Juan Williams Wasn't Fired For Muslim Comments, He Was Fired Because He Appears On FOX
Williams' presence on the largely conservative and often contentious prime-time talk shows of Fox News has long been a sore point with NPR News executives. Most probably, NPR had a partner in the decision. This was the opening shot of the White House's escalation of its war on Fox News. Its intent was to send shivers down the spine of any journalist or news network that cooperates with Fox News
Williams is one of the regular liberal voices on the O'Reilly Factor (as well as other Fox Programs). On Monday's show Juan said:

Obama’s ‘Hispanic Education Excellence’ Executive Order is four times warmed-over tripe
President Obama has shifted into full-time campaign mode in a miserable effort to mitigate the inevitable recrimination following the November Punishment. Most of his effort has been typical democrat playbook: Preach to the choir in hopes they'll sing on cue; how embarrassing for both pulpit and pit. Yet he did take one action: Executive Order 13555 of October 19, 2010, entitled "White House Initiative On Educational Excellence For Hispanics." Before Hispanics rejoice, they need to look over their collective shoulder to EO 13230 (W, 2001), EO 12900 (Clinton, 1994), and EO 12729 (Geo. the Elder, 1990). At least the previous presidents had the integrity to throw resources at the issue at a time further removed from an election. Do you like being used?
Obama's EO reads, in part: The mission of the Initiative shall be to help restore the United States to its role as the global leader in education and to strengthen the Nation by expanding educational opportunities and improving educational outcomes for Hispanics of all ages and by helping to ensure that all Hispanics receive a complete and competitive education that prepares them for college, a career, and productive and satisfying lives.
A "satisfying life"? The White House, generally, and Obama, specifically, can make someone's life "satisfying"? "Satisfaction" is defined or predicated or not possible without government intervention? Yeow! Alright, let's set that aside.
What Obama wants is to improve "educational opportunities" and "educational outcomes." That's the substance.
President W: (a) efforts to increase participation of Hispanic Americans in Federal education programs and services; … (d) the measurable impact resulting from these efforts and levels of participation.
Opportunities. Outcomes. Yeah, (b) and (c) wanted to do more, as well.
President Clinton: to strengthen the Nation's capacity to provide high-quality education, and to increase opportunities for Hispanic Americans to participate in and benefit from Federal education programs
Opportunities. Outcomes.
President Geo. the Elder: to strengthen the capacity to provide quality education, and to increase opportunities for Hispanic Americans to participate in and benefit from Federal programs
Opportunities. Outcomes. Yeah, Clinton plagiarized, but that was the least of his crimes.
So tell me, Hispanics, will you see the opportunistic game being played by Obama? The historical pattern – the utter lack of new ideas – is appalling to me – is it to you?

In 10 dem-held House districts, 71% say Obama brought no or bad change
Can't be good for the Obamanauts. Overwhelming majority in 10 districts say Obama brought no change or change for the worse:
In 10 competitive House districts, 41 percent of likely voters say Obama has brought change for the worse, and 30 percent say he has made no difference.
Even worse for the lad:
Strikingly, 63 percent of voters under the age of 34 said the president either has not changed Washington or has made it worse.
Without change, how can one have hope? Smirk …

Book: Clinton Lost Nuclear Codes
When you're President of the United States, you can lose a vote, you can lose popular support, and you can lose a round of golf. But you're never, ever supposed to lose the biscuit.
That's what they call the card the president is meant to keep close at hand, bearing the codes that he has to have in order to launch a nuclear attack. And for several months during the Clinton administration, a former top military officer says they lost the biscuit.
Gen. Hugh Shelton, who served under Clinton as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, tells the story in his just-published memoir, "Without Hesitation: The Odyssey of an American Warrior."
"At one point during the Clinton administration," Shelton writes, "the codes were actually missing for months. [...] That's a big deal -- a gargantuan deal."
Shelton claims the story has never been released before, but Ret. Air Force Lt. Col Robert Patterson told a very similar account in his own book, published seven years ago. Read more...

Figures. Obama Administration Takes Credit For Bush Era Wind Farm Jobs
Figures. The Obama Administration is taking credit for Bush era wind farm jobs.
MSNBC reported:
The Obama administration is crediting its anti-recession stimulus plan with creating up to 50,000 jobs on dozens of wind farms, even though many of those wind farms were built before the stimulus money began to flow or even before President Barack Obama was inaugurated.
Out of 70 major wind farms that received the $4.4 billion in federal energy grants through the stimulus program, public records show that 11, which received a total of $600 million, erected their wind towers during the Bush administration. And a total of 19 wind farms, which received $1.3 billion, were built before any of the stimulus money was distributed. ( See a list of the projects here.)
Yet all the jobs at these wind farms are counted in the administration's figures for jobs created by the stimulus.
What a complete waste of money.
Let's face it. There would be no wind farm businesses without government assistance. We're talking about at least $5 billion dumped into this industry. That's insane.

Michigan Unemployment Rate Drops Slightly To 13% Because Unemployed Gave Up Looking For Work Or Left
Let's just look at those numbers. Employment increased by 4,000 but unemployment decreased by far more - 9,000. What happened to the other 5,000 people that neither got one of those 4,000 jobs nor are unemployed? Only 1 of 2 things are possible here: 1) they exhausted their unemployment benefits and dropped off the roles, or 2) they moved out of state. The former is more likely than the latter meaning the jobless problem is getting worse in the state, not better. The way the government handles unemployment numbers makes Enron look honest. Would have been nice for the News to flesh that out just a tad, no?Michigan's official unemployment rate dipped again last month, edging down by one-tenth of a point to 13 percent for September.
Message to Granholm - your sh!$'s not working!
According to data released today by the Michigan Department of Energy, Labor & Economic Growth, unemployment declined slightly by 9,000 in September, while total employment increased by 4,000.

PETER SUDERMAN: “The Obama administration is playing a game of opposite limbo with the federal budg
PETER SUDERMAN: "The Obama administration is playing a game of opposite limbo with the federal budget: When it comes to deficit spending, its operative question seems to be 'How high can you go?'"
Well, you can go pretty far, until you become Britain. "Chancellor George Osborne has unveiled the biggest UK spending cuts for decades, with welfare, councils and police budgets all hit. The pension age will rise sooner than expected, some incapacity benefits will be time limited and other money clawed back through changes to tax credits and housing benefit."
Why? Because socialism has left them broke. Ace says that this is our future, unless we wind up with riots like France, too. Well, it certainly is if greedy pols continue their loot-the-treasury policies. We'll see if November's elections put the brakes on that.
As Tea-Partier Moe Tucker says: "No country can provide all things for all citizens. There comes a point where it just isn't possible, and it's proven to be a failure everywhere it's been tried."
Right on, Moe.
