Irony: Pro-abort Al Franken Reads The Bible To Prove Tax Cuts Should End: "Al Franken pulled a schadenfreude when he read from Matthew 2 about helping the most vulnerable among us. Here's the biblical reference that Franken alludes to:

⁴⁴ “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’

⁴⁵ “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’ -Matthew 2 (NIN)

Franken wallows in his ignorance here because 1) he defends with his vote the wanton butchery of truly the least of these - the unborn. And 2) nowhere in the Bible is it even implied that you should steal from someone else to help the poor. It was a command given to individuals to give of themselves. Like most liberals, Franken doesn't believe this. He would much rather spend other people's money than his own. It's amusing sometimes to watch anti-Christians referencing the Bible to push their ungodly agenda:

The Bible does not differentiate between born and unborn babies. The same Greek word is used for both. Pregnant women were all declared mothers no matter the stage of pregnancy. And children had a special place in Jesus heart. Al Franken is the worst type of hypocrite, using the Bible to try to continue to addict people to government dependence while helping butcher unborn babies on the side.

A child nutrition bill on its way to President Barack Obama — and championed by the first lady — gives the government power to limit school bake sales and other fundraisers that health advocates say sometimes replace wholesome meals in the lunchroom.

...'This could be a real train wreck for school districts,' Lucy Gettman of the National School Boards Association said Friday, a day after the House cleared the bill. 'The federal government should not be in the business of regulating this kind of activity at the local level.'

They shouldn't be into this kind of activity at all because there's this really cool document called the US Constitution, and if you flip to Article 1 Section 8 you will find 17 powers enumerated to the US Congress. What's in this bill isn't one of them.

...The language is broad enough that a president's administration could even ban bake sales, but Secretary Tom Vilsack signaled in a letter to House Education and Labor Committee Chairman George Miller, D-Calif., this week that he does not intend to do that.

Of course he doesn't intend to do it. But he'll do it anyway. Later. After the news cycle passes this by. Margo Wootan of the Center for Science in the Public Interestis quoted as as saying that the banning of 'junk food' will increase parental choice. Let me repeat that. Good grief. The Obama Administration used their Chicago-style street thug tactics to spy on and threaten countries who opposed the Copenhagen global warming junk science accord.

And, here we thought they reserved the use of their Alinsky-style tactics on opponents here at home. Boy, were we wrong.

The Obama Administration spied on, threatened and bribed countries to support the Copenhagen Accord. The accord would have devastated American business and manufacturing.

Hidden behind the save-the-world rhetoric of the global climate change negotiations lies the mucky realpolitik: money and threats buy political support; spying and cyberwarfare are used to seek out leverage.

The US diplomatic cables reveal how the US seeks dirt on nations opposed to its approach to tackling global warming; how financial and other aid is used by countries to gain political backing; how distrust, broken promises and creative accounting dog negotiations; and how the US mounted a secret global diplomatic offensive to overwhelm opposition to the controversial “Copenhagen accord”, the unofficial document that emerged from the ruins of the Copenhagen climate change summit in 2009.

Negotiating a climate treaty is a high-stakes game, not just because of the danger warming poses to civilisation but also because re-engineering the global economy to a low-carbon model will see the flow of billions of dollars redirected.

Seeking negotiating chips, the US state department sent a secret cable on 31 July 2009 seeking human intelligence from UN diplomats across a range of issues, including climate change. The request originated with the CIA. As well as countries’ negotiating positions for Copenhagen, diplomats were asked to provide evidence of UN environmental “treaty circumvention” and deals between nations.

But intelligence gathering was not just one way. On 19 June 2009, the state department sent a cable detailing a “spear phishing” attack on the office of the US climate change envoy, Todd Stern, while talks with China on emissions took place in Beijing. Five people received emails, personalised to look as though they came from the National Journal. An attached file contained malicious code that would give complete control of the recipient’s computer to a hacker. While the attack was unsuccessful, the department’s cyber threat analysis division noted: “It is probable intrusion attempts such as this will persist.”

The Beijing talks failed to lead to a global deal at Copenhagen.

It’s a good thing the US media is ignoring this story. It might reflect poorly on the Obama Administration.

They certainly don’t want that to happen.

At Friday prayers, imam Maulana Yousuf Qureshi offered a reward to anyone who murders Christian mother Asia Bibi.

In his sermon, Maulana Yousuf Qureshi of the Mohabat Khan mosque, said that if the appeals court judge innocent Asia Bibi will be the mujahideen to kill her. The leader has also warned the government on any changes to the law on blasphemy.

On the Friday prayer imam of the largest mosque in Peshawar offered a reward of 4,500 euro, for anyone who kills Asia Bibi. In his sermon, Maulana Yousuf Qureshi warned the government against any move to abolish or amend the blasphemy law. ” We will strongly resist – said the religious leader – any attempt to repeal laws which provide protection to the sanctity of Holy Prophet Muhammad”. “Whoever kills Asia Bibi – he continued – will be given a reward of 500 thousand rupees from the Mohabat Khan mosque”. The imam said that if the appeals court judge Asia Bibi innocent, the mujahideen will kill her.

The Obama State Department threatened university students not to post links to Wikileaks on their Facebook page or Twitter accounts.

The far left Huffington Post reported:

Talking about WikiLeaks on Facebook or Twitter could endanger your job prospects, a State Department official warned students at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs this week.

An email from SIPA’s Office of Career Services went out Tuesday afternoon with a caution from the official, an alumnus of the school. Students who will be applying for jobs in the federal government could jeopardize their prospects by posting links to WikiLeaks online, or even by discussing the leaked documents on social networking sites, the official was quoted as saying.

“[The alumnus] recommends that you DO NOT post links to these documents nor make comments on social media sites such as Facebook or through Twitter,” the Office of Career Services advised students. “Engaging in these activities would call into question your ability to deal with confidential information, which is part of most positions with the federal government.”

This week anti-American activist Julian Assange made a stunning admission to The Guardian. The Wikileak founder confessed that a document his organization leaked “flipped the election” in Kenya where “1,300 people were eventually killed, and 350,000 were displaced.” But then Assange went on to say that, “On the other hand, the Kenyan people had a right to that information.”

The Guardian reported:

Vaughan Smith, the director of the Frontline Club, tells me that he’s more or less subsisted on “two hours’ sleep and two sandwiches”. But then, there’s something about Assange that if not superhuman, is almost as if sleep and food are mere technicalities that might concern the rest of us, but that he has found a way of simply dispensing with. Combat, intellectual combat, seems to be his stimulant of choice. It just fuels him.

When I try to question him about the morality of what he’s done, if he worries about unleashing something that he can’t control, that no one can control, he tells me the story of the Kenyan 2007 elections when a WikiLeak document “swung the election”.

The leak exposed massive corruption by Daniel Arap Moi, and the Kenyan people sat up and took notice. In the ensuing elections, in which corruption became a major issue, violence swept the country. “1,300 people were eventually killed, and 350,000 were displaced. That was a result of our leak,” says Assange. It’s a chilling statistic, but then he states: “On the other hand, the Kenyan people had a right to that information and 40,000 children a year die of malaria in Kenya. And many more die of money being pulled out of Kenya, and as a result of the Kenyan shilling being debased.”

It’s the kind of moral conundrum that would unnerve most people, that made some wonder last week what the potential ramifications of the latest leak might be, but it is a subject on which Assange himself is absolutely clear: “You have to start with the truth. The truth is the only way that we can get anywhere. Because any decision-making that is based upon lies or ignorance can’t lead to a good conclusion.”

The other key thing about WikiLeaks is that it’s internationalist in the true sense. “We do not have national security concerns. We have concerns about human beings,” says Assange.

Obama Forgets Coast Guard in List of Military Branches

President Obama needed a little help from the troops in Afghanistan on Friday as he thanked the military branches for their work but forgot to mention the Coast Guard.

"I think we've got every service here tonight," Obama said at Bagram Air Base. He then called on the branches as their members cheered: "We've got Army. We've got Navy. We've got Air Force. I think we may have a few Marines around, too."

Obama continued, "And a whole lot of folks from the 101st Airborne Division, the Screaming Eagles."

Moving to his remarks, Obama said, "Now, here in Afghanistan …" Then, someone in the crowd shouted out, "Coast Guard!"

"Coast Guard?" Obama repeated. "Is that what I heard?"

Forget the record Trillion dollar deficit – The democrats want to pass their $6.2 billion DREAM Act next week.

Of course… The state-run media is already pushing this latest liberal plan.
The media wants you to know that illegal aliens have given blood and therefore deserve citizenship.
The AP reported:

Immigrant advocates have staged sit-ins, held rallies and gone on hunger strikes in recent days in an 11th hour bid to get Congress to pass legislation that would give illegal immigrants a pathway to citizenship by going to college or serving in the military.

As Congress gets closers to a possible vote on the bill, called the DREAM Act, college-aged illegal immigrants are literally shedding blood for the cause.

On Friday, a group of illegal immigrant college students, or "DREAMers" as they called themselves, donated blood at Harvard University and other colleges. The students said they wanted to show the rest of the country that they are ready to perform community service and are good citizens, even if they don't have U.S. citizenship.

"As someone who is undocumented … I'm not scared about giving blood," said Megha Sharma, 22, whose family came to Massachusetts from India seven years ago and who donated blood Friday for the first time. "I'm scared about the vote in Congress."

The DREAM Act is in the pile of legislation awaiting action in the final days of the current Congress.

Myrna Orozco, a 20-year-old from Kansas City, Mo., who is spearheading the national effort, said supporters have been donating blood in the name of the cause for about two weeks. So far, she said "DREAMers" have given blood in California, Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri, Texas and Virginia, with more states targeted in the coming days.

The AP reported: "GOP block Democratic tax plans on upper-incomes"

Senate Republicans blocked legislation Saturday to let upper-income tax cuts expire on Jan. 1, a showdown scripted by Democrats eager to showcase GOP lawmakers as defenders of millionaires.

"Do we want to extend those tax breaks for millionaires and billionaires at a time of huge deficits. I would argue vociferously we shouldn't," said Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., shortly before the votes.

Republicans countered that no taxes should be raised at a time the economy is recovering from a recession. "It is the most astounding theory I have ever seen, raise taxes to create jobs," said Sen. John Thune of South Dakota.

Both measures would have extended expiring cuts for the middle class.

Ironically, the votes were widely seen as a prelude to a possible agreement next week between the White House and congressional leaders on legislation that would avert tax increases at all income levels, as Republicans want.

Any agreement is also expected to extend jobless benefits for the long-term unemployed, a Democratic priority, and possibly renew tax breaks the White House wants for college students, companies that hire the unemployed and lower- and middle-class wage earners.

The Senate took the two votes on bills that would have permitted tax cuts to remain in effect at most incomes.

A proposal to let tax rates rise on Jan. 1 on incomes over $200,000 for individuals and $250,000 for couples fell on a vote of 53-36, seven short of the 60 needed to advance.

An alternative advanced by Schumer and others—but opposed by the White House—would have let rates rise on incomes over $1 million. The vote was 53-37, also seven short of the 60 needed.

Governor-Elect Nikki Haley To Obama: “The People of South Carolina Want Their Money Back”

South Carolina Governor-elect Nikki Haley confronted President Obama this week during his meeting with the nation's governors.

Haley told the president that if his administration does not honor the federal government's nuclear energy commitments then,
"The people of South Carolina want their money back."

The Post and Courier reported:

Haley said she also asked the president if he would honor the federal government's commitment on developing a nuclear waste repository. When he said he would not revisit opening Nevada's Yucca Mountain, "I said, 'Then give us our money back.' "

The site 90 miles northwest of Las Vegas was proposed to house more than 4,000 metric tons of high-level nuclear waste from South Carolina's Savannah River Site. The state and Washington have sued over Obama's attempt to kill plans for the storage site after decades of study.

"SRS has done a good job, but that was a temporary solution. It was never meant to be a permanent solution," Haley said she told him. "The federal government has reneged on its promise, and the people of South Carolina want their money back."

South Carolina's power plants and its customers have contributed more than $1 billion over nearly 30 years to a permanent repository.

She says Obama pledged that he would have Energy secretary Steven Chu call her promptly.

"I will wait for that phone call, and if I don't get it, I will be calling, but I feel he was being genuine," she said.
