I just got an invite from a conservative friend to sign up to the Facebook “Commit to Vote” page:[------] … asks: Will you join me in committing to vote?At first it looked completely legit. I clicked on it because a friend asked me to – nothing more. And then I watched the progression of pages. Facebook went to BarackObama dot com and then with an auto-redirect to the C2V page.
Join the Commit to Vote Challenge and inspire your friends to vote
[------] … committed to vote by November 2nd. “Everyone needs to vote regardless or party. “
BarackObama dot com? Gee, it makes “Commit to Vote” seem like some inoculative name with a sinister underlying purpose. Is Barry collecting FB sign-ups? E-addresses?
