Republicans won more than 23 legislative chambers last in the historic 2010 election.
GOPAC Chairman Frank Donatelli released this statement this morning.
GOPAC Chairman Frank Donatelli stated:
"Last night, Republicans won more than 23 legislative chambers and counting, many in the large states of Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Indiana. Republicans also won majorities in both houses in the southern states of North Carolina and Alabama and in the New England states of New Hampshire and Maine. We also gained majorities in the West in the Colorado House and Oregon House. Along with new Republican governors, Republicans are poised to begin the fight for lower taxes, fiscal discipline and job growth in many states around the country beginning in January. Our newly elected leaders will begin leading reform efforts in the states next year, fighting against government waste, deficits, high taxes and for stronger economic growth and job creation. They will also lead efforts for new and innovative ways to deliver necessary government services such as education, public safety and health care. Republicans are also in a stronger redistricting position than at any time since the 1960s."State Senate – Republicans Gain Majority Control
