Now there's a standard we can all relate to, the turban-comfort thing gets better:
New U.S. guidelines put into effect two weeks ago no longer require air passengers to remove turbans if doing so makes them uncomfortable, the U.S. Transport Security Administration said.
But they may still have their turbans patted down — something Sikhs say is happening increasingly amid global terror alerts. And in some cases women are asked to unpin their hair. Religious groups say it is a form of racial profiling.
So it is racial profiling to frisk a large garment that can conceal a deadly weapon. And it is racial profiling to ask a woman to unpin her hair. Therefore, if I have a backpack similar in concealing ability to a turban, I can claim profiling if it is searched, and if I, a person who believes fervently that Muslimism a joke of a religion from one end to the other, decide to puff up my hair and use hairpins, then I, too, can claim profiling – of a leftover hippie, perhaps – if I am asked to unpin said cheveux.
It seems to me that the weak-minded in this world love to claim profiling of any nature whenever anything about their lives is not given this pathetic liquid standard of "respect."
I have a solution: Stay home.
