WRONG AGAIN… Obama Made Israeli-Palestinian Conflict Top Priority While Arab Nations Were Concerned About Iran: "

While Obama Focused on Palestinian Cause the Arab World Was Focused on Iran–

In January 2009 the Obama Adminstration announced that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict would be a top priority from day one.

YNet News reported:

“US President Barack Obama will make progress on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict a key diplomatic priority from day one,” a White House foreign policy statement released Wednesday says,

The Israeli-Palestinian conflict is one of five clauses listed under the heading, “Renewing American diplomacy”. The clause says Obama and his vice president, Joe Biden, “will make a sustained push – working with Israelis and Palestinians – to achieve the goal of two states, a Jewish state in Israel and a Palestinian state, living side by side in peace and security.”

The most radical far left president in American history believed the Israeli-Palestinian conflict was the most pressing issue in the Middle East.

Obama was wrong.

Now we know from the leaked Wikileaks documents that the Arab States were not so much concerned about the Palestinians as they were about the Iranian threat.

The Saudi regime repeatedly told the US to deal with Iran and “cut off the head of the snake.”

The Guardian reported on a leaked memo from a meeting with Saudi officials.

The King, Foreign Minister, Prince Muqrin, and Prince Nayif all agreed that the Kingdom needs to cooperate with the US on resisting and rolling back Iranian influence and subversion in Iraq. The King was particularly adamant on this point, and it was echoed by the senior princes as well. Al-Jubeir recalled the King’s frequent exhortations to the US to attack Iran and so put an end to its nuclear weapons program. “He told you to cut off the head of the snake,” he recalled to the Charge’, adding that working with the US to roll back Iranian influence in Iraq is a strategic priority for the King and his government.

Speigel Online confirmed that the disclosed documents may actually help Israel.

One of the few countries which may stand to benefit from the WikiLeaks revelations appears to be Israel. Countless documents indicate that several countries in the Middle East are much more concerned about Iran obtaining nuclear weapons than they have let on in public. One dispatch reveals that Saudi Arabia had urged the US to “cut off the head of the snake” by attacking Iran, a sentiment shared by other countries in the region. The cables also reveal that North Korea may have provided Iran with missiles capable of reaching targets in Europe.

“These (disclosures) don’t hurt Israel at all — perhaps the opposite,” Giora Eiland, a former national security advisor to ex-prime ministers Ariel Sharon and Ehud Olmert, told Israeli radio according to the Associated Press. “If there is something on the Iranian issue that, in my opinion, happens to help Israel, it is that these leaks show that Arab countries like Saudi Arabia are far more interested in Iran than they are in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.”

Mere Rhetoric added: “Wikileaks – Anti-Israel Foreign Policy Experts Got Saudi Arabia, Other Arab Countries 100% Backward On Iran Attack”
