Yields on 30-Year Treasuries Rise Most in 14 Months on Inflation Prospects

Treasury 30-year bonds tumbled, pushing yields to the biggest weekly increase since August 2009, on speculation that Federal Reserve efforts to spur the economy will reignite inflation.

By Daniel Kruger and Susanne Walker – Oct 16, 2010 at Bloomberg.com

EXCERPTS:

The 30-year yield rose above 4 percent yesterday for the first time in two months after data showed retail sales rose more than forecast and New York area manufacturing climbed. Fed Chairman Ben S. Bernanke said additional stimulus may be warranted, in part because inflation is too low.

Bernanke said yesterday the central bank could expand asset purchases, a strategy known as quantitative easing, or change the language in its statement to try to spur the economy.

The Fed previously acquired about $1.7 trillion of Treasury and mortgage-related debt to sustain the recovery, concluding the program in March.

Irony: Anti-Obesity Michelle Obama Orders Double Cheeseburger & Fries At Milwaukee Diner (With Vide

Michelle Obama wants doctors to prescribe drugs for fat kids. She wants to restrict what children are allowed to eat. As part of the ruling class though, she has an abundance of hypocrisy in her veins. She stopped off at a diner in Milwaukee recently, and ordered a DOUBLE cheeseburger and fires, full of grease that she rails against (click on pic for vid):

Video: Obama admits he made racial tensions worse

This is a video clip from Obama's AstroTurf MTV Townhall for which MTV sent out a casting call: Toxic: MTV, BET, and CMT are CASTING the audience for a townhall meeting with Obama on Oct 14th. I don't know if this guy was one of the hired actors or not, but he asked Obama basically why hopey changy that was supposed to change things for the better changed things for the worse instead. Obama - the man that wrecked the economy - answered that racial tensions were due to said bad economy that he created, thus implicitly admitting that it's his fault that racial tensions have gotten worse:

Golf Cart Stimulus

Remember when Glenn Beck interviewed John Stossel of FOX about his free golf cart?  I am hearing from friends that they know people who have bought a golf cart for free - you paid for it.  That is the President's idea of Stimulus.

This would be funny but for the fact that you and I are paying for golf carts for others in the name of Stimulus.

The Times-Georgian reported on September 28th:

Self-professed "tea party Republican" Jim Watters exercised a loophole in last year's tax code that allowed him to receive a complete rebate on the purchase of a golf cart, as funded through President Obama's 2009 stimulus package.

Watters wanted to buy a golf cart to show how silly it was that the Stimulus allowed people to buy "electric vehicles" and receive a huge tax credit that covers the whole cost of the cart.

Watters, who is running for the District 4 seat on the Carroll County Board of Commissioners against John Wilson, justified the decision to exploit the loophole by saying that it's illustrative of the kind of wasteful government spending that he has long decried.  Watters purchased the golf cart in December of last year after being told of the deal. As provided by the stimulus, known under the formal name of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, residents could receive a tax credit from $4,200 to $5,500 for the purchase of an electric vehicle. After the stimulus package became effective on Feb. 17, 2009, the Internal Revenue Service ruled that golf carts qualify for the electric-car credit as long as they are also road-worthy. The golf carts that qualify are effectively the same as the typical golf cart found at any country club. The qualifying carts differ in that they include some additional safety features and seat belts.

That is right, if you want a free golf cart, you merely have to buy one that has a seat belt and make sure the cart does not cost more than $5,500.  Now most carts run a bit more than that so consumers of golf cars need to see if the state they reside has a similar inscentive plan.  We can thank the Internal Revenue Service for interpreting "electric vehicle" to cover run of the mill golf carts.  Don't expect to see these vehicles on the highway, but expect to pay for all of the people who are purchasing these carts.

According to StockMarketsReview.com, if you combine the federal tax credit with similar plans for many states, you can get one that costs up to $10K.

From the statistics, the federal credit provides from $4,200 to $5,500 for the purchase of an electric vehicle, and when it is combined with similar incentive plans in many states the tax credits can pay for nearly the entire cost of a golf cart. Even in states that don't have their own tax rebate plans, the federal credit is generous enough to pay for half or even two-thirds of the average sticker price of a cart, which is typically in the range of $8,000 to $10,000. Therefore, it is almost free for one to purchase a golf cart.

This Stimulus has been a boon for the manufacturers and sellers of golf carts.  Not only that, there are foreign companies taking advantage of this plan and many domestic purchasers who are stocking up on free golf carts.

Actually, nowadays, the sales of these carts have been soaring. Although we have the world's famous golf cart, the competition is still hot, there are several abroad players begin to sense the potential of America golf cart market, one of them is Marshell, a Chinese electric vehicle manufacture.  The IRS has ruled that there's no limit to how many electric cars an individual can buy, so some enterprising profiteers are stocking up on multiple carts while the federal credit lasts, in order to resell them at a profit later.

Next time you go golfing and you get into a cart with seatbelts and side mirrors, you can be confident that you probably already paid for the cart.  Ask for a reduction in your greens fees.  This is a joke — a joke being played on the American taxpayer.

I am interested if Red State America knows of any friends or relatives who have taken advantage of this deal.  Do you know of this happening in your community?  Discuss.

If George W. Bush had doubled the national debt in one year, would you have approved?

By Eileen F. Toplansky AmericanThinker.com

If George W. Bush had doubled the national debt in one year, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had then proposed to double the debt again within ten years, would you have concurred?

If George W. Bush had criticized a state law that he admitted he never even read, would you think he was just an ignorant hothead?

If George W. Bush joined the country of Mexico and sued a state in the United States to force that state to continue to allow illegal immigration, would you question his patriotism and wonder whose side he was on?

If George W. Bush had put 87,000 workers out of work by arbitrarily placing a moratorium on offshore oil drilling merely because one company had an accident, would you have thought this was disproportionate and harmful to American workers?

If George W. Bush had forced a change in your health care coverage even though the majority of people did not seek or approve of these changes, would you begin to worry about an abuse of power by the executive branch of the government?

If George W. Bush continually bashed the United States and seemed to side with known dictators, would you feel comfortable?

If George W. Bush had been the first president to need a teleprompter installed to be able to get through a press conference, would you have laughed and said this is more proof of how linguistically inept he is?

If George W. Bush had spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to take Laura Bush to a play in New York City, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had reduced your retirement plan's holdings of GM stock by 90% and given the unions a majority stake in GM, would you have endorsed this move?

If George W. Bush had made a joke at the expense of the Special Olympics, would you have chuckled with approval?

If George W. Bush had given British Prime Minister Gordon Brown a set of inexpensive and incorrectly formatted DVDs, would you have considered this shabby and not befitting proper presidential protocol?

If George W. Bush had given the Queen of England an iPod containing videos of his speeches, would you have thought this embarrassingly narcissistic and tacky?

If George W. Bush had bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia, would you have been taken aback?

If George W. Bush had visited Austria and made reference to the nonexistent "Austrian language," would you have brushed it off as a minor slip?

If George W. Bush had filled his Cabinet and circle of advisers with people who cannot seem to keep current with their income taxes, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had stated that there were 57 states in the United States, would you have said that he is an embarrassment?

If George W. Bush had flown all the way to Denmark to make a five-minute speech about how the Olympics would benefit him, would you have thought he was a self-important, conceited, egotistical individual?

If George W. Bush had been so Spanish-illiterate as to refer to "Cinco de Cuatro" in front of the Mexican ambassador when it was the 5th of May (Cinco de Mayo), and continued to flub it when he tried again, would you have winced in embarrassment?

If George W. Bush had misspelled the word "advice" and mispronounced the word "corps," mistaking it for a dead body, would you have wondered about this man's ability to articulate English and represent his country?

If George W. Bush had burned nine thousand gallons of jet fuel to go plant a single tree on Earth Day, would you have concluded he's a hypocrite?

If George W. Bush's administration had approved of Air Force One flying low and then sending in a jet fighter in downtown Manhattan, thus causing widespread panic, would you have wondered at the lack of sensitivity displayed by the Commander-in-Chief?

If George W. Bush had failed to send relief aid to flood victims throughout the Midwest, with more people killed or made homeless than in New Orleans during Katrina, would you wonder if this lack of assistance had racial overtones? Clearly you would have been incensed by the gross incompetence — wouldn't you?

If George W. Bush had created the positions of 32 czars who report directly to him, bypassing approval by the House and Senate, would you have begun to wonder if American democracy was being trampled?

If George W. Bush had ordered the firing of the CEO of a major corporation, even though the president has no constitutional authority to do so, would you have worried about the moorings of this country and the abuse of power?

If George W. Bush had ignored outright voting rights violations and did not recommend that the Department of Justice render justice, would you begin to wonder if the man was the president of all the people or just some of the people?

So what is it about Obama that makes him so brilliant and impressive? He's done all this in fifteen months — and we still have another two years and nine months to go.

Unlabeled Halal meat being sold in USA

RWBNews:  As a Christian, eating meat that has been offered up as a sacrifice to an idol unacceptable.  Any religious belief can require standards, that isn't the argument.  The argument is if by fulfilling one religious standard, in this case Muslim, the standard is against that of another religion, it is not acceptable and must be stopped.   If the slaughter houses and meat packing plants are allowing Halal slaughtered meat to be sold unlabeled it is up to us to get this stopped.  I have sent a letter requesting the government rule asking if meat can be Halal and not labeled as such at sale.  I'll let you know when I get a response.

By Pamela Geller Human Events

The latest submission to Islam comes to us from the meat industry in both Europe and the United States. Recently I have been reporting on the little-noted but explosive new revelations that much of the meat in Europe is being processed as halal and sold without the halal label. This is not the exception, but the rule, and the people are being betrayed by their own elected officials. And it's happening here, too.

Yes, folks, if you're in Europe, and in many areas in America as well, the meat you are eating is probably halal, unless you're keeping josher. In a little-known strike against freedom, yet again, we are being forced into consuming meat slaughtered by means of a barbaric, torturous and inhuman method: Islamic slaughter.

Where are the PETA clowns and the ridiculous celebs who pose naked on giant billboards for PETA and "animal rights"? They would rather see people die of cancer or AIDS than see animals used in drug testing, but torturous and painful Islamic slaughter is OK.

Many people have written to me saying that they simply won't eat halal meat, as they object to the methods used to slaughter the animal. And I agree. The Sharia term for halal slaughter is dhakat. Dhakat is to slaughter an animal by cutting the trachea, the esophagus, and the jugular vein, letting the blood drain out while saying "Bismillah allahu akbar"—in the name of Allah the greatest.

Many Christians, Hindus or Sikhs and Jews find it offensive to eat meat slaughtered according to Islamic ritual (although Jews are less likely to be exposed to such meat, because they eat kosher). The issue for many Christians is that in halal slaughter, an imam offers the animal up as a sacrifice to Allah which makes it meat sacrificed to idols.

70% of New Zealand lamb imported into the United Kingdom is halal. It is not labeled as such, so people are eating halal without even knowing it. But people there are fighting back: When halal food was imposed on public schools in the United Kingdom in 2007, parents were in an uproar. And last March, Stop Islamization of Europe (SIOE), the sister organization to my group Stop Islamization of America (SIOA), called for the cessation of mandatory consumption of halal meat on the continent.

As halal slaughter becomes more common in the U.S., the likelihood of non-Muslims who object to halal meat for whatever reason unknowingly buying it also increases.

I wanted to know if this Islamic supremacism in being imposed on U.S. meat processors as well. Imagine my surprise at many of the findings. After asking lots of questions of people inside the meat-packing industry, I discovered that only two plants in the U.S. that perform halal slaughter keep the halal meat separated from the non-halal meat, and they only do so because plant managers thought it was right to do so. At other meat-packing plants, animals are slaughtered following halal requirements, but then only a small bit of the meat is actually labeled halal.

This is because neither the United States nor Britain requires that halal meat be labeled as such. Nor do government regulations require that halal meat and non-halal meat be kept separate.

Yet there are existing labeling laws requiring that meat be labeled in a truthful and not misleading way. These labeling laws could be and should be used to make sure that all halal meat is clearly sold as such, so that those who want to avoid it for whatever reason can do so.

But the way it looks right now, most of the beef sold in the United States comes from meat-packing plants that engage in at least some halal slaughter—and don't always tell the public that they've slaughtered the animal according to halal rules. There's no easy way to tell exactly how much of this is occurring, but I am still investigating.

One thing appears clear now: some of this halal meat is going to public school lunch programs.

Why are meat-packing plants in the U.S. and Great Britain engaging in any halal slaughter at all? Because they export a great deal of meat to Muslim countries. That's fine. But non-Muslims in America and Europe don't deserve to have halal meat forced upon them in this way, without their knowledge or consent.

It's Islamic supremacism on the march, yet again.

Obama Pushes Tax Hikes In Weekly Internet Address; Bashes Republicans For Favoring Lower Taxes

Barack Obama urged democrats in Congress to increase taxes on companies in his weekly address.
It sounds like just the thing we need.
The AP reported:

End tax breaks that reward some U.S. companies with overseas subsidiaries and encourage those businesses to create jobs in other countries, President Barack Obama is telling Congress.

Yet it's an idea that has raised concerns even among some lawmakers in the president's own party.

At issue is a bill, now stalled in the Senate, that would do away with some tax credits and deferrals for U.S. companies for operations abroad.

"There is no reason why our tax code should actively reward them for creating jobs overseas," Obama said in his weekly radio and Internet address Saturday. "Instead, we should be using our tax dollars to reward companies that create jobs and businesses within our borders."

Though Obama singled out Republican opposition, the bill also failed to get support from some Democrats, including the chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, Sen. Max Baucus, D-Mont. He has expressed concern that the change would put the U.S. at a competitive disadvantage.

The president also attacked Republicans for favoring lower taxes on businesses.

Home Depot Co-Founder Lectures Obama on Economics

Today might be a good day to stop by your local Home Depot home-improvement center.

The co-founder of the giant chain lectured Obama on his failed economic policies and anti-business rhetoric.
Ken Langone gives the socialist an earful.
The Wall Street Journal reported:

For more than two years the country has listened to your sharp rhetoric about how American businesses are short-changing workers, fleecing customers, cheating borrowers, and generally "driving the economy into a ditch," to borrow your oft-repeated phrase.

My question to you was why, during a time when investment and dynamism are so critical to our country, was it necessary to vilify the very people who deliver that growth? Instead of offering a straight answer, you informed me that I was part of a "reckless" group that had made "bad decisions" and now required your guidance, if only I'd stop "resisting" it.

I'm sure that kind of argument draws cheers from the partisan faithful. But to my ears it sounded patronizing. Of course, one of the chief conceits of centralized economic planning is that the planners know better than everybody else…

…Your insistence that your policies are necessary and beneficial to business is utterly at odds with what you and your administration are saying elsewhere. You pick a fight with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, accusing it of using foreign money to influence congressional elections, something the chamber adamantly denies. Your U.S. attorney in New York, Preet Bahrara, compares investment firms to Mexican drug cartels and says he wants the power to wiretap Wall Street when he sees fit. And you drew guffaws of approving laughter with your car-wreck metaphor, recently telling a crowd that those who differ with your approach are "standing up on the road, sipping a Slurpee" while you are "shoving" and "sweating" to fix the broken-down jalopy of state.

A little more than 30 years ago, Bernie Marcus, Arthur Blank, Pat Farrah and I got together and founded The Home Depot. Our dream was to create (memo to DNC activists: that's build, not take or coerce) a new kind of home-improvement center catering to do-it-yourselfers. The concept was to have a wide assortment, a high level of service, and the lowest pricing possible.

We opened the front door in 1979, also a time of severe economic slowdown. Yet today, Home Depot is staffed by more than 325,000 dedicated, well-trained, and highly motivated people offering outstanding service and knowledge to millions of consumers.

If we tried to start Home Depot today, under the kind of onerous regulatory controls that you have advocated, it's a stone cold certainty that our business would never get off the ground, much less thrive. Rules against providing stock options would have prevented us from incentivizing worthy employees in the start-up phase—never mind the incredibly high cost of regulatory compliance overall and mandatory health insurance. Still worse are the ever-rapacious trial lawyers…

Today Obama told Americans that he wants to raise taxes on businesses.

Too funny: Obama preaches how to create jobs in weekly adress

This guy has a real sense of humor.  He's like the baseball player with a .080 career batting average that steps up to the coach in the bottom of the 9th inning, two outs, bases loaded, and his team down by 3 runs – "Coach, put me in!  I can do this!"

"But for years, our tax code has actually given billions of dollars in tax breaks that encourage companies to create jobs and profits in other countries," said Obama. "I want to close those tax loopholes."

The president pushed his proposal to make the research and experimentation tax cut permanent and allow tax breaks for businesses on capital spending — allowing companies to write off all of their investment costs through next year.

Blah, blah, blah …

Oh, what a shame! Blasts hit secret Iranian missile launching-pad for US, Israeli targets

Funny how these things happen.  Wonder why it happened.

Iranian military installation was struck by a triple blast Tues. Oct. 12 the day before Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad arrived in Lebanon. DEBKAfile's military and intelligence sources report the site held most of the Shehab-3 medium-range missile launchers Iran had stocked for striking US forces in Iraq and Israel in the event of war – some set to deliver triple warheads (tri-conic nosecones).

The 18 soldiers officially reported killed in the blasts and 14 injured belonged to the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) main missile arm, the Al-Hadid Brigades.
The Imam Ali Base where the explosion occurred is situated in lofty Zagros mountain country near the town of Khorramabad in the western Iranian province of Lorestan. This site was selected for an altitude which eases precise targeting and the difficulty of reaching it for air or ground attack. It lies 400 kilometers from Baghdad and primary American bases in central Iraq and 1,250 kilometers from Tel Aviv and central Israel. Both are well within the Shehab-3 missile's 1,800-2,500-kilometer operational range.

In its official statement on the incident, Tehran denied it was the result of "a terrorist attack" and claimed the explosion "was caused by a nearby fire that spread to the munitions storage area of the base." In the same way, the regime went to great lengths to cover up the ravages wrought to their nuclear and military control systems by the Stuxnet virus – which is still at work.

Everything's a "terrorist attack" to these people.  Iran is having trouble controlling their military aims.  I suspect influences both inside and outside Iran.

Obama toys with idea of giving seniors SSI money – enough to buy a pair of earrings

Hey Linebacker, you see what your husband is proposing?

President Obama is calling for a $250 rebate for seniors after the Social Security Administration announced Friday that interest rates in 2010 haven't risen enough to justify an increase in benefits next year to the 58 million retirees and disabled Americans who receive the entitlement.

Wow.  Just, um, generous.  Still waiting for Michelle's take on it.

Union Bosses Are Funneling Millions to Democrats to Keep Money Flowing To Them

Last year, for the first time ever, the number of public-sector union members exceeded private-sector union members.  As it has been estimated (conservatively) that private-sector union members (most of them under the threat of losing their jobs) shell out  $13-$15 billion annually in union dues, given the growth in public-sector unions, the union industry easily rakes in in excess of $26 billion or more per year in union dues alone.  As a result, union bosses have a vested interest in electing politicians who will help them maintain or expand their revenues.

In 2010, after finally having gotten control of two branches of the federal government and on the cusp of finally ending America's free enterprise system, union bosses are spending hundreds of millions to save as many of their political puppets as possible. Consider this:

In 1996, Rutgers economics professor Leo Troy estimated that union political expenditures totaled about $500 million in each election cycle. More recently, the National Institute for Labor Relations Research estimated that total union political expenditures reached $925 million in the 2004 cycle. Over time, this has added up: According to The Center for Responsive Politics, eight of the top ten all-time political contributors are labor unions.

Is it little wonder, then, that the White House is trying to falsely accuse the U.S. Chamber of Commerce of the very thing the Democrats are doing [taking money from foreign nationals]? They see opposition as a threat to not only their livelihoods, but also their vision of America.

With the weight of an estimated $3 trillion in underfunded pension funds in the public-sector, as well as the $165 billion underfunded private-sector plans, union bosses know three things: 1) their system is about to blow up in their faces by likely bankrupting certain states and municipalities, 2) they need to change the system which, to them means a nationalized retirement plan for all Americans, and 3) they must do everything possible to retain as many Democrat seats as possible so that they may live on to fight another day. But, they're not going down without a fight:

The Service Employees International Union is dispatching members to town hall meetings to defend pensions. They hand out literature arguing that 7 out of 10 retired public employees receive less than $30,000 a year in pension benefits. The American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees is calling politicians "deadbeats" for trying to walk away from promised pensions. "This is deferred compensation that is owed to workers," says Steven Kreisberg, director of collective bargaining for AFSCME, which has 1.6 million members. "Some of the politicians demagoguing on this issue are losing sight of their moral and legal responsibility."

On Friday, the Wall Street Journal reported:

The National Education Association, the largest U.S. teachers union, has independently spent more than $3.4 million that must be disclosed, including ad buys and direct-mail campaigns, for the key electioneering period from Sept. 1 to Oct. 14. The NEA spent $444,000 during the same stretch in 2006.

The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees has nearly matched its 2006 midterm outlays. It has spent $2.1 million on electioneering since the beginning of last month, according to FEC filings for two campaign committees associated with the union. That is just shy of the $2.2 million spent for that period in 2006.

[snip]

The American Federation of Teachers, the country's other big teachers union, also has stepped up its outlays. The group had spent about $5.5 million this cycle as of the end of August, according to the FEC. The AFT's total for the same period during 2006 was $4.5 million.

Remember, this is only the money that must be disclosed.

As Brandon Griefe of the CRNC wrote here on RedState:

Public sector unions have been an incredible lobbying force, working from the inside out to push for more lavish pension packages for government workers. One of the biggest public sector unions is the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) have openly declared that they have the power to determine elections. The AFSCME was the biggest election spender between 1989 and 2004. They spent over $40 million in federal elections, with an astounding 98.5% going to Democrats. Victor Gotbaum, former lead of AFSCME District Council 37, once declared "we have the ability, in a sense, to elect our own boss." Any efforts measures to curb growth are immediately met with hostility. The California Teachers Association spent $57m to stop a referendum to limit government growth and to reduce union power.

With slightly more than two weeks left before November 2nd, union bosses and their bought-and-paid for Democratic party will be unleashing a barrage of phony and misleading ads against Republican candidates across the country.  The reason is simple, they must destroy whatever obstacles remain in their path to achieving their ultimate goals.

They were within inches and they will spend whatever it takes to blunt the trauma of November 2nd, but they can be pushed back.

Now, go and get out the vote.

Congressman Maurice Hinchey Commits Assault and Battery On Reporter

Meet Maurice Hinchey (D-NY22), subject of prior posts here, who attempted to evade questions from a local reporter about Hinchey's interest in a property for which Hinchey secured federal development money.

Hinchey repeatedly said "what are you talking about" when he knew full well what the reporter was talking about, and then told the reporter to "shut up":

When this conversation was over, Hinchey pursued the reporter and initiated a physical altercation by repeatedly pushing his finger into the reporter's chest.  As reported by the Capitol Tonight website:
After the shooters turned off their cameras and started to break down, Hinchey made a beeline for [reporter] Kemble and got in his face, according to a YNN videographer who was on the scene. The congressman poked Kemble in the chest aggressively, according to the YNN staffer.

I spoke with Kemble briefly this afternoon, and he told me Hinchey "put his hand on my throat" and then "realized what he had done and walked away." The YNN shooter told me he did not witness this part of the altercation.
This was Hinchey's Bob Etheridge moment.

This video and news report should go viral.  Hinchey epitomizes the arrogance of entrenched Washington, D.C., politicians, who feel that they have the right to physically assault reporters in a public place asking legitimate political questions.

Hinchey is feeling political pressure for the first time in memory, and clearly it is getting to him.  Former New York City Mayor Ed Koch has endorsed Hinchey's opponent, George Phillips, and outside groups have started running ads attacking Hinchey's ultra-liberal voting record and wacky antics (such as pushing for impeachment of George Bush just a few months before the end of Bush's second term).

The reporter should file a criminal complaint against Hinchey for assault and battery, to show that Hinchey is not above the law.

You can support George Phillips here.  I already have.

Obama's Race Taunts Unsuited to the Presidency, Says Project 21 Chairman

Washington, D.C. – Mychal Massie, chairman of the Project 21 black leadership network, says President Obama's recent playing of the race card is inappropriate for a President and for someone who has publicly professed a desire for a post-racial America.

"Obama's comments further calcify his commonality, lack of couth, lack of propriety and unworthiness to be president," said Project 21′s Massie. "Never in the history of this nation has there been a president who so perfectly lacked even the most basic qualifications and social skills pursuant to the office he holds."

During a speech in Philadelphia on October 10, Obama played the race card by suggesting that conservatives want to disfranchise black voters and others by suppressing their interest in voting. Obama said: "They're counting on young people staying home and union members staying home and black folks staying home."

Obama also recently accused the U.S. Chamber of Commerce of using money from foreign donors to finance domestic campaign ads. White House staff will not provide proof to validate this claim, which originated in a blog post from the campaign wing of the far-left Center for American Progress. Experts in campaign finance are critical of the President's blog-based assertion.

Massie added: "During his own presidential campaign, Obama frequently spoke of how George W. Bush had brought shame on the nation. Is it now Obama's opinion that his cheap and inflammatory rhetoric, obviously intended to incite racial discord, brings honor to our nation?"

Project 21, a leading voice of black conservatives since 1992, is sponsored by the National Center for Public Policy Research (http://www.nationalcenter.org).

UN tries to claim US owes them $1.2 BILLION dollars

RWB News: Obama has stated that he paid all of the UN dues and fees due.  The Administration is claiming that the UN is going back and arguing about contested monies that they feel are due, regardless of how it was settled at the time.  Their budget is in shambles, and they are trying to get it from the US?   WHERE does Obama think he's getting the $1.2 billion the UN is trying to shake us down for?

What is the UN going to threaten us with?  Not allowing us a seat on the Security Council like they did to Canada for supporting Israel?  Human rights violations?  Oh, wait…Obama and Hillary already turned us in for that.

AP @ Breitbart

The United Nations is owed 4.1 billion dollars by member nations with the United States accounting for more than a quarter of the figure, a top UN official said Thursday.

The global economic crisis has caused the new financial troubles at the world body, Under Secretary General for Management Angela Kane told reporters.

"It has been a difficult year in many ways for many member states because of the economic recession," she said. "They have to tighten their belts."

Kane said the United States was the biggest non-payer, while Chile, Iran, Mexico, Venezuela accounted for nine percent of the arrears between them and another 68 countries made up three percent of the missing money.

Only 13 countries out of the 192 UN members have paid all contributions to all the different UN functions, Kane explained. Some 119 have paid their share of the UN's regular annual budget however.

The UN peacekeeping operation was short of 3.2 billion dollars in contributions and the regular budget was down 787 million dollars. UN courts and a fund to pay for the renovation of the UN headquarters in New York was also short of contributions.

The UN money shortfall has risen to 4.1 billion dollars from 2.24 billion at the end of 2009, she said.

According to Kane, the United States total arrears of 1.2 billion included 691 million dollars to the regular budget and 431 million dollars to the giant peacekeeping division.

Susan Rice, the US ambassador, said that since President Barack Obama came to office in January, 2009, the United States has "paid our dues in full and on time. We continue to do so. We have also paid substantial prior arrears."

But she said there are differences with the United States over past debts. "These are so-called contested arrears which have been a subject of difference since the 1990s and before.

"They must be counting contested arrears if it gets to a figure which gets close to anything like that," she said of the 1.2 billion dollar claim.

Kane named the countries who have paid all their dues as Australia, Azerbaijan, Democratic Republic of Congo, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Lichtenstein, Monaco, Netherlands, Singapore, South Africa, Switzerland and Tanzania.
