The Code Pink Killing Fields: How Far Left Activists and Barbara Boxer Aided Enemy Agents in Iraq

It should be noted that the so-called "peace activists" at the Code Pink organization are anything but peace activists. These anti-American radicals and Marxists supported the mass murderer Saddam Hussein who ran one of the most brutal regimes in the 20th century. Code Pink activists currently support the illegitimateIranian regime, the Marxist Chavez regime in Venezuela and have even met with Taliban Islamists.

On November 22, 2004, the socialist anti-American group Code Pink sent out a plea to supporters to help send assistance to the "refugees" from Fallujah, Iraq.

Today, as CODEPINK was busily preparing a year-end humanitarian mission to Iraq, we received an urgent message. It was from our dear friend Dahr Jamail, an amazing American independent journalist who has been risking his life to get the true story of Fallujah to the American public:

"I have just come from a refugee camp in Baghdad with families from Fallujah. The suffering is beyond description. It's worse than anything you've read or anything I've written so far.

This is a humanitarian crisis. They need medicines for their camp and the other camps immediately. We have an organization set up of doctors who can distribute the medicines and supplies. BUT WE NEED THEM NOW! THIS CANNOT WAIT!"

The next day, on November 23, 2004, Code Pink announced that they had raised nearly $20,000 in one day for "refugess" from Fallujah.

Yesterday we put out an urgent call for aid to refugees from Fallujah, with an initial goal of raising $20,000. The response was amazing. From a $10 donation from a high school student to a $1,000 gift from a medical doctor, the compassion of the American people began to shine through the fog of war. In less than 24 hours, we surpassed our goal and that's just the online donations!

In addition, a humanitarian aid group donated 300 pounds of priority medical supplies, Cliff Bar is donating high-protein bars for the children, an Iraqi-American returning home offered to be our on-the-ground liaison and people are pledging to do holiday house parties to raise more funds.

When we contacted journalist Dahr Jamail to tell him to good news, he was elated. "Holy cow, $20,000 already? I'm catching my breath. This is so beautiful." Dahr had just returned from a visit to the Red Crescent, who said they could only care for "at most" 60,000 refugees. "This leaves at least 140,000 refugees, mostly women and children, with no support," said Dahr. "These supplies will be their lifeline."

On December 3, 2004, Code Pink announced that after only one week into their campaign they had sent $30,000 to Iraq. Their contact Dahr Jamail claimed the donations bought blankets, warm clothing, food, portable heaters, cooking stoves, stove and heater fuel, antibiotics, needles, sterile gloves, pain medications, gauze, basic first aid materials, water tanks, pipes, water pumps and water purification materials. Dahr Jamail and Code Pink also claimed that these supplies had already distributed to the refugees. The radicals at Code Pink must run an amazingly efficient operation. We'll discuss Dahr Jamail below.

Code Pink travels to Iraq

Code Pink later reported that they had collected $100,000 in donations. It was also reported that "humanitarian groups" such as the Middle East Children"s Alliance and Operation USA contributed $500,000 worth of medical supplies.

Code Pink was ready to deliver their supplies and donations to the Fallujah refugees. But there was a problem. They needed assistance from Congress to approve their trip. In stepped Senator Barabara Boxer (D-CA) along with RepresentativesRaul Grijalva (D-AZ), Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) and Henry Waxman (D-CA). These radical members of Congress signed letters to approve their trip to Jordan and the Iraqi border.

VFW Dissolves ENTIRE VFW-Pac After Boxer Endorsement

Sorry, Senator 'Maam'… No endorsement for you.

Barbara Boxer is one fo the Code Pink 4 who signed letters for Code Pink activists so they could travel to the Iraqi border to assist extremists during the War in Iraq.

BlackFive is reporting today that the Commander in Chief of the VFW Richard Eubank has dissolved the VFW Pac after it endorsed Barbara Boxer and a group of far left America-hating liberals.
Here's the letter:

I have reviewed the Political Action Committee (PAC) Board of Directors' response to our request to rescind this year's Congressional endorsements. I disagree with their assessment.

It is now evident to most of the VFW leadership, both National and especially the departments, that the VFW has been subjected to extreme negative publicity throughout the nation, and the recent endorsement decisions have, in fact, harmed the VFW's reputation and future ability to fulfill our mission.

I cannot let this erosion of public support for our great organization continue. The apparent lack of the committee to address these concerns will lead to a proposal by me, as Commander-in-Chief, to amend the by-laws at the 112th National Convention for the purpose of dissolving the PAC. Meanwhile, under the authority granted to me as Commander-in-Chief in section 619 of the VFW National By-Laws and under section 620 of the Manual of Procedure, I am withdrawing all PAC appointments effective October 15, 2010.

Accordingly, I'm asking the council for a vote of "no confidence" in the VFW PAC as
indicated on the enclosed ballot.

It was the right thing to do.

Morning Bell: Big Government’s Government Union Firewall

Generous contracts paid for by your tax dollars have become the main source of union growth. While private-sector unions lost 834,000 members in 2009, public-sector unions actually gained 64,000 members.

Indications are that the Progressive Movement is headed for a crushing defeat two weeks from now. Political analysts Stu Rothenberg and Charlie Cook both peg the number of competitive House races at around 100. Separately, both analysts are also predicting Democrats will lose between 45 and 60 seats (39 are needed to switch control of the House). Striking back against the electorate's small government fervor, AFL-CIO Political Director Karen Ackerman penned a strategy memo last week claiming "Union Voters are the firewall for candidates that support working families."

And sure enough Big Labor is pouring millions of dollars into this fall's elections. The Service Employees International Union (SEIU) has spent $1.3 million on ads since September alone, and the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) has spent another $5.2 million. Ackerman comforts Beltway liberals: "The AFL-CIO's grassroots political program has an incredible reach, with union families talking to 17 million of their co-workers; comprised of union members, their families, retirees and members of Working America. Outside the political party committees themselves, we have the largest political mobilization operation in the country."

What Ackerman doesn't mention is that the majority of these "union members" don't get their paychecks from private employers; they are paid by you, the taxpayers. The AFL-CIO may have once represented the interests of steelworkers, auto workers and teamsters, but now the largest union in the AFL-CIO is AFSCME. In fact, 2009 was a historic year for Big Labor: for the first time in American history the majority of union members now work for the government, not the private sector.

It was not supposed to be this way. Big Labor's biggest champion, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt wrote in 1937: "All Government employees should realize that the process of collective bargaining, as usually understood, cannot be transplanted into the public service. … The employer is the whole people, who speak by means of laws enacted by their representatives in Congress." Collective bargaining, the anti-trust exemption at the heart the labor movement's power, was created to help workers seize their "fair share" of business profits. If a union ends up extracting a contract from a private firm that eats up too much profits, that firm will lose out to competitors. But while private firms face competition, governments don't. So when a union extracts a generous contract from government, there is no check on that spending. Instead of being disciplined by more efficient competitors, the government just pays for higher spending with higher taxes.

And generous contracts paid for by your tax dollars have become the main source of union growth. While private-sector unions lost 834,000 members in 2009, public-sector unions actually gained 64,000 members. Not only has the federal government been adding new union members, but the government is also paying them more than their services are worth in the private sector. Depending on the methodology employed, the average federal employee receives as much as 40% more in total compensation than an equally skilled private sector worker would receive. Including both wages and benefits, overpaying federal workers costs taxpayers approximately $40–50 billion per year. Government unions then take your tax dollars, turn right around, and use them to lobby for even bigger government. From Maine, to Florida, to Illinois, to California, your tax dollars are being used to lobby for higher taxes and higher spending.

The American people are beginning to catch on to the government union game. A new poll released today by The Washington Post finds that 52% of Americans believe that federal workers are overpaid for the work that they do. And three-quarters of those surveyed say they think federal workers are paid more and get better benefits than their counterparts in the private sector.

Not all federal employees are overpaid. Some highly skilled federal workers took pay cuts to serve their country, no doubt. But that is all the more reason Congress should reform how federal employees should be compensated. Congress should expand outsourcing to the private sector and replace the General Schedule with a performance-based pay system tied to market compensation. That would be one giant step toward ending the government union big government machine.

Joe Biden was there and when his image appeared on the screen, a smattering of clapping started but it was then replaced with booing that proceeded to get louder and louder. Everyone around him was booing as loud as they could. Then after it stopped, conversations all around him started about Obama, Pelosi and healthcare, etc. He reminded me that the members of the audience were not just from Philadelphia City but from surrounding counties in PA and NJ. His entourage then cleared a path through traffic making it far worse and delaying all which then cemented in the minds of the fans the elitism of government officials. Gotta hope it is a sign of the election to come. Obama did this in NJ right before the Christie election in the Camden area the night of a game in Philly, making everyone late for the game and annoying all ticket holders from New Jersey.

It should be noted, of course, that Philly sports fans are equal-opportunity when it comes to their derision of politicians. And this is, after all, how we Philly-born people roll:

New Taliban terror threat concerns U.S. security, law enforcement officials

Senior U.S. intelligence, security and law enforcement officials are concerned over recent intelligence and "chatter" that strongly suugests the Pakistani Taliban may have already snuck another terrorist into the U.S. to launch an attack, according to Fox News Channel's National Security Correspondent Jennifer Griffin in her terrorism report yesterday.

Authorities, however, know very little about the suspected Taliban agent or any possible plot, but they are seriously investigating the threat. (more…)

Barney Frank has been in Congress utterly disconnected from reality that he doesn't know that digital video and YouTube exists. Here's a quote from Frank in 2003 in the New York Times:

'These two entities -- Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac -- are not facing any kind of financial crisis,'' said Representative Barney Frank of Massachusetts, the ranking Democrat on the Financial Services Committee. ''The more people exaggerate these problems, the more pressure there is on these companies, the less we will see in terms of affordable housing.''

Fast forward to the present day, and Frank's tune has changed substantially. From Greg Mankiw via Instapundit, a Frank quote from the Boston Globe:

Frank, a leading liberal who has represented the state's Fourth Congressional District for nearly 30 years and became chairman of the House Financial Services Committee in 2007, said he and other Democrats fought to curb predatory lending practices before the recession but were thwarted by Republicans. He said he had supported efforts to help low-income families rent homes, rather than buy them.

"Low-income home ownership has been a mistake, and I have been a consistent critic of it,'' said Frank, 70. Republicans, he said, were principally responsible for failing to reform Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the mortgage giants the government seized in September 2008.

What a shameless liar! Here's the video of Frank's current story:

Bush didn't cause the housing meltdown. Barney Frank will blame everybody and everything (especially lack of regulation) except himself, especially for the housing meltdown, even though he pushed for the expansion of Freddie and Fannie, was having his way with a Fannie Mae executive's fannie, even though he and the Democrats attacked the regulator of the giant GSEs when they were trying to regulate them, squelched all 17 warnings coming from Bush, etc. Different scenario, same result, same tactics, same excuses.
