Morning Bell: Stop Treating Everyone As An Equal Threat

The Associated Press reported yesterday that "cabinet secretaries, top congressional leaders and an exclusive group of senior U.S. officials are exempt from toughened new airport screening procedures when they fly commercially with government-approved federal security details." The article goes on to report that while the rest of the public is still subject to either a body scanner or "an intimate personal pat-down," as of Friday the Transportation Security Administration had exempted pilots from the procedure, and then on Tuesday they added flight attendants to the exemption list.

Americans have every right to be upset about this double standard. But the solution is not ending the exemption for government officials, pilots, and flight attendants. The solution is ending the blanket body scanner requirement altogether. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano says the TSA is taking a "risk-based, layered security approach." But the TSA's continued policy of pat-downs or body scans for all suggests otherwise.

Our nation does still face a real threat from terrorists intent on attacking passenger air travel. But that threat simply does not justify the indiscriminate use of body scanners for primary screening. The TSA should not be targeting all passengers equally. Instead, the TSA should be practicing "focused security" that directs the most resources against the greatest risks. Programs like Secure Flight could be used to allow low-risk passengers about whom a great deal is known to pass through unmolested. Leisure travelers like families traveling together would receive cursory inspection. Then the TSA could focus the lion's share of its resources on high-risk passengers about whom either nothing is known or there is specific negative information.

The best security is intelligence and law enforcement that finds and stops the bad people before they get near the plane. Pretending that everyone is a risk, as the TSA does now, is a weak substitute for intelligence. Most of this physical screening going on now has no place in primary inspection lines. There should be some common-sense screening at the airport, but let's stop pretending that that is the best line of defense. The TSA must back off forcing all travelers to go through body scanners.

Good news: Each $1 in Higher Taxes Results in $1.17 of New Spending

From the Wall Street Journal via taxprof via Instapundit: Higher Taxes Won't Reduce the Deficit

The draft recommendations of the president's commission on deficit reduction call for closing popular tax deductions, higher gas taxes and other revenue raisers to drive tax collections up to 21% of GDP from the historical norm of about 18.5%. Another plan, proposed last week by commission member and former Congressional Budget Office director Alice Rivlin, would impose a 6.5% national sales tax on consumers.

The claim here, echoed by endless purveyors of conventional wisdom in Washington, is that these added revenues—potentially a half-trillion dollars a year—will be used to reduce the $8 trillion to $10 trillion deficits in the coming decade. If history is any guide, however, that won't happen. Instead, Congress will simply spend the money.

In the late 1980s, one of us, Richard Vedder, and Lowell Gallaway of Ohio University co-authored a often-cited research paper for the congressional Joint Economic Committee (known as the $1.58 study) that found that every new dollar of new taxes led to more than one dollar of new spending by Congress. Subsequent revisions of the study over the next decade found similar results.

We've updated the research. Using standard statistical analyses that introduce variables to control for business-cycle fluctuations, wars and inflation, we found that over the entire post World War II era through 2009 each dollar of new tax revenue was associated with $1.17 of new spending. Politicians spend the money as fast as it comes in—and a little bit more.

We also looked at different time periods (e.g., 1947-2009 vs. 1959-2009), different financial data (fiscal year federal budget data, as well as calendar year National Income and Product Account data from the Bureau of Economic Analysis), different lag structures (e.g., relating taxes one year to spending change the following year to allow for the time it takes bureaucracies to spend money), different control variables, etc. The alternative models produce different estimates of the tax-spend relationship—between $1.05 and $1.81. But no matter how we configured the data and no matter what variables we examined, higher tax collections never resulted in less spending.

This is exactly the opposite of what the tax-increase lobby in Washington is preaching today. For example, Erskine Bowles, co-chairman of the president's deficit reduction commission, suggested at a briefing several months ago that there will be $3 of spending cuts for every $1 of tax increases. Sound familiar? Reagan used to complain that he waited his entire presidency for the $3 of spending cuts that Congress promised for every dollar of new taxes he agreed to in 1982. The cuts never came.

We're constantly told by politicos that tax increases must be put "on the table" to get congressional Democrats—who've already approved close to $1 trillion of new spending in violation of their own budget rules over the last two years—to agree to make cuts in the unsustainable entitlement programs like Medicare and Social Security.

Our research indicates this is a sucker play. After the 1990 and 1993 tax increases, federal spending continued to rise. The 1990 tax increase deal was enacted specifically to avoid automatic spending sequestrations that would have been required under the then-prevailing Gramm-Rudman budget rules.

Any new taxes, and there are plenty coming down the pike, go to extra spending measures, not debt reduction. So says the data as explained by Rep. Kevin Brady, (R-Texas):

John Conyers caught on video openly checking out naked women in Playboy on plane to DC

The GOP red wave swept Michigan Republicans into total control. The GOP controls the Michigan executive branch, the House, Senate and Supreme Court (yes we elect our judges and they are accountable to us). As such redistricting Michigan's 15 districts (soon to be 14 because MI has been the butt of national jokes for the last 8 years and because the census showed population loss, but mostly because the census showed population loss). But there are two districts that cannot be touched - districts 13 and 14 in Detroit - because of a part of the Voting Rights Act (which IMO doesn't apply to MI because it was not a slave state. Like ever). As such, those districts - gerrymandered for the black vote - are in firm Democrat hands. How firm? So much so that district 14s Rep - John Conyers - can do as he pleases without worry, including reading porn openly on his flights to DC. Ironically, Conyers is seen here doing more reading than he did with the ObamaCare bill that he voted for (Video of MI Rep. John Conyers: "I'm not going to do my job. The video and pictures – first posted by ex-Detroit News reporter and New York Times Pulitzer Prize winner Charlie LeDuff on his Facebook page – were taken by an anonymous passenger seated two seats from Conyers (see video here). Conyers – in his aisle seat – is shown flipping though pages showing two nude gal pals in the August issue of Playboy. And he also apparently reads Hefner's product for the articles. The pages he lingers on appear to feature an article entitled "La Chatte" by Maureen Gibbon, on article exploring lesbian sex.

Of course, Mr. Conyers is the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, so it is entirely possible he is preparing for a committee hearing on the legal definition of pornography. Or perhaps he is studying new TSA pat-down procedures for female passengers.

John "too many white people on your staff" Conyers (D-Detroit), who by the way was caught using government payroll employees as indentured servants (including driving his kids to the best private school in the area while his constituents kids wallow in the filth of DPS - the worst school district in the nation), was also caught up in his wife's scandal ( House ethics complaint filed against John Conyers, links to Monica). Nothing came of that of course as Pelosi's House is ethically challenged (Charlie Rangel is getting a slap on the wrist for tax evasion after all). In April, Conyers used the "teabagger" slur on openly on the radio, and called the tea party "small and dismissive" to a group of socialists where he was caught on video trumpeting a 1-world government. A few years ago his staff stole 60 turkeys from a charity just before those same turkeys were to be donated to the poor and downtrodden just before Thanksgiving. (The1,000 turkeys donated to help needy families this year ought be under guard looking for his staff)

So all of the above begs the question: WHAT DOES THIS GUY HAVE TO DO TO BE KICKED OUT OF OFFICE? Whatever it is, he's willing and able. Really - he'll try it. Just for kicks as he gets re-elected over and over again.

CHINA AND RUSSIA QUIT THE DOLLAR

Is this the beginning of the End? Is the dollar about to finally collapse?  Not today but maybe tomorrow or the day after. China and Russia have announced they will no longer use the US dollar for bilateral trade and from now on will use their own currency.

Chinese experts said the move reflected closer relations between Beijing and Moscow and is not aimed at challenging the dollar, but to protect their domestic economies.

"About trade settlement, we have decided to use our own currencies," Putin said at a joint news conference with Wen in St. Petersburg.

The two countries were accustomed to using other currencies, especially the dollar, for bilateral trade. Since the financial crisis, however, high-ranking officials on both sides began to explore other possibilities.

The yuan has now started trading against the Russian rouble in the Chinese interbank market, while the renminbi will soon be allowed to trade against the rouble in Russia, Putin said.

"That has forged an important step in bilateral trade and it is a result of the consolidated financial systems of world countries," he said.

China says the move represents concern about the stability if the American Currency.

Sun Zhuangzhi, a senior researcher in Central Asian studies at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, said the new mode of trade settlement between China and Russia follows a global trend after the financial crisis exposed the faults of a dollar-dominated world financial system.

Pang Zhongying, who specializes in international politics at Renmin University of China, said the proposal is not challenging the dollar, but aimed at avoiding the risks the dollar represents.

China has been concerned about the dollar for months, back in February they started to reduce their American holdings:

"The Chinese are worried that we have unsustainable debt levels, and we do not have a policy for dealing with it," Meltzer said.

He said the Chinese worry that confidence in the U.S. government's ability to repay its debt could erode. That would cause the value of Treasurys and the dollar to fall — and lead to losses on Beijing's' U.S. debt holdings.

The Fed's latest quantitative easing move (banker talk for devaluing the a currency) is another factor in the Russian/Chinese move. Creating $600 billion dollars out of nothing and its corresponding damage to the American dollar has been criticized worldwide, making it even more urgent that the Russians and Chinese protect their investments.

Let’s dispense from the beginning with the idea that more “sternly-worded letters,” sanctions, condemnations, or talks (serious this time!) are the answer to North Korea’s dual declarations of war. They have NEVER worked, because when dealing with evil, you must speak to it in the language it understands. Evil only understands violence.

And yes, it’s time for violence.

It gives me no pleasure to say so, but the pattern of history has borne out this truth: there will never be peace so long as only one side is willing to abide by the rules for peace.

The pictures coming from Yeonpeyong, South Korea, are chillingly reminiscent of Pearl Harbor. But did we get the “a date which will live in infamy” speech, which Pres. Roosevelt delivered only 1 day after the December 7, 1941 attack?

Nope.

Here’s what we got from the Eunuch in Chief: “…too soon to discuss ways the U.S. military might deter the reclusive communist state from another strike.”



And from his lapdog Stephen Bosworth: “I would not at all accept that our policy toward North Korea is a failure,” Bosworth said after flying to Seoul to meet South Korean officials. “They are a difficult interlocutor,” he said of the North, “but we’re not throwing our policy away.”



While the North’s uranium program is disappointing and provocative, he told reporters, it isn’t surprising. “This is not a crisis.”



The best lines are from PJ Crowley: “…the Obama administration would take its time to assess the available information. He said the revelation of the new uranium enrichment facility would violate Pyongyang’s obligation to stop pursuing nuclear weapons but also may be what he called a ‘publicity stunt.’”



But my personal favorite came from State Department spokesman Mark Toner, who called North Korea’s actions “very, very bad.”



I guess their answer is to send NoKo to bed without any supper. I did not know this level of denial existed outside of Egypt.





But Obama has a point; I mean, if the sinking of a South Korean navy ship and the killing of 46 South Koreans in March wasn’t enough for us to consider violence against the violent, 200 artillery shells and a lousy 2 deaths certainly won’t qualify.



When I wrote DA PLANE! DA PLANE! When Did We Become Fantasy Island? last week, I was the only one who believed and warned that the LA missile was from North Korea. I don’t deny that China aided and abetted, perhaps even supplied weaponry or the submarine. That’s because China has long told us they would reign in NoKo, but the actions of both countries for over a decade now clearly indicate they were mere words.



I have said it over and over again in past articles: when the sh*t hits the fan, China WILL back, support, and use North Korean aggression to achieve their goals as outlined in their manifesto. Goals which have never, ever changed.



But don’t just believe me. Let’s look at the clues of just the past 8 months that lead any reasonable, NON-psychotic person to that very conclusion. (Hippies, avert your eyes…logic and truth are NOT your friends.)

March 26, 2010 – Sinking of the South Korean Cheonan Cruiser by North Korean torpedoes, 46 South Korean sailors murdered in the unprovoked attack.

August 26, 2010 – Kim Jong-il visits China, supposedly to ask for a do-over on the six party talks. It was his second trip to China in a year, and incidents to follow call into question whether or not the discussion was really that benign.

September 2010 – North Korea makes overtures to South Korea—again—and hurriedly makes Kim Jong-il’s youngest son, Kim Jong-un, said to be 26, vice chairman of the central military commission of the Worker’s party. He’s made a four star general. (snort)

October 10, 2010 – It’s official: Kim Jong-un will fill his daddy’s tiny shoes.

October 10, 2010 –On the same day, during a parade to honor Un, NoKo unveils new Musudan submarine-launched Intermediate-Range Ballistic Missile based on Russia’s R-27 sub-launched missile.

October 27, 2010 – NoKo hilarious propaganda outrage over US refusal to accept their “research” into how the sinking of the Cheonan was not caused by them. It’s good for a laugh, their denial of their nutless history regarding trustworthiness.

November 4, 2010 – Cuba’s Raul Castro meets with Vice-Chairman of North Korea’s military Ri Yong Ho, who left NoKo on October 28 for the meeting.

November 8, 2010 – The LA Mystery Missile is born, and in spite of what multiple American Generals know, what multiple military analysts know, and what our own eyes saw, the Pentagon sells out and demands it was most definitely NOT a missile, but provides NO evidence of the plane it insists it is. November 10, 2010 – A Red Blaze is seen behind the Empire State Building. Just a plane, you people who have been seeing Condensation Trails (contrails) for over 40 years now are stupid and don’t know what you’re seeing. Move along.

US Moves to Hold Hegemony in Asia-Pacific Region Flayed

Pyongyang, November 22 (KCNA) — The authorities of the U.S., during their recent trip to several Asia-Pacific countries including Japan, south Korea and Australia, discussed some issues with main emphasis on “military cooperation” between the U.S. and Asia-Pacific countries and the buildup of the U.S. armed forces in the region.

Branding this as a very dangerous move to contain “potential rivals” in the Asia-Pacific region and maintain military domination over the region, a signed commentary of Rodong Sinmun Monday observes:

The U.S. seeks to establish a new Cold War structure in the region and hold hegemony in it.

The U.S. is tightening relations with traditional military allies such as Australia, Japan and south Korea and, at the same time, strengthening “military cooperation” with several Asian countries. By doing so, it seeks to heighten the degree of military pressure upon such “potential rivals” as China and Russia and step up the move to lay an encircling ring around them.

The U.S. tightened military pressure and interference in internal affairs of several Asia-Pacific countries may entail unpredictable consequences, causing split and estrangement and sparking off fierce arms race in those countries.

The U.S. is trumpeting about “peace and stability” in Asia while styling itself an “Asia-Pacific country”, but this is nothing but a cynical ploy to justify its criminal move to bring another Cold War and hold military hegemony. The fictitious “missile threat” from the DPRK floated by the U.S. is also no more than a smokescreen to cover up its arms buildup and scheme for military hegemony over the region.

All Koreans Called upon to Achieve Great National Unity

Pyongyang, November 22 (KCNA) — It is the consistent stand of the DPRK for national reunification to achieve great national unity.

Rodong Sinmun Monday observes this in a signed article.

It goes on:

Great national unity and national reunification are the crucial issues related to the destiny of the Koreans.

Koreans are the driving force for the country’s reunification and national reunification is a sacred cause of achieving independence of the nation through the unity of all the Koreans.

Any attempt to settle the issues of the nation and reunification in reliance upon outside forces, turning away from great national unity and the driving force, would bring greater national misfortune. It is nothing but an empty talk to mention national reconciliation and cooperation in pursuance of the reliance upon outside forces and national reunification can hardly be expected without the nation’s independence. The south Korean puppet group perpetrated such reckless military provocation as firing dozens of shells inside the territorial waters of the DPRK side around Yonphyong Islet in the West Sea of Korea from 13:00 on Nov. 23 despite the repeated warnings of the DPRK while staging the war maneuvers for a war of aggression on it codenamed Hoguk, escalating the tension on the Korean Peninsula.

The above-said military provocation is part of its sinister attempt to defend the brigandish “northern limit line,” while frequently infiltrating its naval warships into the territorial waters of the DPRK side under the pretext of “intercepting fishing boats.”

Large, Minor Power Stations under Construction

Pyongyang, November 23 (KCNA) — The construction of large and minor hydraulic power stations has made headway in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

The Huichon Power Station is taking shape thanks to the painstaking effort of the constructors who have been encouraged by repeated field guidance of Kim Jong Il.

They have introduced daring construction methods in the dam project to bring about good results in concrete tamping.

They are also making a progress in waterway tunneling, tunnel-widening and concrete covering projects, the construction of generator room and the transmission line laying project.

The builders of Paektusan Songun Youth Power Station No. 1 have completed the construction of the generator room and floodgates, and iron pipe assembling and successfully finished the final damming up of a temporary waterway.

The builders of Orangchon Power Station No. 2 are concentrating on the tunnel-widening and concrete tamping projects.

After mainly finishing the foundation work of the dam’s core wall in a year or little more, the builders of the Wonsan Army-Civilian Power Station are pushing ahead with all the projects in a three-dimensional way.

Meanwhile, the Yonha Power Station and some other minor power stations are nearing completion and scores of power stations are under construction in Jagang, South Hamgyong, Kangwon, Ryanggang and other provinces.

KCNA Blasts US Moves to Tighten Its Alliance with S. Korea

Pyongyang, November 23 (KCNA) — It is reported recently that the U.S. is working hard to tighten its alliance for aggression with south Korea in all aspects.

The U.S. worked out new “defence cooperation guidelines” on the basis of upgrading its alliance with south Korea with its level and prospect in the new century in view. High-ranking officials of the U.S. Administration in public appearances asserted the importance of a new alliance with south Korea.

There came into being a strategic consultative mechanism for commanding a U.S.-Japan-south Korea force for actual operations and military consultative systems for various branches of arms were rounded off under the pretext of coping with the non-existent “threat” from the DPRK.

It was against this backdrop that the U.S. Department of Defense announced that it would stage the U.S.-south Korea joint military exercises in the West Sea of Korea at any cost with its nuclear-powered carrier George Washington involved.

The evermore undisguised moves of the U.S. to tighten the above-said alliance hint at a new phase of unchallenged military action to put not only the Korean Peninsula but the whole of the Asia-Pacific region under its control.

The peninsula is the main target of the U.S. Asian strategy from a geopolitical point of view.

In pursuance of its political and military purposes the U.S. is desperately driving the south Korean bellicose forces into confrontation with the DPRK and thereby pushing the situation on the peninsula to an extreme phase.

The Korean Peninsula is the region where the north and the south are standing in acute confrontation and it is surrounded by big powers. It is, therefore, the strategic calculation of the U.S. to overpower its military rivals and realize its ambition for dominating the above-said region, taking advantage of the role of south Korea, its junior ally.

This is clear from what was stated in the new “defence cooperation guidelines.” What merits most serious attention is that these guidelines call on the U.S. and south Korea to boost the regional “cooperation” through bilateral, tripartite and multilateral activities while maintaining what it called “firm combined defence posture” on the peninsula.

What should not be overlooked, in particular, is the fact that the guidelines envisage expanding the scope of their application by including Northeast Asian countries in the “defence cooperation” projects, going beyond the limit that “both sides shall defend themselves from outside armed attack” stipulated in the “U.S.-south Korea mutual defence treaty” concluded several decades ago.

The above-said facts provide an irrefutable testimony that the U.S. strategic scenario for carrying out its strategy for dominating the Asia-Pacific region is at the phase of its implementation.

The moves stepped up by the U.S. to tighten the alliance under the fictitious “threat” from the DPRK are nothing but a serious military provocation as they drive the situation into an extreme phase.

The U.S. is the arch criminal threatening the peace and stability of the region including the peninsula and making the hostile relations persist there.

The above-said moves of the U.S. should be held in check at once.

“2010 White Paper on Unification” Termed Politically Motivated Paper

Pyongyang, November 23 (KCNA) — The Ministry of Unification of south Korea recently published “2010 white paper on unification” allegedly reviewing what it has done from January last year to June this year.

Minju Joson Tuesday observes in a signed commentary in this regard: The white paper published by the above-said ministry is a politically motivated document peppered with phrases embellishing its anti-reunification acts.

This is clearly evidenced by the fact that the white paper mentioned no word about the north-south joint declarations even though it let loose a string of balderdash about “the establishment of principled south-north relations”.

The white paper also said that “cooperation and contacts have been brisk with main emphasis on cultural, academic, sports, religious issues and other purely socio-cultural exchanges”, another clear indication that it is a politically motivated sham paper as it falsifies facts. The number of south Korean tourists who toured Mt. Kumgang and visited Kaesong and Pyongyang totaled more than 300 000 in 2008 but there has been not a single south Korean tourist since 2009.

It would be appropriate to call the white paper a white paper for division and confrontation.

By working out the white paper the coteries of the ministry sought to lead elsewhere the public opinion critical of it, tide over the ever-worsening ruling crisis and, furthermore, put spurs to the moves to escalate the confrontation with fellow countrymen and ignite a war.

The south Korean authorities would be well advised to roll back “their policy towards the north” aimed at escalating the above-said confrontation, though belatedly, and opt for improving the north-south relations.

S. Korea Urged to Opt for Implementing Inter-Korean Joint Declarations

Pyongyang, November 23 (KCNA) — The committee for promoting the work to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the formation of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea’s Reunification in south Korea made public a declaration on the situation on Nov. 19 urging the puppet authorities to implement the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration.

The declaration denounced the present regime for persistently pursuing the confrontation with fellow countrymen, totally negating the above-said declarations and only repeating the absurd watchwords “no nukes, opening and 3000 dollars”, “unification tax” and the like.

It held that if the present regime is to improve the inter-Korean relations, it should opt for implementing the above-mentioned declarations to the letter.

The authorities should immediately lift the labeling of the South Headquarters of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea’s Reunification as an “enemy-benefiting organization” and guarantee its legitimate activities, in particular.

It called upon the pro-reunification movement organizations of various circles to make more strenuous efforts to achieve Korea’s reunification through solidarity and alliance.

Some Democratic legislators have already begun criticizing President Barack Obama, almost two years ahead of the 2012 election. And many have reason to do so. With 23 Senate Democratic seats up for grabs in the next election cycle, incumbent Democrats do not want to wait and see if the president regains his popularity.

Comments about what was said at a behind closed door session between Democrats in Congress and Obama began circulating over the weekend. More than one political website wrote about the confrontational nature of the White House meeting with congressional Democrats.

According to Politico, Sen Bill Nelson (D-FL.) reportedly took the president to task for becoming a party liability. Politico said Friday that Nelson blamed Obama for creating a toxic political environment for Democrats in Florida and throughout the nation.

Nelson, a former astronaut, will have to defend, among other things the administration’s decision to drastically cut-back on the NationalAeronautics and Space Administration’s (NASA) budget, which analysts say in Florida alone might mean the loss of 20,000 good paying professional and technical jobs.

In Florida, Nelson’s actions did not surprise the news media. It expects Nelson to try and distance himself as much as possible from Obama as soon as possible in order to protect his senate seat in the 2012 election. The Palm Beach Post reported that Florida’s Republican Party is eagerly awaiting the election. Nelson is the last remaining Democrat to hold a statewide elected job in Florida, after the November 2, mid-term elections.

Democrats are not eager to talk about what Nelson told the president last Thursday, nor do they want to talk about his re-election bid in 2012.

Republicans on the other hand, cannot hide their eagerness. Already there are more than one potential Republican rivals for Nelson. One such potential suitor for the Senate seat, Florida’s Senate President Mike Haridopolos, told The Daily Caller he’s glad Nelson finally spoke out about the president but said he hopes the senator will start demonstrating his change of heart with his actions and votes, too.

“Up to this point, he [Nelson] has been lock-step with President Obama,” Haridopolos said in a phone interview. “He voted for the stimulus, he voted for the health-care bill. I’m glad he’s saying something right now but his actions show that he is tied to President Obama at the hip.”

Another potential candidate is Florida’s other sitting U.S. senator George Lemieux, who was appointed to the Senate to replace Senator Mel Martínez, who retired from his post before his term expired. Lemieux was appointed to fill Martinez’s seat by Gov. Charlie Crist, but has separated himself from the governor since he resigned from the Republican Party to run unsuccessfully as an Independent.

Lemieux and his staff have abstained from making any public comments although analysts in Florida say it is a fairly good bet that he will run.

Haridopolos told The Caller that he has yet to make a final decision as to whether he’ll run against Nelson for the Sunshine State’s Senate seat in 2012, but admitted he has received many phone calls from voters urging him to run.

“It’s going to depend on who in Florida wants me to run,” Haridopolos said. “At this point, most of the people I’ve talked to have said that they would strongly support me.”

He said many people in Florida feel deserted by the Democratic leadership in Washington.

“Most Democrats I speak to say, you know, they didn’t leave the Democratic Party, but the Democratic Party left them,” Haridopolos said. “They have moved hard to the left. The way Senator Nelson has voted the last two years, he has done the same. He has fully embraced President Obama.”

Haridopolos said many callers are angry at Nelson for permitting “NASA to be destroyed. That’s 20,000 jobs, let alone the more important component which is national security. That’s why, I think, people who have been long-time Bill Nelson supporters are calling people like me and saying we want you to challenge Bill Nelson because he’s not standing up for Florida.”
