Climate Deception Is A Crime Against Humanity?

The world was deceived about CO2 and climate change because too many good people did nothing. Worse, they viciously attacked the few who dared to speak out.

How can they get away with such incredible arrogance and deception? Executive Secretary Christiana Figueres of the UN Framework Convention on Climate (UNFCC) said "Let me be clear – there is no magic bullet, no one climate agreement that will solve everything right now," "To expect that is naive. However, I am certain the world can do this step by step, but only if we keep on walking firmly in the right direction, including at Cancun." She is talking about stopping or controlling climate change. Clearly Ms. Figueres knows nothing about climate science or doesn't want to know.

There is nothing to solve except how the world was deceived that humans are the sole cause of climate change and therefore it can be controlled. It's a delusion of modern, technologically, and bureaucratically arrogant people. She should know the cost of the delusion that human CO2 is causing climate change has produced. How people are being subjected to serious social and economic harm that borders on atrocities. Maybe her degree in anthropology would help her resolve this and other resulting issues. Maybe she could explain how a group of people who falsified data, practiced inaccurate and inadequate science, convinced governments to introduce completely unnecessary and harmful policies, and fooled the Nobel Committee into giving them a Peace Prize. To call what they did a contribution to peace is an intellectual farce. But it is not a farce to consider that it appears to fit the definition of Crimes against Humanity. Mass atrocities are organized crimes whose perpetrators need money, weapons, transportation, and other means to commit widespread and systematic violence against civilians. A country, commercial entity, or individual enables mass atrocities when it provides resources, goods, services, or other practical support to the perpetrator, and when this support is a critical ingredient in the commission of the atrocities.

The Deadly Silent Majority

People at the Climatic Research Unit (CRU), participants in the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and Al Gore are directly responsible but they only succeed with the silence of the majority. Edmund Burke said, "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." But who is included as "good" in his definition? Surely if they do nothing, they are not good. Why are whistleblower laws necessary to protect people who identify malfeasance and illegality? The world was deceived about CO2 and climate change because too many good people did nothing. Worse, they viciously attacked the few who dared to speak out. There is a debate raging about generalizations. The claim is you cannot condemn an entire group because of the actions of a few individuals. Yes you can, and must, because if the group do not condemn then their silence is unspoken support for what is happening.

Because of the deliberate deception and vigorous propaganda that CO2 was causing warming actions were demanded and pursued. Completely unnecessary and devastating policies were implemented. We're wasting billions on climate change programs and alternate energy programs. Nations who pursued green energy and jobs policies are in serious financial problems. Nations like Britain and regions like Ontario Canada or California that abandoned or failed to update traditional energy sources, including nuclear, will have inadequate power supplies for many years to come. The cost of everything, especially food, has soared and will continue to rise. Industries have closed and more are threatened as draconian restrictions on carbon production are introduced. Other industries have evolved simply because of government subsidies. They are not sustainable and will fail when subsidies end. A hint of this is provided by the impending expiry of biofuels subsidies.

Steve McIntyre provided valuable evidence of the corruption in climate science when he identified the misuse of data and statistics in the graph dubbed "the hockey stick." He refuses to say the errors and actions taken by Michael Mann and his associates were deliberate despite overwhelming evidence. He distances himself from those more forceful in identifying their actions as deliberate.

He claims, "CA (Climate Audit) readers know that I express myself carefully and try to make my opinions as narrow and precise as possible."

The problem is when he had opportunities to speak out, even in a narrow way he failed. At the hearing chaired by Congressman Joe Barton of Texas, he was upstaged by Mann. It's reasonable to consider errors genuine or a result of ignorance. However, the consideration must include all the factors involved. How many errors are necessary before a pattern emerges? If the person was unaware of the error, it means they are incompetent anyway? Fortunately, in reporting to Barton's Committee the Wegman Committee showed more gumption. They identified the scientific errors and the social dynamics of the small group who controlled publications and the peer review process of climate science. Now Wegman is under attack accused of plagiarism in the ongoing effort to personally discredit anyone who identifies the criminality of Mann's actions and those who were associated with him. Climategate exists because of the corruption.

Failure of people to pursue the crimes committed by those involved with Climategate has emboldened them and their supporters to launch a claim to being the aggrieved parties. They can only do this because the leaders have whitewashed their actions. Continuations of the fiascos that are the UNFCC, the IPCC and the WMO filled with people who only work to perpetuate themselves mean it is increasingly urgent for the people to identify them as accessories after the fact. To co-opt an idea from the environmental movement, we must act locally by demanding accountability of national weather and climate agencies. Many of them are tacitly acknowledging culpability by investigating their data sources and management. (Sources here and here)

They Admit It Has Nothing To Do With Facts

The climate debacle has some frightening bookends. Stephen Schneider set the tone when he was quoted in Discovery magazine (October 1989) that scientist's need, "to get some broader based support, to capture the public's imagination…that, of course, entails getting loads of media coverage. So we have to offer up some scary scenarios, make simplified dramatic statements and make little mention of any doubts we may have…each of us has to decide what the right balance is between being effective, and being honest." The last sentence is deeply disturbing—there is no decision required.

Melanie Phillips reports CRU member Mike Hulme restating Schneider's views recently. "Global warming, he claimed, was an example of 'post-normal science' which did not seek to establish the truth through evidence. Instead, truth had to be traded for influence. In areas of uncertainty, scientists had to present their beliefs instead as a basis for policy."

Phillips comments, "It was an admission that, in the name of science, scientific reason had been junked altogether to promote mere ideological conviction. That is the real message of 'Climategate'."

True, but it's much more. It's an admission that the world was deliberately deceived. They succeeded because they attacked those who dared to question. They got away with it because experts who knew about serious problems kept quiet. They got away with it because nobody added up the total cost and human impact. They've been allowed to "commit widespread and systematic violence against civilians," therefore the climate deception is a crime against humanity.

Security vs. Political Correctness

Fighting against terrorism, an evil which rejects all the basic moral and legal norms of civilized society, is inherently difficult for liberal democracies such as the United States.

For those who have wondered why our TSA behaves so differently from the Israeli security forces at airports, the following article provides a reasonable explanation.

Fighting against terrorism, an evil which rejects all the basic moral and legal norms of civilized society, is inherently difficult for liberal democracies such as the United States. It forces us to find the right balance between the protection of civil liberties on one hand and the prevention of violence on the other. It is clear that the latest TSA policy which gives passengers the Hobson's choice of losing your dignity or staying home is not "balanced."

Many of the issues in front of our policymakers have previously been faced by Israel, a country that has been under the threat of terrorist attack since its inception in 1948. We keep hearing why can't we run our airport security the same way they do in Israel. Most people, however do not have a clear idea of what is that "Israeli way."

The real difference between the Israeli and American approach is the target. Israel tries to identify and stop the terrorist while the U.S. targets the bomb or other weapon. This approach does not change whether there is a left or right wing Prime Minister in power because the government realizes for Israel, the fight against terrorism is a fight for its very survival. Thus her government and citizenry have a view of preventing terrorism that is unencumbered by the political correctness which restrains efforts in the United States.

The ISA (Israeli Security Agency) calls it "human factor." Some part of that human factor would cause Al Sharpton to show up to picket the Airport if it was practiced in the US. Ethnic profiling of passengers plays a central role in Israel's multi-level approach. Not just ethnicity is profile, race religion, general appearance and behavior are also part of the information used to profile. And wherever that profile is being made, no matter what country it is being made in, it is an Israeli doing the profile.

All passengers travelling to and from Israel are questioned by security staff. For Jewish Israelis, the process takes a couple of minutes at most, with passengers being asked whether they packed their luggage alone, and whether anyone had access to the luggage once it was packed. Jewish tourists also usually pass through security within a few minutes.

When my family entered the El Al terminal at Newark Airport, we were met by someone who asked where we came from and where were going. When we got into the terminal and on the line to check in, an El Al employee asked my 12 year old son (out of my ear's range) why we were going to Israel. He asked if we were Jewish and when my son answered yes, so followed up by asking the name of our Synagogue and our Rabbi's name. But while he was asking questions I could feel his eyes gauging my reaction to our kid's interrogation. The "interrogation" took no longer than thirty seconds. When he was done with my son, he came to me and asked the same questions (plus the typical who packed your luggage-type queries) once again gauging my reaction very closely.

Like the Mossad, tank drivers, and air force pilots, Israeli airport security have that super hero, no-nonsense, get to the point directness and efficiency. "Who packed your bags?" "What was your bar mitzah portion?" "Why are you even here visiting?" This quick-fire interrogation was not bothersome but reassuring. We got the feeling that we were dealing with people who knew what they were doing.

Non-Jewish tourists tend to be questioned a bit more thoroughly, and may be grilled over the purpose of their visit and about their accommodation…

… the procedure for Arabs and Muslims can often be lengthy and irritating, ending with a full body and baggage search. Visitors who have passport stamps from countries hostile to Israel are also questioned intensively in what can be a traumatic experience for the uninitiated.

….Anyone admitting to leaving their luggage at an airport or bus station left-luggage area before check-in will have their suitcases stripped, with each item individually checked and re-packed.

In 2008, Israel's supreme court rejected a petition presented by a group of disgruntled Israeli Arab citizens, backed by the Association of Civil Rights in Israel, demanding an end to ethnic profiling as discriminatory and illegal.

If I had been more attentive when I was travelling to Israel, I would have noticed that throughout the terminal there were "armed eyes" looking at my family as well as everyone else about to get on a plane. These observers were making the same behavioral profiles as the guy who questioned people on line.

"It is mindboggling for us Israelis to look at what happens in North America, because we went through this 50 years ago," said Rafi Sela, the president of AR Challenges, a global transportation security consultancy.,.

Officers are looking for nervousness or other signs of "distress" — behavioral profiling. Sela rejects the argument that profiling is discriminatory.

"The word 'profiling' is a political invention by people who don't want to do security," he said. "To us, it doesn't matter if he's black, white, young or old. It's just his behavior. So what kind of privacy am I really stepping on when I'm doing this?"

There are other differences, most importantly is that you don't just come off the street and get a job with the ISA (Israel Security Agency). These security agents are all ex-military (as most of the country is) and they are selected based on their intelligence and their ability to behavior profile.

Shlomo Harnoy, vice president of the Sdema group, an Israeli security consultancy firm which specialises in aviation security, believes Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, the Nigerian who tried to blow up the Detroit-bound Northwest Airlines aircraft on Christmas Day, would have been detained "within seconds " at Ben Gurion airport. According to Harnoy, a young Muslim traveling alone, on a one-way ticket, with no luggage, was an obvious suspect.

Harnoy, who once headed the Israel Security Agency's aviation security department, believes investing millions in new technology is not the answer. "Whoever is concentrating on stopping old ladies bringing a bottle of mineral water on to the plane will not find the terrorist, or the bomb. The old lady is not a suicide bomber and the bottle of water is not a bomb component."

Not only do most Israeli security selectors have degree-level education, they are trained to the highest standards. The most important element in the "human factor" is that the security guards understand the threat.

And of course, on every El Al flight there are armed air marshals. You won't know who they are, but I do not recommended you making a fuss mid-air just to find out.

As for my families first brush with Israeli Airport Security, we arrived in Ben Gurion Airport twelve hours later, tired but not even realizing that we went through a more extensive security process than we ever had before.

As the United States defends against the ever expanding threat of Muslim terror, right here on our home turf, success depends on throwing off the shackles of political correctness and adopting the methods of our ally Israel.

However the US is stuck in what seems to be an irreversible and deadly policy of treating everyone the same., even though we are all individuals and very different. The ultimate result is an airport security process that gives you a choice of being abused by a machine or the groping hands of an untrained TSA agent. The present TSA policies put passengers and the X-Ray appliances that reveal their bare bodies in the same category as they are both treated like machines.

During her 62 year fight against terror, Israel has achieved a balance between protection of civil liberties and the prevention of violence. Her decision was that the sanctity of saving human lives and preserving personal dignity, outweighs the targeting and possible inconvenience of the extra questioning of a few.

Or in the words of that great philosopher from the band KISS, Gene Simmons ;

I think we should be racially profiling anybody from the Middle East … and as an Israeli; I want you to look at me first. I want you to search my anal cavity and look at my tax records. I want you to look at me first, and then at every guy named Muhammad.

Top Federal Reserve officials expect the unemployment rate to remain around nine percent at the end of next year and still be over eight percent at the end of 2012.

President Barack Obama and Democrats in Congress better hope that Federal Reserve officials are wrong in their predictions for the U.S. economy in the next two years, if they hope to do better in the 2012 elections than they did in the mid-terms earlier this month.

The news released by 18 top leaders of the central bank Tuesday was not encouraging to Democrats. Top Federal Reserve officials expect the unemployment rate to remain around nine percent at the end of next year and still be over eight percent at the end of 2012.

The internal forecasts released, explained, according to officials why the central bank had decided to embark on new efforts to boost the economy three weeks ago.

In the minutes of the meeting held earlier in the month and released Tuesday, the central bank officials said they expected to economy to grow at 3 to 3.6 percent pace next year, down from its previous forecast that said the economy would grow at 3.5 to 4.2 percent in 2011. This means that the unemployment would still be around 9 percent by the end of next year – 8.9 to 9.1 percent.

Also on Tuesday, The National Association of Realtors, announced that sales of previously owned homes slipped 2.2 percent last month to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 4.43 million units. The performance was weaker than had been expected. Economists at JPMorgan Chase had forecast that sales would rise in October to an annual rate of 4.60 million units.

Sales had plunged to the slowest pace in 15 years in July and then posted gains in August and September before slipping back in October. Sales in October were 38.9 percent below their peak of 7.25 million units set in September 2005 during the height of the housing boom.

The information released showed that the median price for a home sold in October was $170,500, down 0.9 percent from a year ago, as prices continue to be depressed by weak sales conditions and a huge overhang of unsold homes.

Taken together, the economic figures released Tuesday, show that they economy still has a long way to go before anyone can say it has recovered from the recession, or even that it has improved significantly.

The minutes of the Federal Reserve meeting were meant to show economists all around the world why American central bankers had decided to buy $600 billion of Treasury bonds in a bid to lower long-term interest rates and encourage growth. Their decision was criticized strongly by foreign finance ministers, Republican members of Congress and conservative economists.

“Though the economic recovery was continuing, members considered progress toward meeting the Committee’s dual mandate of maximum employment and price stability as having been disappointingly slow,” the minutes said. “Moreover, members generally thought that progress was likely to remain slow.”

However, the document also leaves little doubt that several Fed officials remain uneasy with the action. Some anticipated that the decision would have only a “limited” effect on the pace of recovery, arguing that action should be taken only if the odds of deflation “increased materially.”

And some “noted concern” that the action “could put unwanted downward pressure on the dollar’s value in foreign exchange markets” or “an undesirably large increase in inflation.”

Despite all efforts by the administration and the Federal Reserve, the housing market has never fully recovered from the downturn. Some can’t sell their current home to upgrade to a larger home, either because they have lost equity or they can’t find prospective buyers.

Some analysts said that the moratorium that many big lenders imposed on foreclosures may have dampened sales in October by introducing more uncertainty in the sales market. The National Association of Realtors, however, said a bigger problem is the tight lending standards that banks have put in place in the wake of record foreclosures.

“The dial has been tightened way too much” on lending standards, said Lawrence Yun, chief economist of the Realtors.

Yun forecast that sales of existing homes for the entire year will total 4.8 million units, which would be 7 percent below the 5.16 million homes sold last year, showing that the housing market continues to struggle with tight credit and unemployment that remains painfully high in the wake of the worst recession since the 1930s.

The forecast of 4.8 million sales would be the poorest performance since 1997 when 4.37 million homes were sold. Yun said he was looking for a modest rebound in 2011 as the labor market slowly improves. He forecast sales of previously owned homes would rise to 5.1 million units next year.

As to the first, there’s the case of Frank Marshall Davis; on the second, there’s Jimmy Carter.

As I’ve written here and elsewhere, Frank Marshall Davis was a mentor to Barack Obama and an actual CPUSA member.

Only recently, with the declassification of Davis’s 600-page FBI file, can we see the evidence. In my book, Dupes, on page 507, I reprint an FBI document that features Davis’s Communist Party number: 47544.

For communists, however, this was a no-brainer: They wanted no U.S. involvement because they wanted all of Korea to be communist, following Red China’s recent path. This was the Stalinist line, the Maoist line, and the worldwide communist line. Thus, American communists ridiculed the very idea of U.S. engagement as a McCarthyite manifestation of paranoid anti-communism, as an “inordinate fear” of communism, as U.S. imperialism, as Uncle Sam sticking his nose where it didn’t belong, as…well, whatever worked.

The communist left didn’t stop pushing this line until the north was firmly in communist hands. It has been a murderous dungeon ever since, run by two lunatics from the Kim family. These two men, of course, can’t be trusted, which brings me to my second case, involving Jimmy Carter.
