Remember the ‘doc fix’? It expires 12/1/10. Again.

I'm shaking my head on this issue.  My recollection is that Congress resolved it.  Guess not.

The argument over and resolution of the 23% reduction in fees in June 2010 was slowed down for political and fiscal reasons.  The pubs wanted to ensure that we all saw that ObamaCare's "deficit-neutral" calculation required the reduction to take place, and that as soon as passage was secured they were merrily going along to ensure that the reduction did not take place.  It was cute.  Dems were also trying to push through the fix without offsetting expenditures elsewhere.  Gee, I can picture the plasticine face of Pelosi saying sometime during her now-expiring tenure as Speaker the words "pay as you go."  In the end, the doc fix was passed with offsets of some nature that didn't impress fiscal conservatives – I recall many of them being future expenditures.  "I'll gladly pay you tomorrow for a hamburger today," Wimpy was fond of saying.

So now here we are:  That June 2010 fix expires on December 1, a mere two weeks away.  In a broader sense, this is an issue that I have with the 111th Congress and its leadership: All the tough issues seem to be a game of kick the can.  They resolve nothing unless, naturally, it is a big-government program that ensures employment for their union benefactors.  As a side note, with all the fury over the TSA groin checks, it was just announced that they – TSA groin checkers – will be voting on forming a union.  How nice.  Back on point, we all know of the tax-cut extension arguments.  They have, again, mere weeks to resolve it before major changes hit the economy.

With such tardy performance on such major issues, if they were my employees, I'd fire them.  Oh wait, we did.

So now we're told, in the link above, just like we were several months ago, that the entire medical system for seniors may fall apart.  Poof.  Two-thirds of docs may walk away … wait for it … just when the babyboomers are entering the system! Oh my!  "Lions and tigers and" … whatever Dorothy said.

I am sick to death, to pull a phrase, of the federal government running like it is some start-up with just a concept yet having a billion dollars invested:  Money gets spent everywhere and on everything, yet at the core of the operation the one thing that makes a company successful is lacking – efficiency.

STOP THE POLITICAL FRICKING GAMES AND FIX THE MEDICARE REIMBURSEMENT ISSUE – AND MOVE FRICKING ON!  Morons …
