War on Christmas: The Red Cross bans Christmas so as not to offend Muslims: "And yes this is once again beginning in the moonbat capital of the planet - Britain. From the UK Daily Mail:

Christmas has been banned by the Red Cross from its 430 fund-raising shops.

Staff have been ordered to take down decorations and to remove any other signs of the Christian festival because they could offend Moslems.

The charity's politically-correct move triggered an avalanche of criticism and mockery last night - from Christians and Moslems.

Christine Banks, a volunteer at a Red Cross shop in New Romney, Kent, said: 'We put up a nativity scene in the window and were told to take it out. It seems we can't have anything that means Christmas. We're allowed to have some tinsel but that's it.

'When we send cards they have to say season's greetings or best wishes. They must not be linked directly to Christmas.

'When we asked we were told it is because we must not upset Moslems.'

Mrs Banks added: ' We have been instructed that we can't say anything about Christmas and we certainly can't have a Christmas tree.

' I think the policy is offensive to Moslems as well as to us. No reasonable person can object to Christians celebrating Christmas. But we are not supposed to show any sign of Christianity at all.'

Labour peer Lord Ahmed, one of the country's most prominent Moslem politicians, said: 'It is stupid to think Moslems would be offended.

Of course, their biggest “lie of the year,” the national takeover of healthcare, was not a lie at all.

They must have missed the news this week that the democrats’ “federal mandate” was found to be unconstitutional? Do these liberals not understand that a “federal mandate” means ALL Americans must obey and purchase health insurance?… That Obamacare forces ALL Americans to participate whether they want to or not? Apparently that was lost on the Politifact liberals.

And, guess who didn’t make the list???

That’s right, Speaker Pelosi and Barack Obama, two the most dishonest political figures in recent memory.

They forgot to include Pelosi’s awful lie that she brought down the deficit when she tripled it in one year and she increased it five-fold in 4 years. They ignored Pelosi’s line that Obama created jobs from day one when the unemployment rate under Obama has nearly doubled from the Bush years. And, of course, they forgot Obama’s lies about the health care bill claiming that it would save money, not cover abortions and that you would be able to keep your current insurance plan if you wanted to – all lies.

This was such an obvious hit piece on Republicans.

And, they wonder why they’re called the lamestream media?

While the TSA was groping grandma, an Iranian-American businessman slipped on the plane with a gun.

The Daily Mail reported:

The effectiveness of security at U.S. ports is being questioned after a businessman accidentally travelled on a flight with a loaded handgun in his luggage.

Iranian-American Farid Seif was screened by Trasport Security Administration officials at Houston airport in Texas. His hand luggage was also X-rayed before he took off on his international flight.

It wasn’t until Mr Seif arrived at his hotel several hours later that he realised that he had forgotten to unpack a loaded snub nose Glock pistol from his luggage before he embarked on his journey.

‘It’s just impossible to miss it, you know. I mean, this is not a small gun,’ Mr Seif told ABC News.

‘How can you miss it? You cannot miss it.’

According to ABC, security slip-ups in the U.S. are not rare.

The news network claims experts have confided that ‘every year since the September 11 terror attacks, federal agencies have conducted random, covert “red team tests”, where undercover agents try to see just how much they can get past security checks at major U.S. airports’.

Obama's Bad Numbers Are The Real Headline

The headline at The Washington Post, quite predictably, is that Sarah Palin's poll numbers are terrible.

But the more important story for 2012 is that Barack Obama has lost 44% of the voters, and has weak core support (emphasis mine):

Still, the survey shows limits to Obama's appeal. More than four in 10 voters - 44 percent - say they would not even consider voting for him in 2012, with about one in four definitively behind him. Among independents, 40 percent say they would not vote for him, 36 percent say they would consider it and 21 percent say they would certainly back him.

This number is consistent with polling over the past two years which shows that Obama has lost -- irretrievably -- a percentage of voters in the mid-40s range.

As I've pointed out before, the most important poll I have seen was taken by Democratic pollster PPP in October 2009, asking the provocative question, "Do you think that Barack Obama loves America?"

The responses were as follows: Yes (59%), No (26%), Not Sure (14%). I have not seen a similar question polled since then, but I would venture to guess the numbers would be even more negative. But even using those more than year-old numbers, the picture is bleak for Obama when 40% of the voters either think he does not love America, or are not sure.

This mid-40s anti-Obama vote is consistent with polling on whether Obama was born in Hawaii, with a majority either uncertain or believing Obama was born elsewhere.

Charles Krauthammer believes that Obama already is the comeback kid because of the "tax deal." 

I have made that point before, but there are limits to how far Obama can come.  Obama has lost approximately 45% of the population, and he will not get that vote back no matter what he does.

As with 2010, in 2012 the key will be whether Obama can recapture the base and moderate Democrats, and the independents.  The Washington Post poll indicates that Obama remains weak with independents, definitely having lost 40% of them.

Taking 45% of voters overall and 40% of independents off the table leaves Obama little room to maneuver.

With a weak Obama who has little margin for error, does this make the choice of Republican even more important? 

Let's rekindle the "conservative and uninspiring but low negatives" versus "conservative and dynamic but high negatives" debate.

Obama tripled the deficit in one year. Pelosi has added $5 Trillion to the national deficit in 4 years. And, the democratic members in Congress are no better.

Press coverage of the budget frenzy on Capitol Hill has suggested that pork-barrel earmark spending is still a bipartisan problem, that after months of self-righteous rhetoric about fiscal discipline, Republicans and Democrats remain equal-opportunity earmarkers.

It's not true. A new analysis by a group of federal-spending watchdogs shows a striking imbalance between the parties when it comes to earmark requests. Democrats remain raging spenders, while Republicans have made enormous strides in cleaning up their act.

In the Senate, the GOP made only one-third as many earmark requests as Democrats for 2011, and in the House, Republicans have nearly given up earmarking altogether — while Democrats roll on.

The watchdog groups — Taxpayers for Common Sense, WashingtonWatch.com, and Taxpayers Against Earmarks — counted total earmark requests in the 2011 budget. Those requests were made by lawmakers earlier this year, but Democratic leaders, afraid that their party's spending priorities might cost them at the polls, decided not to pass a budget before the Nov. 2 elections. This week, they distilled those earmark requests — threw some out, combined others — into the omnibus bill that was under consideration in the Senate until Majority Leader Harry Reid pulled it Thursday night. While that bill was loaded with spending, looking back at the original earmark requests tells us a lot about the spending inclinations of both parties.

In the 2011 House budget, the groups found that House Democrats requested 18,189 earmarks, which would cost the taxpayers a total of $51.7 billion, while House Republicans requested just 241 earmarks, for a total of $1 billion.

Once Again, Obama Extends Hand to Taliban… Once Again, Taliban Vows to Continue to Fight

Yesterday, Barack Obama once again reached out to the Taliban terrorist organization.
The White House reported:

Over the past year, we've dramatically increased our civilian presence, with more diplomats and development experts working alongside our troops, risking their lives and partnering with Afghans. Going forward, there must be a continued focus on the delivery of basic services, as well as transparency and accountability. We will also fully support an Afghan political process that includes reconciliation with those Taliban who break ties with al Qaeda, renounce violence and accept the Afghan constitution.

The Taliban released a statement in response to the former community organizer's speech.

In their response, the Taliban claimed that the exit or withdrawal of U.S. troops is not the result of success but rather an effect of increased U.S. casualties and the cost of the Afghan war, which the U.S. can no longer afford.

Mujahid vowed that the Taliban would continue the fight agains coalition forces. He said that "with the presence of foreign forces in our country there will be no peace and security. The interference of foreign forces in the affairs of Afghanistan … will only increase casualties."

Last year Taliban militants said the idea of reconciliation offered by Secretary of State Clinton was a "lunatic idea."

In May of this year a Taliban-linked terrorist tried to blow a hole in Times Square.

It Begins… Feds Force Small Town Bank to Remove Christian Symbols & Christmas Buttons

The government warned a small town bank this week to remove the Christian symbols from its counters and off its website.

KOCO reported:

A small-town bank in Oklahoma said the Federal Reserve won't let it keep religious signs and symbols on display.

Federal Reserve examiners come every four years to make sure banks are complying with a long list of regulations. The examiners came to Perkins last week. And the team from Kansas City deemed a Bible verse of the day, crosses on the teller's counter and buttons that say "Merry Christmas, God With Us." were inappropriate. The Bible verse of the day on the bank's Internet site also had to be taken down.

"I don't think there should be a problem with them displaying whatever religious symbols they want to display," said Amy Weierman, a Perkins resident.

Specifically, the feds believed, the symbols violated the discouragement clause of Regulation B of the bank regulations. According to the clause, "…the use of words, symbols, models and other forms of communication … express, imply or suggest a discriminatory preference or policy of exclusion."

Obama Reads Book to Second Grade Class… His Own, Of Course

You just can't make this stuff up.

Barack Obama stopped by a class of 2nd graders to read them a book today.
His own, of course.
The Seattle Times reported, via Drudge:

President Barack Obama has turned up at a Virginia elementary school to read to a group of second-graders from his new children's book.

The book – "Of Thee I Sing" – is a picture book in the form of a letter to his daughters portraying the lives of 13 great Americans. It was written in 2008 but just came out this fall.
