Communist: "Progressive Caucus... Will Now Have a More Prominent Role Within... Democratic Caucus"

A few extracts from a report 2010 Election Results: Time to Organize! by Communist Party USA Political Action Commission chair Joelle Fishman.

Emphasis added;
The struggle for the direction of our country and for jobs and relief in this economic crisis, for equality, democracy and peace, is dramatically escalated by the 2010 election results.
This was a hard fought campaign within the long-term struggle to defeat the right wing. While there were some significant victories, overall it is a big setback.
Lenin observed that no strike is lost, because workers learn from the experience and become stronger.
Similar could be said about this year's election...
The Progressive Caucus, which lost only three members out of 80, will now have a more prominent role within the smaller minority Democratic caucus. Co-chair Raul Grijalva of Arizona, who was among those targeted by the right-wing because of his stands for immigration reform, defeated his tea party opponent with an outpouring of support from labor, peace and immigrant rights groups...
Of the 25 Congressional candidates endorsed by the Peace Action PAC, 16 won election, strengthening the possibilities to challenge the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and bloated military spending...
On January 3, 2011 the 112th Congress will be sworn in. The new political landscape will demand a lot of street heat and unity and tactics to enlarge the coalition and keep the Republicans in check...
Our long-term strategy for a broad all peoples front, and within that to build the independent strength of labor and allies, remains an essential concept in the face of tea party Republican extreme reactionary policies...
Our Party was in the thick of the battle of 2010. We contributed and we learned a lot. We have found an openness to our ideas and our participation. We have deepened our relationships with other organizations and activists.
The communists are down, but far from out. They will work with their allies in the Congressional Progressive Caucus, to fight the Republicans in Congress and with their friends in the labor movement and the "people's movement" to battle their opponents with "street heat" - intimidation and possibly violence.

It could be a turbulent two years in Congress and on the streets of America.

35,000 Naked Scanner Images Found Stored at Florida Courthouse

Big Sis promised the naked scanner images would not be stored…

…Big Sis lied.

Gizmodo reported today that 35,000 naked scanner images were stored in a Florida Courthouse.

At the heart of the controversy over "body scanners" is a promise: The images of our naked bodies will never be public. U.S. Marshals in a Florida Federal courthouse saved 35,000 images on their scanner. These are those images.

A Gizmodo investigation has revealed 100 of the photographs saved by the Gen 2 millimeter wave scanner from Brijot Imaging Systems, Inc., obtained by a FOIA request after it was recently revealed that U.S. Marshals operating the machine in the Orlando, Florida courthouse had improperly-perhaps illegally-saved images of the scans of public servants and private citizens.

Cheney Mocks Obama‘s ’Shovel Ready Project’ at Bush Library Groundbreaking

CBS News:

At groundbreaking ceremony in Dallas for the George W. Bush Presidential Center today, former Vice President Dick Cheney said "history is beginning to come around" to a more positive view of former President George W. Bush.

Cheney said that Mr. Bush, whose approval rating upon leaving office was just 22 percent, always understood that "judgments are a little more measured" with the passage of time. He added that Americans "can tell a decent, goodhearted stand up guy when they see him."

Cheney, who (unlike Mr. Bush) has been a vocal critic of President Obama, also took a shot at the current administration. Speaking of his expectation that construction would move quickly on the presidential center following the groundbreaking, Cheney quipped that "this may be the only shovel ready project in America." The reference was to the Obama-supported stimulus package that Republicans have criticized as ineffective.

Shocker… Far Left DOJ Crackpot Was Behind Christie Hit Piece

Sent to you by Jay via Google Reader:

via The Gateway Pundit by Jim Hoft on 11/16/10

What a shock. The person behind the Department of Justice Chris Christie hit piece is a radical far left activist with a troubled work history.
The Daily Caller reported:

The Daily Caller has learned that the author behind the recent report from the Department of Justice that targeted five former U.S. attorneys for excessive travel expenses has had, according to our sources, a troubled history in the DOJ and attempted in the past to use her position to smear conservatives…

…Tom Fitton, the president of DOJ watchdog organization Judicial Watch, agreed with that sentiment, telling TheDC that his first instinct was that the report was nothing more than a hit job from an "ideological and hostile Justice Department that leaked the report."

New information obtained by TheDC shows that that narrative may be true.

The report's author, Maura Lee, began her DOJ career in the civil rights division, but now works in the DOJ Office of Inspector General. Hans von Spakovsky, former counsel to the assistant attorney general for civil rights, supervised Lee and told TheDC that he was "astonished" when he found out she was the author of the report.

According to von Spakovsky, Lee was "one of the most belligerent, unprofessional lawyers" he encountered during his time at the DOJ. "Because of her," he said, "we had to completely change our security protocol."

Another former senior DOJ official who asked not to be named confirmed Lee's involvement in strategizing to leak information to the Washington Post, saying that she was not a trustworthy person and had major political motivations.

Von Spakovsky described one case where Lee was caught breaking into the e-mail of a colleague, Joshua Rogers, specifically because Rogers was conservative and Christian. "Lee was radically left. She made it plain that she didn't like Rogers," von Spakovsky said.

He went on to call Lee's efforts at DOJ a "major security breach."

Calif. Woman Charged With Aiding Al-Qaeda Terrorist Group

SAN DIEGO (AP) — A California woman has been charged with providing money and personnel to a terrorist group in Somalia to help carry out killings in the African nation, according to a federal indictment obtained Monday.

Nima Ali Yusuf supported al-Shabab, an al-Qaeda-linked militia trying to create an Islamic state in Somalia, federal prosecutor Sabrina Feve said.

Yusuf was the fourth person charged in the past month in San Diego with helping al-Shabab. Authorities described her as a lawful permanent resident of the U.S.

She was arrested Friday in San Diego and appeared in federal court Monday.

Yusuf was charged in the indictment with conspiracy to provide material support to terrorists, conspiracy to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization and making a false statement to a government

The others charged in San Diego were accused of raising money then routing the funds to the radical Islamist group.

Federal prosecutors did not provide further details on the allegations.

Since 2007, roughly 20 men have left Minnesota to fight with al-Shabab. It wasn't immediately clear from the indictment whether Yusuf was connected to those men.

Yusuf also was charged with making a false statement to an FBI agent and Customs and Border Protection officer when she allegedly denied sending money to anyone in Somalia in the past year.

Three other people were indicted in St. Louis and Minnesota this month for also allegedly supporting the radical Islamist group.

Unreal… Angry Liberals Tell Obama: “Stop Caving on Agenda”

via The Gateway Pundit by Jim Hoft on 11/16/10

You've gotta love this…
Angry liberals are telling the most radical president in history, the most pro-abortion president in history, the biggest spender in history, the most anti-Israel president in history that he needs to stop caving to Republicans.
Are these crackpots serious?
The Hill reported:

Liberals furious with a White House they view as constantly telegraphing compromise with Republicans are pressuring President Obama to get tougher, arguing that is the only way he will win both progressives and independents in 2012.

Adam Green, co-founder of the Progressive Change Campaign Committee (PCCC) and an outspoken critic of the White House, said liberal anger has less to do with fears of a Clintonian move to the middle by Obama and more with a misreading of the election results by the administration.

"It's less 'Oh no, they're triangulating,' and more 'Boy, their political instincts are really stupid,' " said Green, who along with other liberals has blasted the White House for suggesting it would compromise with Republicans on expiring tax cuts.

The White House "fundamentally" doesn't get that "the only way to get Republicans to deal in good faith is to fight them, crush them and teach a lesson that if Republicans are on the wrong side of an issue there will be consequences … so it makes sense to negotiate," Green said.

"Right now, every time Republicans are on the opposite side of an issue from the public, it's the Democrats who cave and talk about 'compromise.' It's ridiculous."

They're insane.

TSA OPENS INVESTIGATION – Groin Check Resister May Face $10,000 Fine (Video)

TSA resister John Tyner may face a $10,000 fine for not letting agents perform a groin check on him at the airport.

The Transportation Security Administration has opened investigation on the groin check resister who would not allow TSA agents to grope him this past weekend.
Signs on San Diego reported:

The Transportation Security Administration has opened an investigation targeting John Tyner, the Oceanside man who left Lindbergh Field under duress on Saturday morning after refusing to undertake a full body scan.

Tyner recorded the half-hour long encounter on his cell phone and later posted it to his personal blog, along with an extensive account of the incident. The blog went viral, attracting hundreds of thousands of readers and thousands of comments.

Michael J. Aguilar, chief of the TSA office in San Diego, called a news conference at the airport Monday afternoon to announce the probe. He said the investigation could lead to prosecution and civil penalties of up to $11,000.

TSA agents had told Tyner on Saturday that he could be fined up to $10,000.

"That's the old fine," Aguilar said. "It has been increased."

It's worse than we thought. Obama's even lost liberal Colin Powell.
What will Rush Limbaugh have to say about this?
Via CNN:

Powell says Obama failed to focus on what's important.
CNN reported:

While saying he talks regularly with President Obama and his administration's officials, former Secretary of State Colin Powell said Monday that the nation's 44th president has overreached and lost focus in his first term — and lost votes because of it.

Powell, a self-described moderate Republican who served as a top military, national security and diplomatic official under presidents ranging from Ronald Reagan to George W. Bush, said he did not regret backing the then-Illinois senator over Republican Sen. John McCain during the 2008 election campaign.

But he said that Democrats suffered "a real body blow" in the recent midterm elections — when the party lost seats in the Senate and control of the House — in large part because Obama didn't prioritize or communicate effectively enough.

"He should have focused on the economy … to the exclusion of most everything else domestically," Powell told CNN's Larry King. "When you're starting out as a president, you have to figure out (what) is most important."

Yet, Powell does not regret endorsing this socialist.
That's really sad.

FCC Threatens Price Controls for Wireless Spectrum

Sent to you by Jay via Google Reader:

via RedState by RedState Insider (Profile) on 11/15/10

Did the FCC miss the recent election? The Obama administration appears to have at least noticed the "jobs and the economy" memo voters sent, but the FCC is about to step on the White House's message.

This week it was leaked to Politico that the FCC is considering even more regulations - this time, to oversee "data roaming" agreements that give wireless companies access to each other's networks. The FCC is now apparently moving to create regulations that would abandon today's market-based negotiations, have the government step in, and tell certain small wireless companies that it is ok to "stop building out new facilities to serve customers, instead you can go ahead and piggy-back off of somebody else's network." What this means is that even in parts of the country where companies own spectrum and have FCC licenses to serve wireless customers, they won't have to invest or spend a dime to build out networks because they can just hoard their own spectrum and free ride off of a larger company's network through forced government access policies. To add insult to injury, we understand that the FCC is also considering new regulations that would involve government oversight into the rates larger wireless companies charge to use their own data networks.

This is a really strange thing to do, considering how often the FCC has talked about the "spectrum crunch" and how "demand for spectrum would outpace supply". Chairman Genachowski has said the "two pillars" of the National Broadband Plan were "making more spectrum available" and "using the market and technology to ensure more efficient and effective use of our spectrum. We are moving aggressively on both fronts."

How is it efficient to have government forced access that allows free riders not to invest and develop scarce spectrum resources that could be used to provide more wireless services?

If the FCC is "moving aggressively", they are moving backwards. We desperately need to develop unused spectrum and build new infrastructure (jobs!), but the FCC would rather go with price controls and "sharing"?

This is the "from each according to his investment, to each according to his lobbying" theory of economic growth.

The voters spoke loud and clear, but the FCC isn't listening.
