The State department certainly has imported enough Muslims from Somalia to stage an attack. It's all set. The invasion is complete.

MOGADISHU, Somalia -- A leader of Somalia's Islamist insurgency threatened to attack America during a speech broadcast Monday.

"We tell the American President Barack Obama to embrace Islam before we come to his country," said Fuad Mohamed "Shongole" Qalaf.

Al-Shabab has not yet launched an attack outside Africa but Western intelligence has long been worried because the group targeted young Somali-Americans for recruitment. About 20 have traveled to Somalia for training and at least three were used as suicide bombers inside Somalia. Al-Shabab holds most of southern and central Somalia and has the support of hundreds of foreign fighters, mostly radicalized East Africans.

It seeks to overthrow the weak U.N.-backed government, which is protected by 8,000 Ugandan and Burundian African Union peacekeepers.

The al-Shabab militia launched coordinated attacks in Uganda in July that killed 76 people. It has also announced its allegiance to Al Qaeda and is believed to be harboring a mastermind of the twin 2008 bombings of U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania that killed 224 people.

The radio message was recorded in the town of Afgoye, near the Somali capital, during a meeting of Shongole and Sheik Hassan Dahir Aweys, formerly the leader of insurgent group Hizbul Islam. The two insurgent groups had clashed several times previously but announced a merger last week. Aweys said his group will fight under al-Shabab's command.

"We have united for the sake of our ideology and we are going to redouble our efforts to remove the government and the African Union from the country," said Aweys on Monday.

Two local advocate groups for undocumented immigrants have publicly accused the Los Angeles Police Department and the Los Angeles County Sherriff's Department of using DUI checkpoints to legally seize thousands of cars.

The Southern California Immigration Coalition and the South Central Neighborhood Council claim DUI checkpoints are strategically placed in and around Hispanic communities as a trap to catch unlicensed and undocumented drivers. …

'In one impound, four cars were impounded because of drunk driving and 60 cars were impounded because of a lack of a license,' said Julia Wallace of the South Central Neighborhood Council. 'It's obvious to us that for one, these things are targeting working class people, undocumented immigrants, that do not have a license but are really just abiding the law otherwise and are not drunk.'

Here's an example of the usefulness of the Newspeak euphemisms liberals speak in. If she had said, 'illegal aliens' who are abiding by the law other than driving drunk and without licenses, it would be even harder to keep a straight face. After all, the term 'illegal' does have a legal meaning.

What's to be done about the racism inherent in stopping drunk drivers in areas where most of the drunk drivers are invading Mexicans? Maybe they should follow in the footsteps of Maywood, a city completely taken over by 'undocumented Immigrants.' There the police were ordered to disband their traffic enforcement division lest drunken, unlicensed Mexicans be inconvenienced. Eventually, Maywood did away with its police department altogether. Lighting a shining path for the rest of California, Maywood soon collapsed into bankruptcy and lawlessness.

For now, militants may settle for following Oakland's example:

The two groups want the city of Los Angeles to adopt a policy similar to the policy in Oakland, where undocumented or unlicensed drivers are allowed to pull over and wait for a licensed driver to come and get their vehicle rather than have their vehicle impounded.

The former Mayor of Oakland, infamous for his left-wing wackiness, will soon be taking office as Governor of California.

The insanity won't ease up any time soon.

The most common myth that appears in “net neutrality” debates, even ones that appear in our comment section, is that the internet needs regulation in order to stay “neutral.” In reality, the internet is as open and adaptive as it is because it has been free of government regulation. Slate’s Jake Shafer has fun with this fact with “A counterfactual history of cyberspace” that explores what could have happened “If the FCC Had Regulated the Internet.”

In January 1993, idle regulators at the FCC belatedly discover the burgeoning world of online services. Led by CompuServe, MCI Mail, AOL, GEnie, Delphi, and Prodigy, these services have been embraced by the computer-owning public. … The FCC declares that because these private networks use the publically regulated telephone system, they fall under the purview of the Communications Act of 1934. The commission announces forthcoming plans to regulate the services in the “public interest, convenience, and necessity.”

In late 1993, AOL and Delphi become the first online services to offer the Internet. The FCC orders both to drop the feature until the FCC’s labs approve it.

Our foreign policy establishment believes that America’s allotment of conventional weapons is useless. The DOD’s current leaders (Robert Gates, William Lynn, et al.) would love to significantly reduce our numbers in this respect, and they’ve already made extensive “progress.”

The first President Bush cancelled over a hundred weapon programs and reduced many others, including the order for B-2 bombers. The Clinton administration also canceled or cut a number of programs (e.g., the Seawolf class), as did the second Bush administration (vide the XM2001 artillery program, the Comanche helicopter, the E-10MC2A AWACS, etc.). All three administrations also radically reduced the inventories of existing conventional weapons.

The Obama administration has implemented its own cuts of existing stockpiles of weapons, and during FY2010, it closed over twenty crucial weapon programs, including the F-22, the Zumwalt class, the CSAR-X helicopter program, and the AC-X gunship program. SecDef Robert Gates tried to justify these cuts with claims that a bunch of militants hiding in caves threaten the U.S. worse than China and Russia does. He also believes that these countries are not America’s foes, or even potential adversaries, but rather constructive partners. Harry Reid came to Gates’s defense, saying that conventional weapons like F-22s are useless against irregular opponents such as the Taliban and are therefore totally unneeded.

The agency laid out a timetable for phasing in emissions standards for power plants and refineries, and it announced that it would issue greenhouse gas permits in Texas, where the governor had refused to align itself with federal rules. On top of that, beginning in January EPA will, on a case-by-case basis, begin phasing in rules that require large new industrial plants and sites that perform major upgrades to curb emissions.

2010 was a disappointing year for environmental groups that poured resources into lobbying for climate legislation, only to see it hit a brick wall in the Senate. Now, with emissions caps more vilified than ever on Capitol Hill, look for green groups to defend state and EPA climate programs.

Sierra Club Executive Director Michael Brune said earlier this year that clean energy advocates are getting their “asses kicked” inside the Beltway and called on environmental groups to rethink their strategies.

• 61% believe the law will cause health care costs to go up
• 55% say the law will be bad for the country

The nation's menu of crises caused by governmental malpractice may soon include states coming to Congress as mendicants, seeking relief from the consequences of their choices. Congress should forestall this by passing a bill with a bland title but explosive potential.

Principal author of the Public Employee Pension Transparency Act is Rep. Devin Nunes, a Republican from California, where about 80 cents of every government dollar goes for government employees' pay and benefits. His bill would define the scale of the problem of underfunded state and local government pensions and would notify states not to approach Congress like Oliver Twists, holding out porridge bowls and asking for more.

Corporate pension funds are heavily regulated, including pre-funding requirements. A federal agency, the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corp., copes with insolvent ones. By requiring transparency, the government gave the private sector an incentive to move to defined contributions from defined-benefit plans, which are now primarily luxuries enjoyed by public employees.

Less candor, realism and pre-funding are required of state and municipal governments regarding their pension plans. Nunes's bill would require them to disclose the size of their pension liabilities - and the often-dreamy assumptions behind the calculations. Noncompliant governments would be ineligible for issuing bonds exempt from federal taxation. Furthermore, the bill would stipulate that state and local governments are entirely responsible for their pension obligations and the federal government will provide no bailouts.

The states have an estimated $3.3 trillion in unfunded pension liabilities. And I would bet dollars to doughnuts that the vast majority of that liability rests with California, New York, Illinois and a few other of them.

Nunes says that 10 states will exhaust their pension money by 2020, and all but eight states will by 2030.

Perhaps it is not a bad thing that California, New York and Illinois each elected Democratic governors beholden to public employee unions.It will speed up the day of reckoning and serve as a warning to others. Michigan might yet turn around its ship before hitting the iceberg. HT: memeorandum

Not a Real News Network Anyway, MSNBC Announces Name and Format Change: Welcome to MPTV: "

As you probably know, many TV Networks revamp in January. MSNBC has planned a major overall to its lineup.

Faced with years of disaster-level ratings, MSNBC has announced it will change its name to MPTV, Microsoft Progressive Television (the Microsoft name was kept because, well you don’t want to upset Microsoft). Along with the name change is a more family friendly TV lineup.

For example in the late morning there will be a block of game shows, the most promising of which is based on the health care bill and called Take the Money or Let Granny Die. Contestants will be offered the chance to guarantee the funds of their social security retirement plans if they agree to withhold expensive medical treatment from an aging grandparent or other elderly relative.

Another daytime show is designed to compete with programs like The People’s Court; it’s called Arrest President Bush, every day a regular person gets to charge former President Bush or someone from his administration with a crime. The first episode deals with something that progressives have been mourning about for ten years. The episode’s called, “He Stole the 2000 Election.”

The dinnertime lineup includes a remake of an old Art Linkletter show; it’s called Republicans Say the Darndest Things. Each show will feature guests from Media Matters and Daily Kos who will take comments made by Republicans and tell everyone what they really mean. For example according the show, when a Republican says” let’s cut the size of the federal government,” he is really saying “I despise all minorities”

Not wanting to give up on one of its most valuable assets, the former MSNBC found the perfect show for its political reporter Pat Buchanan. It’s called, “The Jews Did It.” This is right in Buchanan’s wheel house. A documentary series this show will detail all of the things that Buchanan blames on the Jews, from the Iraq War and the bursting of the Housing Bubble to the L.A. Lakers’ loss in the last NBA Championship and the cancellation of Law and Order.

Made Just for MPTV is a new version of the popular CSI series, Called CSI Small Town, it follows a crime scene investigation team as they work in small Red State towns. Well at least what matches their vision of Red State towns. Follow these investigators as the search for answers in towns where everyone sits on their front porches clinging to their guns and religion. According to the Progressive TV writers, making their job even more difficult is that they can’t do DNA tests or examine dental records because these former MSNBC writers believe that in these small red state towns everybody has the same DNA and no one has any teeth.

There are even Sitcoms on this new version of MSNBC. My favorite is called Everybody Hates Keith. Follow the comedic exploits of arrogant superstar Keith Olbermann as he goes through the day realizing that his opponents hate him, but not understanding that his “friends,” co-workers, family and even his parish priest despise the very sight of him.

Perhaps the number one upcoming television program on MPTV will be broadcast in early November. It’s called Election Results. On this show we find out which party will be in control of Congress. Will the people understand that the Democratic Party knows what is good for them or will they vote GOP? Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann will star in this special as they make up excuses about why the American voter has handed major losses to the Progressive Democratic Party. Look for exclusive segments on the racism of Middle America and why Americans are stupid.

To those of you who will complain about the loss of the ideological point of view of MSNBC I say rubbish. MPTV, the new MSNBC will be broadcasting the same progressive propaganda as the old news network; the only differences now are that it cuts out the pretense of being fair and puts the selling of the progressive agenda into a more entertaining package. Fun for the whole family!
