Breaking: Dem Rep’s Wife Pleads Guilty to Racketeering; Faces Up to 6 Months in Prison (Video)

Another crook…
Patrice Tierney, the wife of Rep. John F. Tierney (D-MA) pleaded guilty this morning to four counts of aiding and abetting the filing of false federal tax returns for the years 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008.

Maybe she'll share a cell with Monica Conyers?

The Boston Herald reported:

The wife of Democratic incumbent Congressman John F. Tierney pleaded guilty today to charges she helped cover up her brother's $7 million ownership stake in a Caribbean gambling operation by falsifying his federal tax returns.

With her husband by her side – and former U.S. Attorney Donald K. Stern heading up her defense – custom jewelry designer Patrice Tierney, 59, appeared before U.S. District Court Judge William G. Young and copped to four counts of aiding and abetting the filing of false federal tax returns for the years 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008.

"I take full responsibility for what my part in this was," said a soft-spoken and refined Patrice Tierney. She told the court she is being treated for depression and anxiety.

Prosecuters will recommend that she spend three months on house arrest followed by two years of probation when U.S. District Court Judge William G. Young sentences her on Jan. 13. Young, however, could sentence Patrice Tierney to up to six months in prison.

She's not the only crook…
Monica Conyers, the wife of Rep. John Conyers (D-MI) is serving time at Alderson Federal Prison Camp in West Virginia.
