Confirmed! - Soros Associate Jeffrey Sachs Supports Socialism and Radical Redistribution: "
Activist economist Jeffrey Sachs was once an hero of mine.

Now I regard him as a very dangerous and influential opponent of liberty and national sovereignty.

In the 1990s I was impressed with Sachs, as the then-Harvard professor, toured the world urging former communist and basket case third world economies to adopt free market economic policies.

By the late 1990s I was alarmed. The man I once admired had thrown in with the United Nations.

Jeffrey Sachs is Director of the UN Millennium Project and Special Advisor to United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on the Millennium Development Goals, the internationally agreed goals to reduce extreme poverty, disease and hunger by the year 2015.

He is also the Director of The Earth Institute at Columbia University, where he is also the Quetelet Professor of Sustainable Development and Professor of Health Policy and Management.

All this globalism was bad enough, but by the 2000s, Sachs was hanging out with socialist financier George Soros.

Panelists George Soros, Nouriel Roubini and Jeffrey Sachs
at 'Can we save the World Economy', October 20, 2008

Sachs and Soros have shared many platforms in recent years and Soros' Open Society Institute has funded one of Sachs' African projects to the tune of $50 million.

This sealed it for me though.

In December 2009 Sachs addressed a meeting of the Party of European Socialists in Prague.

He makes it clear that while he still supports 'markets', he is in essence a redistributive socialist.

Sachs praises the socialists as 'both the heirs and the leaders of the world's most important and most successful political path...'

Sachs goes on to praise the socialists' 'strong commitment to universalist ethical principles and fiscal re-distribution...' He is also happy that the socialists have kept 'campaign financing as a public commitment, not dominated by private money...'

Sachs also regrets that "in the United States, we do not have a commitment to re-distribution, we have a commitment to low taxes, which are so low, we have enabled a massive underclass to develop..."

Sachs makes it clear that the United States should be the major funder of his globalist vision. He also calls for an international financial transactions tax and a carbon levy - both to rein in capitalism and to finance the West's 'commitments' to the world's poor nations.

Sachs calls for a 'global fund for health', one for 'education' and another for 'climate'.

The war in Afghanistan, the troubles in Gaza, even Somali piracy can only be ended through 'sustainable development'.

Sachs ends with a plea to the Party of European Socialists to 'make common cause with the progressives of the United States, so that we too, may find a political course back...we too, need to find your wisdom, we need to make common cause in that effort... Your cause is a European cause, but it's also a global cause... I so much admire you for that.'

Jeffrey Sachs has basically outlined the Soros agenda. The reduction of the United States to a subservient milking cow for global socialism.

Jeffrey Sachs is undoubtedly a socialist and radical redistributionist. His intelligence, reasonable manner, Soros funding and influential positions make him one very dangerous operator.

Venezuelan Missile Crisis - How Will Obama React?

from New Zeal: Security Risk? More Evidence of Mary Jo Kilroy's ...

Venezuelan Missile Crisis - How Will Obama React?: " When the Soviets put missiles into Cuba, President Kennedy forced them to back off.

Now the Iranians are putting missiles into Venezuela....

From the Hudson New York
Iran is planning to place medium-range missiles on Venezuelan soil, based on western information sources, according to an article in the German daily, Die Welt, of November 25, 2010. According to the article, an agreement between the two countries was signed during the last visit o Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez to Tehran on October19, 2010. The previously undisclosed contract provides for the establishment of a jointly operated military base in Venezuela, and the joint development of ground-to-ground missiles.

At a moment when NATO members found an agreement, in the recent Lisbon summit (19-20 November 2010), to develop a Missile Defence capability to protect NATO's populations and territories in Europe against ballistic missile attacks from the East (namely, Iran), Iran's counter-move consists in establishing a strategic base in the South American continent - in the United States's soft underbelly.

According to Die Welt, Venezuela has agreed to allow Iran to establish a military base manned by Iranian missile officers, soldiers of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and Venezuelan missile officers. In addition, Iran has given permission for the missiles to be used in case of an 'emergency'. In return, the agreement states that Venezuela can use these facilities for 'national needs' – radically increasing the threat to neighbors like Colombia. The German daily claims that according to the agreement, Iranian Shahab 3 (range 1300-1500 km), Scud-B (285-330 km) and Scud-C (300, 500 and 700 km) will be deployed in the proposed base. It says that Iran also pledged to help Venezuela in rocket technology expertise, including intensive training of officers
What will President Obama do about new this threat to U.S. security?
  1. Stare down the Iranians?
  2. Stop buying Venezuelan oil and open up all known U.S. reserves to exploitation?
  3. Pressure the Senate to pass the New START Disarmament Treaty with Iran and Venezuela's Russian allies?
  4. Play basketball?
  5. Play golf?
What do you think?

Socialism for Dummies

from New Zeal: Security Risk? More Evidence of Mary Jo Kilroy's ...

Socialism for Dummies: "An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had once failed an entire class.

That class had insisted that Obama's socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer.

The professor then said, 'OK,

we will have an experiment in this class on Obama's plan.'

All grades would be averaged and everyone would receive the same grade so no one would fail and no one would receive an A.

After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B.

The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy.

As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little.

The second test average was a D!

No one was happy.

When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F.

The scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else.

All failed, to their great surprise, and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed.

It could not be any simpler than that.

Thanks to Kevin

The WikiLeaks Vindication of George W. Bush

from USACTION NEWS

The WikiLeaks Vindication of George W. Bush: "

The WikiLeaks de facto declassification of privileged material makes it case closed: Saddam Hussein possessed weapons of mass destruction — and intended to restart his program once the heat was off.

Larry Elder at Townhall.com

EXCERPTS:

Bush claimed that Iraq sought uranium, specifically “yellowcake.” What is yellowcake, and why would its presence or attempted acquisition corroborate the nearly unanimous assumption that Saddam possessed WMD?

“Bush and Iraq: Follow the Yellow Cake Road” headlined a euphoric Time magazine July 2003 piece — written when the Bush administration began backtracking from the Iraq-sought-uranium-from-Africa claim. Time said no yellowcake equals no WMD equals bogus basis for war.

Wired magazine’s contributing editor Noah Shachtman — a nonresident fellow at the liberal Brookings Institution — researched the 400,000 WikiLeaked documents released in October. Here’s what he found: “By late 2003, even the Bush White House’s staunchest defenders were starting to give up on the idea that there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. But WikiLeaks’ newly-released Iraq war documents reveal that for years afterward, U.S. troops continued to find chemical weapons labs, encounter insurgent specialists in toxins and uncover weapons of mass destruction (emphasis added). … Chemical weapons, especially, did not vanish from the Iraqi battlefield. Remnants of Saddam’s toxic arsenal, largely destroyed after the Gulf War, remained. Jihadists, insurgents and foreign (possibly Iranian) agitators turned to these stockpiles during the Iraq conflict — and may have brewed up their own deadly agents.”

Bush, hammered by the insidious “Bush Lied, People Died” mantra, endured one of the most vicious smears against any president in history. He is owed an apology.

Video: Robert Gibbs admits that Obama was still smoking after takeover of our healthcare system: "Irony. Obama took over the entire healthcare system via legislative fiat. Supposedly it's for our own good. And while he and his bitter half want to tell us what we can and cannot eat, he himself smokes:
9 months ago was after the ObamaCare bill passed via bribes and threats.

DEM REP BLAMES SPEAKER PELOSI For Holding Tax Cuts Hostage (Video)

from The Gateway Pundit

DEM REP BLAMES SPEAKER PELOSI For Holding Tax Cuts Hostage (Video): "

Oh my… Speaker Pelosi won’t like this. She won’t like this one bit.

Democratic Representative Dan Boren (D-OK) blamed democrats, and Speaker Nancy Pelosi by name, for holding the tax cuts hostage and not bringing the bipartisan package to the House floor for a vote.

He better bring a bodyguard to the next caucus meeting.

Via On the Record:

Greta Van Susteren: Why isn’t it being brought to the floor? Who’s not bringing it to the floor?

Rep. Boren: The Speaker. The Speaker agreed. There was a motion by one of the members of the caucus today to say let’s put this off. Let’s not do this package that the White House and senate Republicans came up with. Let’s come up with our own package. Well, we had that vote last week and guess what? It failed.

Christmas Comes Early… Sarah Palin Discusses Death Panels In WSJ Editorial: "

Liberal. Heads. Explode.

(Impeach Obama)

Sarah Palin talked about cutting spending and eliminating democratic death panels in her latest Wall Street Journal editorial.

This was a nice parting shot at those 63 democrats who will not be returning after the new year.

The publication of the findings of the president’s National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform was indeed, as the report was titled, “A Moment of Truth.”

…Among the few areas of spending it does single out for cuts is defense—the one area where we shouldn’t be cutting corners at a time of war. Worst of all, the commission’s proposals institutionalize the current administration’s new big spending commitments, including ObamaCare. Not only does it leave ObamaCare intact, but its proposals would lead to a public option being introduced by the backdoor, with the chairmen’s report suggesting a second look at a government-run health-care program if costs continue to soar.

It also implicitly endorses the use of “death panel”-like rationing by way of the new Independent Payments Advisory Board—making bureaucrats, not medical professionals, the ultimate arbiters of what types of treatment will (and especially will not) be reimbursed under Medicare.

The commission’s recommendations are a disappointment. That doesn’t mean, though, that the commission’s work was a wasted effort. For one thing, it has exposed the large and unsustainable deficits that the Obama administration has created through its reckless “spend now, tax later” policies.
