was a threat to democratic Honduras but had decided the country should tolerate his constitutional violations in the interest of realpolitik.

Practically speaking, Hugo Chávez was the man to please. After a decade in power, the president of Venezuela's influence around the region was notable. George W. Bush had clashed with him. Barack Obama was out to prove that they could get along, as evidenced by the warm handshake at the Summit of the Americas in Port of Spain in April 2009.

be a murderer, rapist and thief) suggests that Chimirri holds much over Zelaya himself. Zelaya almost assuredly takes strong medication for a severe back problem and perhaps other drugs as well. His vehement attacks on the press have reportedly endangered journalists opposed to Zelaya's policies. His style and tone in order to get his way is one of intimidation and bullying, threatening tax inspections and worse rather than substantive debate on issues. Zelaya's inability to name a Vice Minister for Security lends credibility to those who suggest that narco traffickers have pressured him to name one of their own to this position. Due to his close association with persons believed to be involved with international organized crime, the motivation behind many of his policy decisions can certainly be questioned. I am unable to brief Zelaya on sensitive law enforcement and counter-narcotics actions due my concern that this would put the lives of U.S. officials in jeopardy.

10. (S) I have found Zelaya,s real views of the United States hidden not too very deeply below the surface. In a word, he is not a friend. His views are shaped not by ideology or personal ambitions but by an old-fashioned nationalism where he holds the United States accountable for Honduras, current state of poverty and dependency. Zelaya,s public position against the Contra War and against the establishment of Joint Task Force Bravo at Soto Cano Air

…14. (S) Finally, Zelaya recently is fond of saying that we need to improve our communication, which I interpret to mean that we need to agree with him more often. A similar fate has befallen Cardinal Rodriguez who used to meet, as I do, regularly with the President. As the Cardinal in recent months has found himself in disagreement with Zelaya and is not participating publicly in his projects, Zelaya is working increasingly with pastors in the evangelical community. The Cardinal recently told me that he and the President hardly speak now as the President is unhappy that he doesn't agree with the direction Zelaya is taking the country. For Zelaya, communicating means agreeing unquestionably with his point of view.

15. (S) GOING FORWARD: The last year and a half of the Zelaya Administration will be, in my view, extraordinarily difficult for our bilateral relationship. His pursuit of immunity from the numerous activities of organized crime carried out in his Administration will cause him to threaten the rule of law and institutional stability. Honduran institutions and friendly governments will need to be prepared to act privately and in public to help move Honduras
forward.

Clearly, the Obama Administration knew they were supporting a dangerous, far left, unpredictable, narcissistic and power-hungry wannabe tyrant.
They sided with him anyway at the expense of the Honduran people. Thank goodness the Obama Administration did not get their way.

Remember: When Barack Obama, the worst jobs president since the Great Depression, talks about creating jobs, he's lying through his teeth.

The Obama Adminstration, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and radical environmentalists are about to set greenhouse gas standards for American industry. drawn objections from congressional state leaders and I who say the law — last revised in 1990 — was never intended for such purposes. The new regulations will place heavy administrative burdens on state environmental quality agencies, will be costly to consumers and could be devastating to the economy and jobs. But Team Obama doesn't care. They say they have to push the regulations to save the planet from non-existent global warming.

Radical environmentalists are helping craft this anti-American bill.
The Politico reported:

The Obama administration is expected to roll out a major greenhouse gas policy for power plants and refineries as soon as Wednesday, signaling it won't back off its push to fight climate change in the face of mounting opposition on Capitol Hill.

The Environmental Protection Agency has agreed to a schedule for setting greenhouse gas emission limits, known as "performance standards," for the nation's two biggest carbon-emitting industries, POLITICO has learned.

Under the schedule agreed to by EPA, states and environmental groups, the agency will issue a draft greenhouse gas performance standard for power plants by July 2011 and a final rule by May 2012. The agreement – which comes after states and environmentalists challenged the George W. Bush administration's failure to set the standards – requires EPA to issue a draft limit for refineries by Dec. 2011 and a final rule by Nov. 2012.

The White House Office of Management and Budget has signed off on the schedule, according to a litigant in the legal fight.

The standards are part of a series of climate rules from the Obama administration that have faced fierce opposition from industry groups and lawmakers on both sides of the aisle. And while the policies won't go final for more than a year, the political ramifications will come immediately.

They will come as welcome news to environmentalists who want the administration to flex its regulatory muscle following the death of climate legislation this year, but EPA can expect its foes on the right to blast the move as another example of regulatory overreach.

New EPA regulations at one coal power plant in New Mexico could cost $1 billion.
This new cost will be passed on to consumers.

Breaking: Senate Votes To Ratify Nuclear Arms Pact With Russia

The Senate has voted to ratify the START treaty with Russia.  A two-thirds majority (67) was needed for ratification.  The measure passed with 71 votes.

The Senate ratified the strategic nuclear arms treaty between the United States and Russia on Wednesday, fulfilling President Obama's major foreign policy goal for the lame-duck session.

By a 71-26 vote, the Senate approved the treaty, known as New START, which Republicans had blocked.

Under the treaty, Russia and the United States agree to limit the number of nuclear warheads to 1,550 each, down from the ceiling of 2,200. The pact also establishes a system for monitoring and verification. The treaty was signed by Obama and Russian President Dmitrey Medvedev on April 8.

Vice President Biden presided over the Senate's 71-26 vote with Secretary Hillary Clinton in attendance.  This is considered to be a major legislative victory for President Obama.

The Republicans voting yes were Sens. Lamar Alexander (Tenn.), Robert Bennett (Utah), Scott Brown (Mass.), Thad Cochran (Miss.), Susan Collins (Maine), Bob Corker (Tenn.), Judd Gregg (N.H.) Johnny Isakson (Ga.), Mike Johanns (Neb.), Richard Lugar (Ind.), Lisa Murkowski (Alaska.), Olympia Snowe (Maine.), and George Voinovich (Ohio).

Everyone Must Sacrifice… Michelle Obama’s Special Hawaii Trip Will Cost Taxpayers $63,000

In January 2009, before the president signed his failed $787 billion stimulus bill into law, Barack Obama lectured America saying,

"Everyone must sacrifice for the greater good… Everyone must have some skin in the game."

Everyone but Barack and Michelle Obama.

Not only are the Obamas taking another vacation this year, this time to Hawaii, but Michelle Obama's special trip will cost taxpayers an additional $63,000.
The White House Dossier reported:

The decision by First Lady Michelle Obama to leave on schedule for her two-week Hawaii vacation and not wait a few days for her delayed husband will probably cost taxpayers more than $63,000 in additional expenses, according to a White House Dossier analysis.

President Obama was supposed to depart for Hawaii Saturday, but decided to stay in Washington until Congress finishes its work for the year. He's now expected to depart today or tomorrow. But Mrs. Obama chose to leave without him Saturday, taking their two children and the dog along with her.

Mrs. Obama's decision to go without the president forced her to take a separate plane, meaning two flights instead of one were needed to ferry the First Family to their vacation destination. Unless for some reason her plane was headed to Hawaii anyway, her trip involves substantial additional costs.

Sacrifice is for the little people.

War on Christmas: Atheists now labelling Christmas trees a symbol of violence

The idiot 'scientists' behind this latest battle in the war on Christmas want Christmas trees removed from all public places to avoid making non-Christians feel "excluded". Not just excluded but "threatened." Apparently, behind every atheist nightmare lurks a.... Christmas tree. From the UK Telegraph via memeorandum: Christmas trees 'make non-Christians feel excluded'

Researchers at Simon Fraser University in Canada, found non-Christians feel less self-assured and have fewer positive feelings if a Christmas tree was in the room.

The scientists conducted the study using 77 Christians and 57 non-believers, including Buddhists and Sikhs.

The participants did not know the survey was about Christmas, and were asked to fill in questions about themselves both when a 12-inch Christmas tree was in the room and when it was not.

1) Is this what the fund in Canada under the guise of science? 2) A 12-inch tree? 12 inches? I quote Charlie Brown: "good grief."

"Non-celebrators" reported fewer positive feelings and less self-assurance in the Christmas room. Christians were mostly cheered by the tree.

Christians, however, did report feeling more guilt when a tree was in the room, which, claim the researchers, suggests the holidays can be stressful.

The 'researchers' also termed Christmas trees "threatening." Threatening. Likely the first time I have seen a Christmas tree correlated with violence.

That chill you're feeling in the air this holiday season? Global warming, baby. Global warming. Just further proof that the entire movement is a farce where alarmists see global warming behind literally everything.
