I guess removing coconuts from trees wasn't nearly extravagant enough. Also, Obama's trip to India has the carbon footprint of Memphis, Tennessee. That's right - an entire city. I don't that that calculation includes 34 WARSHIPS! Including an aircraft carrier. From NDTV via drudge:
King George could never have imagined how good future kings would have it. On the bright side, Obama spends a lot more than $200 million per day when he's here in the US, so this may actually be a bargain for us taxpayers....Communications set-up, nuclear button, a fleet of limousines and majority of the White House staff will be in India accompanying the President on this three-day visit that will cover Mumbai and Delhi.
He will also be protected by a fleet of 34 warships, including an aircraft carrier, which will patrol the sea lanes off the Mumbai coast during his two-day stay there beginning Saturday...

Around 800 rooms have been booked for the President and his entourage in Taj Hotel and Hyatt.
