The information is there, but you have to read between the lines because the MSM won't report the cause outright. Take this piece from The Detroit News: State jobless rate edges down again
Let's just look at those numbers. Employment increased by 4,000 but unemployment decreased by far more - 9,000. What happened to the other 5,000 people that neither got one of those 4,000 jobs nor are unemployed? Only 1 of 2 things are possible here: 1) they exhausted their unemployment benefits and dropped off the roles, or 2) they moved out of state. The former is more likely than the latter meaning the jobless problem is getting worse in the state, not better. The way the government handles unemployment numbers makes Enron look honest. Would have been nice for the News to flesh that out just a tad, no?Michigan's official unemployment rate dipped again last month, edging down by one-tenth of a point to 13 percent for September.
Message to Granholm - your sh!$'s not working!
According to data released today by the Michigan Department of Energy, Labor & Economic Growth, unemployment declined slightly by 9,000 in September, while total employment increased by 4,000.
