New claim: Global warming is making the Earth literally crumble to pieces!

There is no claim outlandish enough for global warming proponents to hold at arms length lest they been seen for the fools they are. Yet the moonbats are so close to getting global control over people's lives, which they will subsequently use to quash any good standard of living, that they are flailing around now in taking the kitchen sink approach with any possible claim. Nothing is sticking. This claim won't either (from New Scientist via William Teach):
EARTH is starting to crumble under the strain of climate change.
Over the last decade, rock avalanches and landslides have become more common in high mountain ranges, apparently coinciding with the increase in exceptionally warm periods (see "Early signs"). The collapses are triggered by melting glaciers and permafrost, which remove the glue that holds steep mountain slopes together.
Worse may be to come. Thinning glaciers on volcanoes could destabilise vast chunks of their summit cones, triggering mega-landslides capable of flattening cities such as Seattle and devastating local infrastructure.
The claim is made by what happened when we came out of the last ice age some 10,000 years ago. The NOAA ice core data reveals this:
See that huge spike on the left? That was the end of the ice age. See that massive spike on the right? Me neither. Thus the 2 events must be equivalent according to New Scientist, so we ought to crush our economy that will do nothing in preventing a problem that doesn't exist. In regards to the above temperature data, where were all the rock slides in historical texts every time there was a real temperature spike, the last one occurring during the dark ages when Crusaders fought against Muslim invaders driving gas guzzling SUVs? As it is, mankind is responsible for only 3.4% of CO2 in the atmosphere, the other 96.6% coming from mostly the oceans and then forests and vegetation. So unless Congress can start regulating the 70% of the planet covered by water, reducing any chunk of that 3.4% will do exactly jack squat. HT: Right Wing News
